Thank you for the review. I bought and started using my Sony SRS XB30 in 2018, 4 years ago. I think I got it on sale for around $85. As fast as technology is advancing, one would think it would be dated by now. No way. It still holds its weight against late models, and it is still going strong, even through heavy use (sometimes rugged use).
I'm from Brazil and i doesn't understand the video but, what is better, JBL charge 3 or Sony srs xb30? What have more Bass? And what speaker the sound is more loud? Thanks :D
hey in India the flip 4 costs about 40 dollar more than the xb20 if I only consider the sound should I pay 40 dollars more for the flip 4 or should go with the xb20...I can get the xb30 with a little bit more money than flip 4 which is way more than xb20 but it does not have USB so which one should I go with?
The xb30 sucks don't buy it , when it's loud it's gonna sound terrible , just get the xb31 it's more louder n deeper bass , just make sure u install a tweak call speaker boost on Google play which can increase to 20-30% louder
so it's more of a upgrade apart from the lights, i like the fact that you can control the settings from a app, can you config all the sound settings from this app?
Hi. Some advice would be appreciated. I have 3 xb30 speakers. As soon as I connect one or more speaker they go out of sync within seconds. I have hardly used any of them, but I am already at the stage where I feel like giving up on them :(
Even when you reached the 20% mark where the volume is lower ? Can you listen at higher volume or not even ? If not, it's clearly some deal breaker for me and I'll keep my Charge 3 that is more than fine even if the Sony has more punch (in Bass) and it's louder. Thanks !
Stephen the srs xb3 you can charger the speaker and play music at the same time and charge your phone off the speaker too at the same time surely Sony wouldn't downgrade a newer model than a older model
I was waiting for this speaker to show up but not having the option to charge the speaker via a mico-usb is a deal breaker for me. I guess I'll be getting the charge 3
The lack of Micro USB (or even USB-C) charging is a disappointment. The included charger is rated as 5V at 3 amps, so it barely charges any faster than the 2.4 amp USB standard.
Oh, tough question! I think they both sound great... if you like extra bass, you may like the Sony better. But everyone's preferences are different, so if you're able to, please check them out at a local store to make sure.
Technically Well DLX Willington hey should I get the xb40 or 30, I like loud nice quality with good bass so is the xb40 for me? cause I might think it may not be durable to grab and won't fit in my bookbag and would be awkward to flex it at school and blast in the streets with my friends so should I get the xb30 then or xb40?
Officialy in technical documents sony promises only 4 hours of playing music via bluetooth connection. After this volume goes down to 20% and it really sucks. How to fix it? If there is any firmware update for Sony? Just bought one and was totally dissapointed about this product. I brought it home just from the shop and used speaker for about half an hour at max volume , after it volume was switched automatically to minimum and I couldnt turn it up even with Sony app (seems battery isn charged full from factory). Also I couldn't hear the sound properly even in room! This volume is extremly low and silent. And speaker played more 14 hours at this volume! WHICH IDIOT ENGINEER developed this function, to cut volume when battery goes low and keep playing 14+ more hours instead of using all capacity of battery at maximum when you desire. THATS HOW SONY BUILDS 24 HOURS OF PLAYING. Real battery life of Sony SRS-XB30 is 3-4 hours of maximum volume plus 14-15 hours on minimum volume, but I shall notice that you cannot hear anything, it whispers like invisible spirit in the dark forest. AND YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE VOLUME, YOU HAVE TO LISTEN IT AT MINIMUM, THATS A PEAK OF HUMAN STUPIDNESS IN ENGINEERING. Probably I shall bring it back to the shop this useless heavy piece of plastick if there is no decision how to fix this debility mistake of sony brainless developers :(
Acid Buddha All your statements are wrong. First please take you're speaker to warranty repair. I have used my XB30 over 4 months and everything is perfect. Fully charged, lights on and 95% of volume. Speaker last 8 hours easily. Before making this kind of untrue statement, let you speaker tested with closest warranty service. Yes indeed, volume goes very low after battery level is dropped below 20%, it just because protect speaker from internal damages. I tested: when volume dropped low. I plugged charger and after 3 minutes, I turned speaker off and on, and it was back on full volume. It is also mentioned in user manual.
Siim what about the volume of the speaker.. when the battery goes down the volume is also down.. is it normal? I just buy it yesterday.. and tested it before charge it. I think the damage is there right?
