Always had Sony televisions from the Trinitron in the nineties to LEDs. There are currently three Sony LCDs in our apartment, all are getting old but still work well producing a decent picture. We are about to upgrade and Sony is the number one choice. I like Sony televisions.
I bought a 32 inch Sony Bravia for my living room ten years ago. Has not missed a beat. Still a quality picture. There's a reason why consumer reports rates them 5 out of 5 for reliability. And its a good one.
I'm enjoying my Sony a80j 77 inch that was delivered and i nstalled on the wall yesterday. I'm amazed with the picture quality and the sound of the TV. I use the TV for movie watching only. I have a 5.2.4 set up but that's true the Sony a80j sound good and I believed that the new Sony HT A9 sound system will sound great💎
My obsession with getting the perfect TV which I know will never exist tired me out. Like months worth of researching, racking my brain on getting the best one was frustrating to say the least. I wish I could say I have enough cash to not care but I think that's the biggest factor when we obsess over tvs or anything expensive for that matter. Some of us can afford to get a new one every other year or maybe year but I stay with a TV for a good amount of time. Anyways with that said, I'm enjoying my A80J and I'm a huge gamer. But I also use it for movies, TV and streaming so picture quality is important to me. I had to make a sacrifice and I was willing to sacrifice dolby vision at 120hz and vrr possibly never coming to the TV. I feel comfortable with my choice but it didn't come easy and I have to say thank you for all your informative vids! To everyone who got a new TV this year have fun, enjoy and let's stop the FOMO 🤘
How does it look while gaming? I use my Tv for the same things and I’m debating the a80j or the C1. I watch movies stream and game pretty often on ps5.
X90J 65inch user. I really have no issues with this TV. Yes it doesn't quiet have the gamer VRR issue sorted, but hell it works great out the box. I'm no longer a hardcore gamer anymore, so it works great for me
Just bought the X85J 43". Quite an impressive upgrade from our 13 year old Visio!!! Wanted to have ATSC 3.0 for OTA, and currently pulling in quite a few channels at 1080p. Tuner pulls in 107 channels. Streaming is very nice also. Software is good. A very nice upgrade. Appreciate all your informative videos and recommendations. Very helpful.
I've been looking around at mid range QLED, etc. and I can't get over the fact the X85k (the successor to the X85J) just looks better than everything else. Even better than the X90J imo because of all the X90K blooming. So happy to have finally settled on a tv and not feel like I'm missing out by going with a lower priced model.
No VRR hasn't become a problem. I'm a huge gamer and I've noticed zero screen tearing on my A80J. I know many will disagree but for me it's a feature I can live without if it never comes
@@pttthhh with game mode on its around 15 milli seconds. I find it very responsive! However, outside of game mode it is noticeable. For some reason not so much so on Series x but on Ps5 the lag can get in the way especially if you're playing a side scroller (outside of game mode)
The 65” X90J paired with my HT-Z9F 5.1 surround sound and X800M2 4K Blu-ray player is the dream setup for me. I love it. Wonderful for viewing 4K physical media!
I know I am late in responding but when you actually ask for a different use case I MUST speak up! I have 3 home theatre systems... Primary in the living room, secondary in my master bedroom, and a third in my home office. In ALL of these cases, the system is based around a processor(or receiver), a bunch of power amps, OTHER audio and video sources, and many many speakers and subwoofers. The audio portion of EACH room represents tens of thousands of dollars invested, and the television is usually similar or LESS than the processor... The television is also the most "disposable" part (I have upgraded all three at least once in the past year and I am already thinking about the next living room television... I put a 65" Hisense U8G in the office based on your (and other) glowing reviews of the picture... I am delighted with the result. I have a Visio 75" in the bedroom that I am satisfied with (don't recall the model but it's last year model with Dolby Vision, and e-arc (missing from the older Visio it replaced)... I have an 86" LG UM8070AUB in my living room and while it was amazing when I first installed it... It is now the weakest picture in the house in the location I do the most watching... I am running a 9.2.6 system with over 200 W per channel (rms all channels driven) in each of the 9 base speakers AND each of the height speakers and a pair of SVS SB16 Ultras... I paid an electrician to put 2 dedicated 20A circuits in the room. I don't give a RAT'S ASS about the speakers or sound that the TV makes! I will never hear it... ever. I am having a very difficult time finding reviews of JUST the picture, colour and motion quality of the TV... I also don't want to pay for quality audio in a television that is really ONLY a display but it seems like getting a 10% picture improvement means also paying for a big redundant audio upgrade... Help! I want a big (85" plus) display that can be VA or IPS or qled or oled or micro (no off axis seating in my place) with astounding picture quality, capable of playing Grand Tourismo in a competent manner. I will NOT be buying a projector because it is also my living room and there is no place from projector or screen and during the day one wall is all windows (heavy acoustic dampened drapes for movies and night). I know it sounds like a "niche" but we are a MUCH larger group of people than display makers seem to think! Just look at how many brands of high end theatre processors and receivers are backordered globally! For HT enthusiasts, the display is NOT the biggest investment and its usually the most frequently upgraded... We need quality mass market displays WITHOUT paying for audio features!!
I totally agree with you about the 2022 range of Sony televisions. I've always been a huge advocate for this brand and, after doing my research, I upgraded to the XR75X95J in March. The picture quality is superb and the definition is remarkable, even when watching in standard mode. When I view anything in HD or UHD, it blows any other tv's or of the water.
I bought the Sony X91CJ 85 inch from Costco got a free 5 Year warranty. Easy setup works well with my Apple products. My family and I are very happy with it.
I bought the a 65 inch XBR TV back in 2012 when i got my first house. It never had a problem and its going 10 yrs now. 240 Hz refresh rate. Crystal clear pictures. I am waiting for the A95K 77 inch next year and my XBR will go to my bedroom. It is my living room TV right now.
I absolurely feel sony is the best this year hands down. You have one you get to see you know how good it is. That's why you never let what yoy see somewhere else effect what you have already seen yourself at home. These tvs are used so many different ways. I appreciate soby and there settings. You can get whatever image you want and for me that means something. If you want super saturated you can grt it with live color or even changing the color space. You have black adjust for further added depth snd even deeper blacks which is crazy considering this is alresdy an oled I'm talking about. You have reality creation for added detail and sharpness. It's an incredible tv and the brightest oled out. It also gets brighter colors now not just dark so it can now get brighter saturated colors even in bright highlights it's na incredible sight and just so so good to see. John just explained this yesterday the same thing I've been explaining. Same thing Vincent and dnice and others have been explaining also. I hope next year at the shootout you are able to get right in front of them and closer so you can see them. I mean color washout on oled is still a thing at 50 degrees even 25 degrees there is color shift. All good though these tvs are incredible especially for there processing. Awesome video as always fomo. Also guys enver let anything or anybody effect your buying decision whether you want lg or samsunf or Sony it doesn't matter. Get what you want to and what you like forget the rest and enjoy. I know what I see on a daily basis and nothing can change what I've seen myself. I know how I like to use my a90j and it is incredible.
Yesterday my X90j 55 inch Sony arrived. OOTB setup was perfect for me and at a price point of 999.00 it was the sweet spot for me. Yes OLED is better on paper, but side by side I was really impressed with the X90J. Also the 2.1 4K 120hz refresh rate was a must for me and this TV has it. Sony has never disappointed me and very happy with this TV. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is on the fence with LED vs OLED.
I owned a XBR 27 w/PiP, subwoofer and could rotate it a couple of degrees off centre with a touch of a button on the remote. It also incorporated a space in the cabinet under the screen to accommodate a VCR (remember those?) and I got 20+ years out of it before it died. I’ve owned a JVC, 2 RCA’s (Low Definition TV) and an AQUOS which I got 5 years out of it before it died & it couldn’t be repaired (motherboard?). I recently purchased a Sony Bravia XR X90J with a 4 year warranty and I will be quite perturbed if it gives up the ghost in 5 years but I’m hoping that won’t happen and that I made the right decision in going back to Sony.
A80j is an Amazing tv. I've hammered it with my ps5 and it's mind blowing, utterly sublime. The XR processor is a work of Art. Night scenes are especially stunning. After going OLED, I wouldn't have any other tv, and this Sony one is top drawer.
You don't even use the processor in gaming mode. What you see is simply the OLED panel itself. OLED is king. I have Sony A90J and LG GX and they look pretty much identical.
@@jamesmccarte1609 Wouldn't like to say to be honest. For as bright as it can be in a normal lit room I can't see as it would be any major issue, but I've heard people on Internet talk about it. And my conditions don't replicate any of those so I just can't say as gospel. I went to see it in a big shop first though, so it was very bright artificially, loads of possible reflections, AnD it was a night scene on the TV and it looked amazing. Nothing worried me about it, went straight home and ordered it online.
December 2022. I finally found and bought a PS5. I had a Hisense i had been using with a Xbox Series X. I returned that and was going to get to x80k but ended up going for the x85k and happy i did. Works fantastic with the PS5. I liked it so much that two days later i bought a second one to use as regular tv. This second one i was at first disappointed with it. Was wondering if they were both the same tv. Did a bit of tweaking on the settings and now it is perfect. (both tv are size 43inch)
I starting researching for a new tv back in Feb-March. I was initially thinking would be between the C1 & Q90A. Didn't take long to realise it would be the A80J. With recent price decreases over here I'll hopefully be picking up a 77' this week.😎
Depends what you use the tv for I got the c1 for my ps5 and I’ve used it on a Sony and Samsung tv and the c1 blows them away and also for 4k hdr films is crisp
I do find the C1 edging over Sony's TV A80J. The picture quality is great and more nitpicking which is better, though two out of three leaned towards the LG display when giving the TV's a trial.
@@colk41 A Sony A80J, doubtful. There is very little difference from a gaming point of view besides the extra ports, VRR, some dimming but the C1 takes it no doubt. As for film watching, Sony has the better picture quality, motion and sound but both are awesome TV's.👍
@@techknow9237 I think you'll find as I did with a bit of research that the vast majority of reviewers pick the Sony. Both great OLED'S though. Enjoy! ✌️
You should do a video on how much difference those gaming features actually make. Compare a TV with VRR to one without and see if it is really that big of a difference, etc.
Well VRR is not necessary if your Pc/Xbox maintains a locked FPS to whatever the TVs refresh rate is. In this case you will not notice anything. If the refresh rate fluctuates (the case in most games) it becomes night and day.
I have a high end PC with a 165 Hz refresh rate monitor with VRR. In my experience at frames over 100 you can’t tell a difference because the FPS is so high. If you’re getting 100 FPS and it dips to 82 FPS briefly, you don’t really notice. At 60 FPS and lower, it actually does have a benefit in smoothing out frames. If you dip from 60 down to 45, it can look choppy if you don’t have VRR
I think sony is the best out right now on pure image quality and best color production of any tv I've seen yet. Whether it be accurate which numbers don't tell the full story with as we have seen multiple times now. Or whether it be jacked up with settings to have an innacurate super colorful image. It can do it all when it comes form an image quality standpoint. I just love sony and there settings and experience I don't think they have anything unforgivable. Tbh it needs vrr ok sounds good, I mean we should get it regardless of what some may say. I think they are still the best. It's easy if you want a gaurunteed gaming tv that has vrr get the lg. If you want a tv show and movie and overall content tv which is what a tv actually is anyways then get a Sony lol. It still games great even without vrr. still my favorite game mode experience with the image also. Also if you sre on console don't even worry as thwy already have built in vsync which is going to help anyways. It's why when playing ps5 I haven't had 1 issue yet on my a90j. I just have never had such an insanely good experience with a tv and a tv that reacts so good with specific settings. The changes you can make on this thing is huge. Very versatile any image you want tbh.
It's actually quite funny to hear so many people talking about "image color accuracy", since it's actually impossible to know what are the "correct colors" for any image. At least in terms of shades; as an example, we all know a rose isn't supposed to be brown, but there is no way of knowing if the SHADE of red being shown is correct or not
I've owned only Sony TV's for the last 20 years. They make a superb product, end of story. Which is why I was very surprised that after spending the last two months researching the replacement for my 2015 55" Bravia, I chose the 65" Samsung QN90A. And I couldn't possibly be any happier with its gorgeous picture quality and gaming awesomeness. I knew I wanted a 65" non oled because my gaming and viewing habits are very burn in friendly. I knew I had a max budget of 2k. And this time around the QN90A offered the gaming and movie features I wanted more than what Sony offers at the same price point.
@@MithridatesOfficial I love this tv as much as ever and it's hands down the best tv I've ever had. The picture quality never stops blowing me away. The solar recharging remote is the best one I've ever used, it's so simple and cool. And I'm pretty sure BestBuy just dropped the 65" price again. I think you'll be just as psyched with the QN90A.
Would be good if they had pedestal type stands instead of legs that have a wide footprint. I wanted to choose a Sony TV for my house but unfortunately they weren't an option because the stand just wouldn't fit my cabinet
I’m always Sony, but let me tell you! I had a SXRD VEGA back in 05’ and had quite a few problems! Bad color filters (2 times) luckily it was under warranty at $800 a pop! Bulbs were also trash and the screen went blank via HDMI connection! Lasted 14 years
I just recently purchased a Sony 85" X91J from Best Buy. The original MSRP was 3495.00 for this model, at that price I wasn't interested. But, Sony lowered the price recently to 2795.00, and at that price, I snapped it up. After much research, I believe this model Sony in this size, at this price, is the best bang for the buck TV available right now.
@@ponty1001 if you look at the LG OLEDs from the last two years, they do not support DTS/DTS:X. I even checked out the QNED TV from them and it doesn’t support DTS. Not sure which LG TVs you are referring to as having the support for DTS to surround but I think you are mistaken
Originally i planned on buying the LG A1 65" for $1599 but Best Buy just lowered the 2020 model Sony A8H 65" price to $1499, and I had a $250 Best Buy Gift Card so i pulled the trigger. My first OLED!! I'm upgrading from a $228 Walmart ONN 65" 2020 Black Friday special so the difference should be striking. The out of the box color, 120Hz motion, Android TV interface, 100+ more nits (brightness) than the LG A1 and of course the perfect black levels sold me on the Sony A8H. Arrives tomorrow. Can't wait!
I’m going to be getting the HT-A9 with the optional 300 watt sub… on paper it looks perfect … genius design, just need a few reviews to see if it lives up to its promise.
Can you do a comparison video with the Sony x85j? Im really interested in this tv but dont see many videos on it. Mostly want it for gaming but some movies.
It's difficult trying to decide between Sony or LG. Do I go with Sony to make the best of overall picture quality or LG just to experience the best of next gen gaming? I feel like I will pick Sony but the two are pulling me in opposite directions
@@mrwalker6026 indeed I will that’s the big gamble! There was a stream a while ago with Robert Zohn and he said we don’t know when it’s coming but it IS coming
@@itsrobotime the problem with any Sony TV at the moment is the Mediatek chip... even if they implement a working VRR there will be limitations with the bandwidth etc that we don't see on LG'S..the Sony a90j already has an inherent problem with 4k HDR at 120Hz due to limitations with said chip and you can definitely rule out any form of Dolby Vision at 120Hz
@@mrwalker6026 this is what draws me to LG, I would have to see side by side videos of SDR upscaling on both TV’s to truly make my mind up. If the difference isn’t that big I might just go for LG
I am looking at the Sony X90CK and the Samsung Q80BD from Costco. I mainly watch TV and movies and do not play games on it. In your opinion, which tv is more suitable for me. Thank you.
Hi, I hope you could reply this question that I have. Near the end about the part where you mentioned when not to get a Sony TV.. one of the reasons were that it wasn't optimized for gaming. Here's my question: I own a ps5, however I mostly play single player story games and almost never play any multiplayer/FPS games. In this case, for a somewhat casual console gamer like me, would you recommend the x80j? As long as there isn't any screen stuttering or major lagging or difficulty to see in dark environments etc, I'm happy! I also watch alot of netflix therefore I was also looking for a tv that supports HDR10 and Dolby vision. I contemplated on getting the LG A1, because of the same reason where my preferred gaming experience would be on a 4k 60hz with HDR10, I was thinking between getting this or an OLED tv. However, some pros to the x80j is that it costs almost 250USD+ cheaper than the OLED, and i read that there's an update coming to sony tv's including the entry level x80j for VRR. Any thoughts on which tv you would recommend me to get? This tv is for my bedroom, the windows are covered with blackout curtains and the only light source would be a ceiling light located infront of the TV space. Ty guys ! :)
I am aiming for the X95J, i.e., Sony's top of the line LCD. But I worry that next year, the top of the line Sony LCD will not only nail gaming (which is important to me) but also have 8K or maybe better dimming zones. Am I suffering from FOMO? Should I wait till next year's Black Friday to get Sony's best LCD TV? Or should I just buy the X95J this year? I also hear rumors that Sony will update their current TVs to support ALLM and VRR this December. Will that fix all the gaming shortcomings of Sony TVs and thus there will be less need for me to wait another year? I have an 11 year old SOny which is working great. It just doesn't have any HDR or 4K features and I have a PS5 that uses those.
@@fatredditmod I did but it was completely by chance as the 65" X95J didn't release in my region. So lucky I dodged the bullet since the X95K should be a significant upgrade. And having not upgraded in 12 years, I would have been frustrated to miss that upgrade by just a few months (since the X95J released so late in the year).
What is the picture profile that is the most accurate out of the box? A lot of the LG hype is around Filmmaker mode… what do I pick on an A90K for the most accurate out of the box colour? Thanks!
Totally agree! My 11 year old Sony still gives great pictures when it's potential is exploited. Has been 100% reliable. It will be replaced when needed with another Sony.
Every samsung TV I've purchased for myself or my family has lasted 10 years and still going strong. Hard to switch up, even with Sony having a better picture in some cases.
Thank you for making this video! I have a Sony 48W600B from 2014 that I absolutely love; it still looks fantastic. But given that I just got a PS5, I wanted something with 4K, so I just ordered the X90J. I know the X90K was just announced, but I can't wait that long, and the differences aren't that big, so I'm really excited to get my new TV in
Do you ever talk about quality control!? I’ve bought two in the last 2 years and they both died! The H950 still under the one year warranty and the A9g the other day, waiting on it to be repaired, less than 2 years old! No warranty, My Pioneer Elite plasma is over 10 years old, still working!
I bought a Sony 65" X900H, 2 1/2 years ago. It was my very first purchase for my new house and it was absolutely amazing. The first thing I watched was NETFLIX which I believe Sony is the only one who has their only calibrated mode for NETFLIX. I was blown away by the picture. Well long story short, my wife recently destroyed that tv with a pair of shorts trying to swat a fly, killed some LEDs I believe. I just purchased the newer X95J and will be picking it up on Saturday. I think I'm a Sony guy from here on out. Thanks for your videos, as they were very informative towards my purchase decision. P.S - I made my wife get rid of all her shorts :)
Samsung - 65" Class QN85A Series Neo QLED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV Sony - 65" Class BRAVIA XR X90J Series LED 4K UHD Smart Google TV Which would you recommend - Main purpose is for streaming movies/shows, not gaming. Want best picture quality that makes things pop.
I own a 65A90J and it is the most amazing TV out their, you will be wowed the first time you see it. The XR processor is something special. I bought the first Sony 4K TVs with the X1 chip back in 2015 (X830C), and was impressed, but now with the XR chip I am even more impressed.
Completely agree my 55 inch a90j is the most stunning tv I've ever seen. Also the way it reacts to settings is nuts. You can get any image you want. People love talking about how accurate they sre out of the box. What some may not realize is just how much color and depth you can pull out of it with its settings. So it has use cases for everyone is my point. I don't don't I've ever seen a tv react so well and change so much with settings. You also have color space options right in front without a service menu. You have balck adjust. You have the reality creation which actually does improve the insge as insane as that is. Everything it has just works not to mention the best noise reduction of any tv on the market lol.
I feel the same way about my Sony w900a. I currently have the 77 a80j and 65 c1. I love em both equally. The funny thing is... with my limited gaming experience on both tvs. I prefer the Sony for my ps5 gaming.
@@sspringss2727 exactly man I prefer using my a90j over my c9 the game mode looks better you can do more with the image on the Sony and it's plenty fast I mean what a 2 to 3 ms difference that's all yeah they are still amazing gaming tvs and tbh the motion that's on imo slightly gives it an advantage the reason it had that extra 2 to 3 ms is that always on motion interpolation most don't realize but that helps alot imo it's why it feels so good when gaming and it isn't like the motion interpolation that you can turn on just that little extra sony puts into it to help smoothe things out its why it has the best natural motion on a panel when not even counting turning extra interpolation on these people talking about bad motion are wrong they latency to quantom they guy that doesn't know with 24p content you have to turn on film mode it was specifically made for 24p content to eliminate judder so these guys listening to a guy that didn't even know what to turn on lol thats why everyone else is saying in content it has great motion because it does some of the best

Only time will tell and currently my time is limited.
I find it weird that Sony doesn't focus more on making the best gaming TVs considering how the PlayStation has been one of, if not their only consistently profitable product line. They should be making MUCH better gaming TVs and pair them up with the PS5 for great offers.
I'm willing to bet the farm that as soon as VRR is available on PS5 it will be rolled out on every single one of their tv's that they promised it for. I dunno what's keeping them, but I feel the reason has to be tied in to rolling them out simultaneously.
@@zahirmulla6715 Depends on what kind of games you are playing. Also, VRR isn't the only factor. The number of HDMI 2.1 ports, input lag, response time, HDR performance in game mode, black levels in game mode are all important when you're paying as much as you are for an A9G. The A9G doesn't even have a 120Hz panel for a start. The LG OLEDs absolutely smoke it when it comes to gaming for the same price.
@@sundarchip honestly ps5 4K 60 is fine! You’re not gonna need more unless you’re pc gaming then you buy a monitor! No matter what you do a Sony tv will always look better

I bought my first Sony ever, 55" XH90, just for gaming on PS4 Pro, and later on PS5. After years of using LG and IPS panel I decided, from now, to buy only Sony. I'm sure they will deliver all gaming features until I get PS5, right now I'm so satisfied with my gaming experience on this TV.
When will Sony A80J 77 have another price drop? Currently $2999 at Best Buy and Amazon. Do you have a price prediction chart? I found you from B the Installer channel.
I am glad you made this video. I was unaware of the HT-A9. The Sony Combo hits all my my requirements, except PC gaming (I have a 3080 ti). The integrated audio solution and the benefit of cleaning up the home theater room makes up for the lack of gaming features in my use case. Thanks for this.
X85j 75 inch or x950h TV. I think x950h is lime $1000 more? I purchased the 950h but it was $2500 out the door. Thinking about returning it for the x85j 75 inch since is almost $1000 cheaper.?? I need it for living g room to watch regular TV, sports and movies. Lots of light in livinroom with windows. 4 windows have film and 3 have shutters.
You have a very compelling point. If you're streaming and have one console the Sony will be great. I'm still contemplating getting the A80J over the C1 because it won't need calibration
I love my Bravia XR X90J and the VRR update is coming soon. I really don't like Dolby Vision honestly. I prefer HR10 120Hz in 4K. its an amazing TV and the AI Engine actually Focuses onthe proper points of the Screen and Enhances the Colors Brightness and Crispness there.
Question stop the fomo how long do you expect a sony led/lcd tv to last in terms of usage hours or years? I have 8700 hours on my current 2013 sony bravia still works perfect was a great tv for 2013 now that i have ps5 im bent on a 4k screen with hdmi 2.1 and def will buy sony again. I dont have alot of bills so i can afford higher end sony tvs. I read that sony tvs last around 60,000 hours estimated. But at least 30,000 and most likely more than 30,000. im thinking i’ll push it to the 10th year see if it still holds up. If it goes on the 11th year and still works i’ll upgrade it regardless i wouldnt expect an lcd screen to last 15 years its fully possible for sure but i def dont think its worth it to pay 4-500$ to fix a 10 yr old tv considering how good these 2021 and 2022 models are. I just hate the idea of waiting until a tv dies before you upgrade it. But of course a faulty tv is an excuse to buy a better one haha
Picked up an X90J yesterday. First time Sony TV owner. Loving it so far. I was looking for the best thing I could get that wasn’t OLED. Had it down to this and the Samsung Q80A. Not regretting my decision at all so far
I wish Sony TVs would include comparable gaming features to the LG TVs (e.g. the C1). I’ve always thought it was odd since PlayStation is a big part of the company and they don’t do much cross product promotion with their TVs. I love their TVs. For a high end price, my choice is always a Sony tv
When I see the first video from Fomo I just subscribed because I know I will learn a lot and the way of explaining the thing are excellent. I buy A80J 65" and really no need for Calibration (OOTB) love the picture and sound. This is my first OLED SONY that is the best if you are not a pro gamer.
I recently bought the LG 65QNED919. It will arrive these days. But I‘m kind of thinking I did a mistake since I wanted to buy the X95J at first. Which one is better for PS5 gaming? I mostly play games on my TV and would like to have the best experience but picture quality is important too. Brightness and a non reflective display would be 2nd most important things for me.
I've had many Sony tv's over the years but my favorite was a 57" rear projection tv. The color fidelity right OOB was spot on and stunning, and every Sony I've owned had that same quality. Their pricing structure though is always high. My tv now is one of the last Panasonic plasma's and I can't see replacing that anytime soon.
My Panasonic plasma just died! I’m so sad. It lasted wellllll over a decade, I think 15ish years! The picture was superb. None of the new TV’s compared so I just kept on going with my plasma. OLED seems ideal but it’s still a bit expensive especially if the organic light is going to dim and burn-in possibility. So I just bought an X80J. 🤞🏼
@@LightMyFirrre Yeah, I got an X85J. Colour is better than the panny, but contrast is not as good, and the angles are *awful*. It's only good for viewing directly-on. I found that enabling the dynamic contrast options (which are off by default) really helped. Oh well!
The way my living is set up is I sit between 7and 11 feet from the tv. The tv is facing a large bay window (so the living room is bright) I have the budget to buy the Samsung qn90a 65in and I like it better but the Sony X95J BRAVIA XR 75in is cheaper (in Canada). Should I go with smaller (but a little bit better viewing experience imho) or with a bit larger screen and compromise on the experience?
You will never get black levels like OLED on a LCD screen, the end. Besides viewing angles are garbage on that TV and it does not even have 4K/UHD at 120 Hz and HDMI 2.1 ports. X900H have lol...
I have a 950G then i buy a CX because i thought is really need it the 2.1 or VRR if i only knew PS5 is not picky on tv i shouldn’t buy the CX, CX is great no doubt but 950 is enough for picture quality hdr and motion handling.
I went back and forth on what TV I wanted to upgrade from my old Sony KDL850. For me the x90j was noticeably better as a whole when compared to the other 2 in the big 3 (LG and Samsung). I’m so damn impressed with this thing. I can’t wait for VRR to come out. Great pick up for anyone
How is the brightness and viewing angles? Most people say it's great, but others say it's very dim and the colours change drastically when looking even at a slight angle of 30 degrees. Considering the X90J, but want these things to be good as well
I bought the Bravia A80H at a $1000 USD discount - but! I’m highly disappointed because….. why was this TV going for retail originally at $2,400 + and I can’t even game on it via HDMI-2? I play PC for competitive games, but was planning to buy a ps5 and a good TV for immersion - now I’m worried that I have a great TV that won’t allow the PS5 immersions for cinematic gaming… Help?!?! Should I return this TV that went from $2400 - $1400 USD?
Is x91j worth $400 more than x85j for 85"? My 2 Sony tvs over 10 years are still working, KDL-55EX500 and 65" Vega projector TV but thinking of upgrading.
Searching for an After Xmas deal on 43" tV. Use case: As monitors for PC in home office. No windows so light is controlled; currently using 2 Hisense 55" h9 tvees after watching your recommendations last year (did at home side by side with Samsung 8000 and was sold!!). I now find that I have to sit too far away and give up much more office real estate than I banked on. I may be able to get away with two 43's and gain back at least 40% of the room I lost. Mostly only concerned with PC productivity but I also do stream Netflix, Prime, Disney and Hulu.... Thanks in advance for the guidance; I really do lok towars your vids for my tv buys in the last few years...
If your thinking of buying the Sony 2021 tv range in the UK then be aware they have launched without the catch-up TV apps and Youview function, If you like your built in apps.
Last march i bought the x900h, and i am still very happy with it. Never earlier had such a bright sharp screen watching tv. With ps5 woww, crisp image. Should be updated by Sony to "real 120hrtz@4k" instead of upscaled as now, but when or if i don't know, also still waiting for vrr and allm update. For months now i appreciate my tv. I bought the x900h because of the Sony ads online as it should be the perfect partner tv for ps5, so hoping for a happy ending !
I just bought a 65in x900h for $1k yesterday and I think even if they never fix the TVs limitations with 4k/120 and vrr, it was still the best option at that price point for me. Motion handling and PQ are what's most important for me, and that is what sony excels at. And I'll always choose visual fidelity over fps in games, so 120hz is kind of pointless for me anyways. I tried cheaping out with a 2019 vizio m series, and it was just a functionally terrible tv. PQ was decent, colors looked great, but it developed a bad flicker, and would regularly brick itself. I was debating between a 55in x90j and a 65in x900h to replace it, but I just felt like I really needed the extra size since it's for a decent sized living room. Hopefully I made the right choice.
Hey I just wanted to ask this question as we are approaching ces 2022… but who do you think will offer a great oled/lcd, for those who are still Leary of Oled, but willing to consider buying an oled, based on the price/features of the oled tv, for 2022… though I am not even sure what I want to do, until we see what Sony/lg announce/release their 2022 TV’s hopefully in late spring/early summer of 2022…
Before watching this, i just bought the x85j so im pumped to know it will suit my needs. I love to game but I don’t do it as much as i did before and i prefer watching tv or streaming
I work in video broadcast production for the last 20 years, I work with $5000-$10000 calibrated HD-SDI professional monitors both from JVC and Sony and I've tried to own Samsung and LG TVs in the past but they were not great. Sony TV's seemed to be closest to what I see on the professional monitors in terms of picture quality.
Which should I get? X90J vs X950H? Does the X950H now have hdmi 2.1? For a bright room, ps5 and mostly regular tv. They are about the same price in Australia.
