This is not a sponsored video; I paid for the Ulanzi 2024 cooling fan with my own money. I wanted to share my experience using it on commercial projects with my Sony A74.
I had been facing some overheating issues with my A74 during commercial shoots. Instead of buying a new camera with a built-in cooling fan, I decided to try this cooling fan to see if it made a difference. I'm happy to report that since using the Ulanzi fan, I haven't had any overheating issues.
Before, my camera would overheat after about 20 minutes of recording, and I’d have to wait for it to cool down or use a hair dryer on a cool setting to speed up the process. With this little gizmo, those days are over. It’s a small, spring-loaded unit that attaches easily to the camera and stays securely in place.
You can hook up a USB-C cable to the fan, allowing it to stay powered on all day. The fan has two modes: mode one is almost silent, and mode two has a bit more noise, but it’s not picked up by the mic, especially after sound editing. I use it for my vlogs, and I haven't had any sound issues.
I've also tried it on my Fujifilm X-T4, and it works perfectly there as well, even though the X-T4 doesn't overheat as much as the A74.
