The Sony 50mm F1.2 GM is Sony's first F1.2 lens in the E-mount range making this a beast when it comes to shooting in low light conditions. Being a G Master lens it's equipped with all the best tech that Sony currently offers with an aperture ring, weather seals, two focus hold buttons that can be customised for different settings and focus switch. Apart from low light capabilities, the F1.2 aperture will assist in isolate your subject in focus from the background.

I own the 50mm f/1.2 GM and it is optically perfect. The razor thin plane of focus and bokeh are amazing wide open. Autofocus is snappy and precise. I love this lens! So why do I have a manual Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2 on my camera right now? I have my reasons.

hello good video, I have a 24gm and 85 what focal will advise me, a 35 gm or 50 gm, thank you for your return

Prime shooters typically double the focal length from one lens to the next (or try to get close to it). So a 24mm shooter might go 24, 50 abnd105 or 135. A 35mm shooter might go 16, 35 and 85. These aren't hard rules obviously but they make sense. I shoot 24, 55 and 135 and I feel like this is a great outdoors kit for stills and video. 35 and 85 would be a great indoor studio and wedding kit.

Hi John! Thanks for sharing. Did you also noticed a blunt clicking noise when turning the lens upside down? Feels like something is moving inside that I am not sure if supposed to be.

Yes it is the floating focus mechanism. Totally normal! 😊

Huge price difference between this and the 55mm 1.8.Will be nice to see how it holds up for 7 year old lens.

Hello friend, I wanted to ask you I have the SONY GM 24, 35, 135 lenses and I would like to obtain one more I am in doubt which of these ... SONY 85 1.8, SONY GM 85 1.4 or SONY GM 50 1.2 which would be the best option? Thanks

I suppose it depends on your preferences of lenses. In this case, I think the 85mm would be a good option as it will spread out your lens focal range a bit more but its so hard to say no a really fast 50mm lens.
