Sony CRF-V21 world band receiver with printer very rare 

Sweet rig. I'm gonna miss Sony Shortwave radios a lot. They made some really cool ones over the decades. I just got a ICF-SW7600GR now that Sony stopped making them it will be one of the last.

Like most vintages radios the nostalgia is more important than the performance compared to the best current models. Save your money and invest in these only if you are a radio collector.

regrettably the weather radio service is no longer active, which this radio could print out weather maps.

I collect SW radios, I don't think I have the stomach to shell out $5K for this, or $2-3K for a crf 320. As great as they were, these radios are hitting the time when their components may begin to fail from age, and essentially nobody has the parts or the expertise to fix them. Otherwise, I'd be all in. Another factor is there is just less to listen to on SW bands these days, in english, in the western hemisphere. Every year it seems another country is discontinuing their world service. I get it, why bother when the internet lets you do the same thing for much less.

In my humble opinion it's not worth what it actually delivers. Too expensive for a technology, in my opinion, useless. Very specific and restricted public.
