I bought this machine at my local Savers thrift store for $11 US, in excellent working condition. It’s my 4th turntable. For the price, very hard to beat. I did have to adjust the pitch control on the bottom. But once I did that, fantastic sound. I think the 3600 style cartridge is it’s “secret sauce”.
your right its an amazing turntable for $11 us . i dont think you will be beating that price to performance anytime soon , i know i wont when i paid £10 for mine , plus its fun to try out new stylus on it , they are relatively cheap for this sony thanks for your comment , i might go and have another listen to mine now lol

Thanks for the video. I just found mine from 2009 at my parents house. I know it's good to replace the needle as you said, but does the arm need to be adjusted or anything like that? I set it up yesterday and it skipped a little, randomly, and sound seems to get very quiet here and there. I hooked it up to the receiver carefully.
If you still have it, throw it away and look for something early to mid 70's like a pioneer pl12 Get someone to look over it. The pioneer pl 12's are always on ebay they are simple but decent decks. Once you have it all set up and running properly, you won't want anything else! Keep away from anything all plastic. You want metal and robust looks with wooden plinth/frame!
