joewaldo1 It's all built in on the headphones. I just tested it out last night with my Note 4 and it works perfectly. Also the NFC function is amazing. One tap to your phone and it turns it on instantly.

I am glad the review helped and although I think you would have been happy with the Crushers it is very hard to top these Sony's for me. The sound is insane and you can get serious bass if you want to out of these as well

Hey you were right I love these headphones your review was right on point. I got these headphones on Black Friday for $99 but they are worth the $199.00 retail price. Took a chance and it paid off. The call quality on these headphones are good as well. Asked four different people and all said sounded like I wasn't even using anything. I tested the headphones out pretty good placed my phone on the kitchen table walked away went I every room in the house still had a perfect signal even went to the mailbox heard a few crackling noise but I was real far away. But the music was still playing though the headphones. The bass is real nice as well you don't have to use the bass button to hear bass but boy when you do these cans can shake. These happen to be the most comfortable headphones I ever owned I hope this little small review help someone decide on getting these or not.

been using it for 5 months and no regrets. I've tested Bose QC, sad to say it lacks bass. sound like mono....though my sony is not quiet comfort, still enjoy deep bass of it. grab one guys you'll not regret having one!
I got these and if they were 800 I would still buy them, if you wanna experience sound on a diff level get these! Give yourself a favor and experience the intensity of these headphones. Good review, you can tell you be experienced haha gotta love that bass

Good and very honest review! I tried them in a Sony Store and the bass was amazing! They're quite comfortable too, Unfortunately they didn't have the bluetooth version so I couldn't buy it. Can you connect two bluetooth devices simultaneously?? I'm talking about the multipoint function.
My friend just told me about these and I'm debating if I should get them. I have the plantronics backbeat go 2 headphones and they are really good and I really like how they are portable which even though the Sony headphones seem good they don't seem as portable. Would you say that would be a con? Or have you felt they are portable enough? Could someone go running with these or to the gym? Thanks for the review! I think you are doing great! Also, I really like what some people do with their reviews when they have some different camera angles or animations which I think could improve your reviews but the content of yours was still really good. :)
Great Review. I've ordered them and they are on their way. I'm wondering if they are totally compatible with Galaxy S3. Do you know if using them with the cord will provide a clearer, more high quality sound than the Bluetooth?
WWWgames They are extremely comfortable. They expand a lot and the padding is so great on the top and sides that you don't even realize you have them on most of the time

funny you reviewed two headsets i've been considering. these and the steelseries prism raw. does the mic work well when connected to the pc over bluetooth? gaming use would be over vent with push-to-talk. the 50% off sale is supposedly until 12/1 and the price has grabbed my interest :)

+T4LLI3E4ST so sorry I haven't responded earlier . i think they are a better buy because you get the portability of not having too use wires. they sound incredible although I would say the Audio Technica has a more balanced sound I still enjoy listening to the Sony's more
just got these last night. used them until the battery died. love them. they ARE so light and comfortable on the ears. price is now dropped to $129. so I had to go for it and glad I did
If you guys are thinking this has too much bass just go to bestbuy and give these a listen, I tried it today and after, the rest of the headphones I tried felt not punchy enough, got back home and ordered it on amazon for $100

these will work with a bluetooth adapter if your pc doesn't have bluetooth already. human voices sound great.....as long as you don't have the bass boost on

John Mateu Thanks. I honestly like the sound using it wired better but that has to do with the device I mainly used it with. Some phones have awful sound quality and you actually get a different type of signal when using it via bluetooth and it's simply better with my phone. Now, when using it with my PC the aux cable is much better so it kind of depends on the device. You can't use the BASS BOOST feature while using the aux cable
I have the Skullcandys Uproar's & I love them. But seeing the Sony Bluetooth extra bass boost. And just hearing all the reviews on the headphones. it's sounds like there amazing. Because I love a lot of BASS in my music man.

i bought that one in Japan a year ago. it sounds AWESOME. i got to say that XB950 is a monster. and i got thatonly for 1400 Yen. or maybe around 100 USD.
+adam PLEASE HELP ME MY XB950 BROKE Recently that thing broke.it isn't that strong. the rotary hinge part broke without any reasons! i was just about to go. i put it on my neck and suddenly i feel something loose. there i saw my left ear cup hanging. I wonder how to fix or at least got the official repair from sony. I gave up with the waranty card. it's all in japanese! and i'm in Indonesia now.
Great Review! Any thoughts on how these compare to the Bose QC15? I like my bose but I looking for something with a little extra bass and the bluetooth is an added plus.
The sound on these are better to me because I think the bass is perfect in these. They don't have the isolation the Nose has because of Bose notice cancelling ability so it depends on which feature is more important to you
First of all great review everything was right on point. I've been looking at the bluedio r +legend blue tooth headphones and are torn between these. I like bass but want to hear my highs and mids as well. Can you help me decide.
Is there a butten on the headphones to answer calls with. Also I just bought the 60 dollar version of these headphones and they are decent bass and sound quality so I will probably take them back to get these plus I love that these are wireless.

I mean mostly when you buy some top of the line costly products, chances of them to be made in Japan are high but other regular products can be from China or Thailand or Malaysia plants. And if you can't find it in box, check the headphones themselves....when I bought my MDR-ZX100, it was written 'Thailand' on the junction of Y-cable....when I bought another pair, they had 'China' written there!!!
sony originated and evolved quality gadgets since 1980's. been using this products for 30 yrs now. i admire their quaity and craftsmanship. if only Sony have developed a car, i will surely like to drive one as well...😅

As much as information you have about the device, i feel your review is not organized. Break the review into multiple steps. build quality (construction,material,rigidity,added features), Sound( highs, mids, lows, sound for various genres including dubstep,rock,EDM,Metal), Accesories (cables controls). You did stick to the basic layout, but i observed you were jumping from one section to another as per your convinience. Great mic btw :) All the best.
Hey, awesome review ! I think I'm going to buy these, but now I'm owner of the Sony mdr-xb600 and they are awesome pair of headphones for that price for me. Have you ever listened to them? Bcoz I have tried Audiotechnica ath-m50x and I was bit dissapointed with the bass. So when I will order mine 950bt's I don't want to have that feel again. Thanks.
i have heard the xb600 and trust me, these will blow them out of the water. Also, being able to use bluetooth and not have the cables make it worth it. The Audio Technica sometimes takes a device with a little more power than others to run it which makes it different than most consumer headphones
Gamesky Holy cow ! They sound amazing ! Even with bass boost + bass turned on the max in my music player the clarity of the vocals and trebles is clear. Than punchy basses, even when there is singing with those hard basses, it is clear. Not like on my xb600, when I turned everything to have more bass, trebles were too low, but not here ! Awesome buy. But I have problem connecting them to my laptop with windows 8. Btw what file types do you use and do you use equalizer, is it any good to adjust things in the music player? Thanks.
eM Pee so glad you like them. windows 8 is tricky with bluetooth devices sometimes. I usually have to go ahead and put the headphones in pairing mode and then go in to settings and try to find bluetooth devices. I usually use FLAC files on my pc but from my phone I use Spotify and run them at the highest quality. sometimes an equalizer helps if you want to bring out something more or even try to back down on something but with these headphones already having their power built in it more than likely won't change much

Isaac Chenk they are only compatible by plugging in the cable to the controller. there is no usb connection that will allow it to plug in to the ps4. bluetooth does not allow you to hear gameplay but will allow you to hear chat
Would you recommend these over Beats Pros? Also, how would you describe using them to listen to RU-vid videos and films? Does the bass drown out people talking?
yes I would. they are great for movies and RU-vid as long as you don't have the "Bass Boost" turned on. they are more comfortable than the Beats Pro and have a better overall sound. although the bass is tighter in the Beats

+Tom Hardy Thanks! These have bass you wouldn't believe. in fact, if you use the bass boost feature it can actually be too much bass on some songs. overall these are hard to beat and the apple earpods aren't even close to these so you will definitely enjoy the Sony's
You can definitely feel the bass with the bass boost button on. It doesn't have the "vibrating" feature like the crushers or the pulse elite headphones but its a strong bass
it doesn't have the actual vibration feature like the Skullcandy Crushers or Sony Pulse Elite but the bass boost is so strong that it definitely causes the headphones to vibrate
I need a good pair of wireless headphones for using during using loud machinery. I wanted these until I realized you never mentioned noise canceling. I bought beats studio the noise cancel was good but sound was garbage and they were $432 after tax and warranty which is ridiculous. I returned them.
these definitely will not isolate very well for you and I can not recommend them for that. To be honest look up the Astro A38 headphones which are strictly bluetooth. those cancel out noise very well!
Is there a noticeable difference in sound between the headphones when it is using bluetooth and it being connected to the device by the cable because from what i know headphones that are considered bluetooth dont sound as good as cables being connected the the device itself.

How do I make it work with my windows 8.1 laptop?........The built-in bluetooth can find any bluetooth device except my mdr bluetooth headphones, but they work nicely with my lumia phone and ipad.........any solution??
