Nice video. I think you’ve correctly identified the kind of consumer who would buy this camera. I upgraded to the A7Cii from the A7ii a few days ago. I wanted the improved features and smaller form factor. I shoot primarily stills as a hobby and for friends and family so I didn’t need the pro features of the A7iv. I am excited about the video features in this camera and may try my hand at videography.
The perfect lenses can be the small ones from Sony: 24mm.f.2.8 G and 40mm.f.2.5 G plus 50mm.f.2.5 G or a couple of the small ones from Sigma, e.g. together with two of the previously mentioned: 17mm.f.4 and 90mm.f.2.8 .....
Ed what are the lenses you would recommend if you feel the Zeiss 55mm isn't going to push it to the max? I mean from the newer lenses Sony is offering.
Hey I love the video I'm currently debating whether to get the a7cii with the Sony 50mm f/ 2.5 lens. Or get the Sony a6700 with the kit 10-20mm lens along with the sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens. My ultimate goal is just to take videos and edit them to have them look cinematic like some I've seen online. As well as take some pictures, but mostly videos. Please help, l've done extensive research and the a6700 is loved by many, and I can't find much information on the a7c ii (maybe due to the crazy price difference). Yet again great video!!
I have a Sony a1 but I kinda want a flip out screen and more portable cam. Do u think this one would be worth or maybe the a7c which dropped a lot in price
I have the Sony a7rii which I mainly use for Milky Way photography. I’m considering this new Sony a7cii because of all the additional features like insect tracking and vehicle tracking, to maybe expand my photography a bit. However, I’m also watching a private sale listing of a used Sony a7riv for a couple hundred dollars less than the new Sony a7cii - I know, “first world problems” hey.
I own both an A7RV (ouch, my budget still tries to recover, and A7CII). Both cameras have surprised me with the quality of photos taken in Auto mode. Impressive. Now, if only Sony offered us a good quality full frame, AF, pancake lens... Instead, I have a 24mm G and a 40mm G.
Why is there no p30 H.265 recording on Sony cameras? They only have p24/p25, p50/p60, and p120. That is infuriating. I need p30 for RU-vid and I really don't want to use p60 or p24 converted to p30 for RU-vid. p24 doesn't look right unless you have a 24Hz monitor. I'm thinking about switching to Panasonic over this.
