Sony Almost KILLED Their Biggest Game Of The Year (Helldivers 2) 

I'd like to point out that the game is still not purchasable in 177 counties and is still delisted. We did not win. It's the same for Ghost of Tsushima, cannot be purchased at all. And i just checked since I'm in one of the regions that doesn't have PSN support.

We lost, the game is not purchasable in most of the world, they just said words and did nothing, and most people ate the shit Sony gave, we lost

They still haven't fixed the issue for people outside of PSN countries.

Getting a tweet and the requirement being postponed is not a win.

I feel like the biggest reason that PC players rebelled against Sony, is Pc players just flat out don't be like being told what to do. We know PSN ISNT necessary to make the game function, and have no interest in using Sony services. Its why We play on PC and not Paystation.

Sony clearly forgot that the PC crowd is SIGNIFICANTLY louder than the Playstation crowd.

The game is still unavailable for purchase in the countries where you cannot make a PSN account, same for Ghost of Tsushima (and it will probably be the same for future PS port). Sony may have backtracked on the PSN requirement but effectively nothing has changed. Worst of all, most people are happy with this outcome. We didnt win, Sony did and we lost.

as an australian i know how much it sucks when companies have a vendetta against you (valve for example, they were sued for a sketchy policy of theirs and now they refuse to sell the index or deck here officially) so i will never be buying helldivers 2 until all 177 currently blocked countries can play, and all players of those countries are compensated via a season pass or something for their time lost. If i get the urge to play helldivers ill go onto a grey market key website and ensure im purchasing one that was secured via sketchy means such as chargebacks

This is just a delaying tactic, the psn account requirement is coming back. How do I know? They haven't resumed selling it in locations where it's impossible to create an account. They know Steam would give refunds if Sony arbitrarily takes the game away from players, and it's in their plans to do that.

The game is still unavailable in all those countries, so saying "We won" is an odd choice of words. They even made an ingame mission to reverse negative Steam reviews that their messed up communication and policy earned them. They should have accepted a messed up launch day but still required account linking from the start, because they clearly plan to make account linking a thing again later. That way they would have been honest. They can blast off into the sky for all I care.

The only thing we can do to protest is to not buy Sony games with a psn account requirement. That's what I'm doing, and I hope people do the same. Otherwise, they will keep doing this proprietary bullshit.

PC is not the largest gaming platform. Console numbers are far higher. There are many homes with no PC and multiple game systems. If you look at the numbers of people that are playing on steam you can usually triple or more that number when you include the console players.

we won the battle, not the war. helldivers is still locked in the non psn countries and they are waiting for us to forget. ghosts of tsushima released with psn forced in. do not change your reviews. in fact, make more. sure praise the game within the review, but make it negative. make it a stain on the game to show that all it takes is 1 ounce of greed. and if they kill the game because of that, so be it
