Sonic the Hedgehog - Scrap Brain Zone

Me when I beat Labyrinth Zone: Yes, finally. I don't have to play that ever again. Scrap Brain Zone Act 3: Allow me to introduce myself.

Dr. Robotnik's last act of evil is to send back to essentially Labyrinth Zone. It's almost like they KNEW everyone was gonna hate those levels.

The way this guy plays is giving me anxiety

I enjoy the strategy of getting hit by absolutely everything and just getting one ring back

If eggman wanted to make it hard for Sonic, he should have flooded all the zones.

When i got to this level, I started believing my mom didn't love me because she bought me this game.

Fun fact: According to the developers the reason this stage doesn't have a giant ring for a bonus stage like the rest of the levels is because the VRAM used for the ring is used up by the animated smoke effects in the background of act 1

funny how everyones complaining about this guy keeping one ring but that literally how i normally play sonic

Marble Zone = Most Annoying Level Labyrinth Zone = Hardest Level Scrap Brain Zone = pretty much between them

i love how this is the only zone without the same background for more than an act

To be honest, this is more fun to watch than those gameplays with Super Sonic. It feels more real, even if it's a bit anxiety-inducing.

Note: Scrap Brain Zone has different types in acts. Act 1: it kinda looks like at the night outside Act 2: It looks like Final Zone Act 3: It's Labyrinth but harder

The composers of the sonic sound track were visionaries. Scrap Brain Zone theme song always evoked fear in me during my younger years. Amazing. Legendary Game.

It's been 30 years and that landscape is still unrivaled. The player has to have nerves of steel to go through this

The is the only level that has all three acts with different backgrounds.

I bet this zone was designed by the same person who made Metroplolis zone in Sonic 2 the lay out in both of them is so sadistic

I like to believe that Eggman built Scrap Brain Zone on top of ancient ruins in some once natural area, and that's what act 3 is. The forgotten "basement".

Everything about this zone scared me as a kid...

The nostalgia. When I first got to act 3 as a kid, I remember thinking it was so cool that it was basically a harder act of the Labyrinth zone, and that you start out going left instead of right.

It's so hard, but it's SUCH a cool level! I love the setting and the music, and even the hazards are cool albeit a bitch to actually get through.

*sonic arrive at eggman* sonic: now, eggman, i will stop you now! eggman: HAHAHA! dont be stupid sonic! i will send you to the most terrible zone in the game! *eggman push botton* *sonic falls to labyrinth zone* sonic: EGGMAAAAAAN!!!! YOU ARE A FREAKING SON OF BIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiii- *start scrap brain zone act 3... OR LABYRINTH ZONE ACT 4*

Now i've see the luckiest person of the world.

No idea why I'm here, except for the fact that the theme tune for this Sonic level just came into my head when I was watching a video about making music an Atari 2600 console ( the channel is called LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER). I know, totally unrelated in terms of console. I'm also going through some exam induced stress and perhaps that made me reach out for some comfort through nostalgia. When this first came out I was actually in my first time around at college. And now I'm back in collage all these years later trying to do it properly. Can't believe this thing still has me on the edge of my seat even though I'm not actually playing. Good times.

I hate this zone so much

It's always a struggle to get through Scrap Brain Zone if you just rush about. The zone is easier than you think to get through, if you remember to slow down and take your time. That way, you minimise the risk of losing rings too quickly. The only difficult part is getting up the last part of the climb to the red springs. Take it slow, and you'll get better results. I've played the game so many times before, I know that Scrap Brain Zone requires patience rather than stamina.

One possible summary of this zone: collect rings lose rings collect rings lose rings collect rings lose rings die! repeat x50 until you get the hang of things, or Alternatively - seek therapy all the trauma.

03:07 Carnival night zone

When I first played this level I couldn't get past it those razor sharp saws and the conveyor belt always got to me but now I finally beat it.

It's insane that this entire level is easier than Labrynth, and even Marble to an extent

I was born in 1991 till this day I still love sonic the hedgehog and godzilla

This stage has awesome music but is a tedious nightmare

6:00 if you keep running you find a secret entrance to the level which severly reduces its level of difficulty.

My favorite zone in Sonic 1. People think Labyrinth zone is the most hardest because they don’t know how to survive in water while when they get to Scrap Brain, they’ll change their mine because in the water part in Scrap Brain the big bubbles take forever.

My only explanation for act 3 is that Eggman successfully extracted all the natural resources he could from Labyrinth Zone with Scrap Brain's machinery.

I was surprised to see things like hanging onto poles in underwater tunnels and being blocked by force fields actually started in this game.

How come he gets his bubbles almost instantly? Whenever I was playing Labyrinth or Scrap Brain, those bubbles made me die alot

Shit I was a ring Chaser made sure I got all of them especially 100 to get my one up I think the most you can get without really dying is between 25-27 during the whole game

I can't believe the sheer amount of stuff they reused from this world in Metallic Madness (Sonic CD). Makes that world feel a bit rushed imo.

I fucking died to upper-route pit fall repetition in Scrap Brain Act 1 today. This was my first time ever reaching Scrap Brain without any sort of cheating.

At the end of act 2 I keep on passing it but then it takes me to a place where I can’t see me move and then it says game over!! What am I doing wrong???!!!
