Hello. Wondering which lens would you recommend for a casual photographer/vlogger? I'm an A7C user and can't decide between the Tamron 20mm and Sony 24mm (unfortunately, the Sony 20mm is out of my price range). Based from the vlogging demo you did, I feel that the 24mm is more stable than the 20mm, but maybe that's just me?

Fantastic work as usual John. Your demo images are lovely. I like their stylish look. I jut invested in an expensive 24-70mm, so I don't see myself buying any of these anytime soon. In terms of image quality, I wonder how these lens measure up to my G Master at their particular focal length? I hope you can look into that in your follow-up review. Thanks JS.

Thanks Rick! They're pretty cool for what they offer and I love this direction that Sony took. While I think these lenses are pretty good. I think the GM will be a beast compared to them hehe. Let's see how they compare when the production models come out.

hey john im looking to get my first sony camera and as much as I wanted the a7c I can't afford it right now so im debating 6600 or 6400 ? what would you recommend for a beginner

Thanks John, but Im not sure what you mean by these are expensive compared to their competition. Their only real competition are the Sony GM lenses which are 3 times more expensive. The cheaper 1.8 and even 1.4 primes from companies like Samyang, Yongnuo, Viltrox etc...arent even in the same league. I have owned about 7 of the Samyang 1.8 and 1.4 lenses and all have major focussing issues and the 1.8 lenses are built like plastic toys to be honest. These G lenses have far superior build quality, faster and more accurate AF, excellent image quality and sharpness with pro features, all in a small and light package. All that is lacking on the cheap 3rd party lenses. These are mini GM lenses for 1/3rd the price and they are a steal IMO.
