Dear sir, this comment does not pertain to the gun, this is a comment of gratitude, my husband is a PWD & is bedridden, he is also a big fan of your channel, finds it informative & entertaining. Just want to say thank you...
Sons makes some of the best rifles period, they aren't over flashy, but they are build to kick ass. I agree though, their site could use some help for sure.
I bought a sons back in 2015 I believe. It’s a 2 digit serial number complete 11.5. It had a flaming pig tucked under a slr rail. They used to use centurion barrels and the uppers weren’t marked anywhere by sons. I’ve since put a forward controls keymo and a shorter rail to use my sandman, but other than that it’s the same gun from 5 years ago. Solid gun solid company, solid warranty. I didn’t know they would blow up the way they did, I just got one to support local business.
I’m still in love with my pws… while solgw makes great stuff , YOU are the reason I purchased a pws . While I love anything reliable, great shooting and good looking. Pws still has my heart. (I’d still love to get my hands on a solgw sage edition 😎👍)
I got to know Stacy at PWS. It owned multiple PWS products. Stacy in no longer at PWS and they are just not the same company. Stacy was someone you could talk too and treated loyal PWS customers very well. I had a problem with my MK114 Mod "0" way over gassed. He sent me a new upper at very good price.
PWS was a rifle I was looking at getting in the future, they looked great. Whats going on? got F&N, S&W, LMT, Radian, DD, SLR, LWRC, Midwest Industries, Tromix
So lucky they did an event at my LGS here in Vegas. I scored my very first AR... SOLGW M4-76 11.5 Pistol with the Warcomp. The Vltor A5H2 makes it run like butter.
That is so dope and looks like the recoil is minimal great build buddy can't wait till everything gets back to normal and I start seing these guns in stores 💪
I love my Sage pistol .Grabbed a black Sage upper also .I've been a fan of the channel for a long time and I felt the need to payback for all the info I acquired here..Thanks for being an excellent resource.
12.5 is perfect IMO . Love this setup. I have 2 that I built that are almost identical to this carbine / pistol . I even went with a Rosco barrel on one of mine lmao ....BA on the other . Surefire 3 prong , Sons Bolt Carrier , ...I mean almost identical.
Awesome content... ive been waiting for my 13 .7 in sage dynamics color scheme since early july.. ;) since its custom build..lol Same set up as your 12.5 .MrCowan . trigger ect.. only things i went with differently with was a titanium barrel nut to help with barrel longevity and doesn't heat up as fast.., and stock, grip but I im willing to wait...with pandemic and other unforseen events , lack of parts ect.. but ive talked to mike and Jess, personally numerous times ..great people. .awesome product... and cant forget a lifetime warranty... they will replace any part...from muzzle to stock.... just the warranty alone is golden ... and I believe no one does this to the extent sons of liberty gun works does.... but I'll only can speak for myself... and a firm believer in Mr Cowan and Mike M..and solgw... for me this is my first ar15... and my last... I'll only buy from solgw...
Started using the A5 system years ago with a 11.5 BCM... IMO outside of optics this is the best mod anyone can do to their rifle and is the first I do to anyrifle I buy/build.
If you slap the Law Folder on there you’ve put together my trunk gun. Great build and great choices on parts brother. This vid was paired nicely with my glass of Blanton’s
Hey Mr Cowen love the vids keep them coming. Would it be possible for you to categorize your videos into playlists? Makes them easier to reference. Thanks for the awesome content!
I love when you talked about how smooth shooting it was you were in prone trying to use a high mount with the most muzzle flip in the video. This thing looks punchy. But I'll chalk that up to the pistol brace and the high mount.
Holy $hit I can only get so hard here. If I didn't just build a UIC Mod 2 with the A5 and Criterion hybrid, I would be trying to get ahold of one of these. Very nice, it's perfect. Well done!
I’ve got 3 primary weapons systems (2 mod 2 and one mod 1) uppers and a mod 2 lower, and I have the sons of liberty 13.7. I like both. I like the 762 x 39 from primary weapons system. I’d like to see sons of liberty offer that as an upper.
If you are hesitant about spending a bit more than the budget allows, take the plunge. I purchased an 11.5 pistol and then built a 16 inch rifle with all SOGLW except the obvious A5 buffer and Forward Control Design perks.
I know Kyle Grothues (co-owner along with Mike Mihalski), very well. My best friend went to college with Kyle and we've all hung out on countless occasions. Both Mike and Kyle are rabid defenders of the 2A. That being said, I went to an ammo dump with those guys, and some rando was shooting his home-built AR and it kept jamming. Mike diagnosed what was going on simply from the type of jam, the sound of the gun, and the direction the shells were ejecting (almost to 1 o'clock in front). He immediately after the jam said, "You're overgassing." If I remember correctly his suggestion was to go with a smaller gas tube. Mike is practically a scientist of ARs, and SoLGW's rifles have the most insane warranty. Basically, anything goes wrong with it, they'll fix it. Just contact them. Even if it's taken as evidence during an investigation, they will replace it.
SOLGW is one of the coolest companies to deal with there is. Plain and simple. I’ve spent hours on the phone with Mike helping me fix my gun, THAT ISNT EVEN MADE BY SONS OF LIBERTY GUN WORKS. That spoke volumes for me. So we got a 13.7 soul snatcher for my girlfriend. Solid frickin gun.
For my 12.5 I used a bcm reciever a 12.5 dd chf barrel and a m75 11.5 rail. Still deciding the muzzle device. My lower is a bcm complete lower that has the intermediate buffer tube a springco green spring and a5h2 buffer
What we really want to know...is whats the better AR for primary use? If you had to pick one for a do it all AR, would it be one of the PWS products or one of these? Sage Dynamics Apocalypse weapon of choice is....???
Look up their social media or call them ans ask for which dealers are getting big orders from them, then call the dealers ans have them ship the rifle you want to your FFL.. Its really the best way to go these days. I found a PWS in Wisconsin and Im having it Shippex to CO this week when everybody from PWS to Big Daddy Unlimited to Shooting Surplus to Ranier Arms was out of them. And the same week I did that (about 2 weeks ago) SOLGW posted on their IG or Facebook from a store that had like 10 of their rifles on the wall. It seems to be a pretty sure fire pandemic-proof method to get the rifle you want.
That being said, I've heard the same thing. Its one lf the reasons I went with PWS over SOLGW, although Ill probably be back next year or the year after for a build from Sons.
I just spent 8 months building my solgw 13.7, if you have patience, it's not that hard to wait to get what you want. And this is coming a guy who delivers pizzas at night and a stay at home dad during the day, I have next to no budget.
Congratulations on the switch to S.O.L!! I was currently saving up for one of their uppers, but now I see I’m gonna have to have your gun!! Also, can we get a review on the Unity mount? Your opinion is at the top of my list. Again, congrats bro.
And it just keeps getting better. You had me at S.O.L. I can’t wait to see what else this collab spawns. Keep em coming bro. I’ll have every guy in my department drooling over this!
@@SageDynamics lookin forward to a review should you build one. In terms of rails I'm definitely a fan of 13" rails especially for Night Vision setups because I can still hit the pressure pads without having to move my hand back/bend my thumb so much.
Since mega arms is no longer in business Every company like Triarcsystems and SONs of liberty guns all went to the wedge lock rails originally designed by Hodge Defense and OEM produced by Mega Machine Shop / Or ZEV
Bought my first pws mk 114 mod2 last month. Wish I hadn't. Had the wrong hand guard installed contacted warranty department dude and sent him pictures of the gas adjustment two inches away from the access cutout on top of hand guard still crickets from the company.
Is that unity mount a 1.93 or a 2.26? I'm just tryin to figure out what to get..... I do have NV just lookin to upgrade my mount.... currently I'm runnin a lower 1/3rd.
Great build and essentially the route I went for my HD gun but the only reason I can't pull the trigger on a Rosco Bloodline barrel is the Gov't Profile. Why are "Gov't Profile" barrels, especially in this length, still a thing? My opinion doesn't matter much but at this point, it's just a bunch of extra weight at the end of the barrel for nothing.
Was there a specific design feature that you and PWS disagreed about? I love your content and purchased a PWS partially on your recommendation, it's phenomenal so far.
Just my 2 cents … I’m guessing Dean is starting to play politics now that PWS is snuggling up with those at the big boy table, like Brownells and others. Guess they’re hoping to get straddle the fence and if bans go into effect have an opportunity to get a shot at those government contracts.. 🤷🏻 They had a bit of an exodus quite a while back when Stacy walked out along with others.. not sure about those at the company now but Stacy and others that left were devoted 2A supporters.
Rifle looks fantastic. I have a question. Your reloads are very aggressive. You have a ton of downward force when you're pulling out the empty mag (it looks like you're nearly chucking it as hard as you can, downward). Is this intentional?
Any and everything with your name attached to it everybody wants. I wou.d like one of these rifle myself. The biggest thing I want is railscale dbal A3 leaf, sadly I fear that is a pipe dream due to Covid.
