This one's a little bit different insofar as I have a fix for the common scraping/ dragging of the flywheel against the coils of the reel drive motor as used on the Sony Betamax C20, C30, C40, C80, HF100, F30, F60 and HF950 machines plus many others that use the later 711 cdeck chassis and the CX deck which the HF700, HF750 and HF950 all use.
I've split this repair into two parts as I ran out of time plus just wanted to highlight the reel motor fix as it's really easy! You don't even need to remove the reel assembly to do the fix although I have as I was trying to work out why the issue occurs and it's good to really know it's fixed plus it needed a good clean!
