I’ve never a reviewer like you. It’s so strangely relaxing. Not all high energy, high intensity. Just a classy calm break down and exactly the info I was looking for. Bless your soul
Hisense has came a long way since this, some of their TVS are brilliant for the price, and surprisingly jam packed with features like HDMI 2.1, USB 2.0/3.0, Nice OS, Freeview, ALLM, Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10+, 4K UHD, Bluetooth 5.0, And alot more. For Something under £400 and has amazing features, id say its one of the best tvs for the price.
Now I’ve watched 17 video reviews on TVs and not one compared to this one. Finally!, this guy goes through every point on every brand thoroughly and it’s in English!! I’m only half way through it and I thought “nah I need to let everyone know that this is the review to watch!!”
Hi really Appreciate your comment and really interested in what tv did you choose from all of these options it would be really helpful. Because i have seen many reviews and I still couldn’t decide, for my conditions i only want a tv for all specially for HDR gaming and movies
Me to my eyes really burning from trying a decent tv for streaming movies and just surfing around/ no gaming. This is my last stop. Thanks every much. Good review.
Hats off, what a splendid, honest and informative review. Really sir u have given one of the best, or maybe the best, of the TV reviews i have ever seen. Thanks for making such great reviews, awesome.
@@Volfas I hear ya with cost... but like it says FOMO an also future proof.. but as we have been transitioning from 10+ year electronics to every 2-5 years... So one example is iOS or Droid if you have the most recent you’ve spent $850-1000 every year or double with significant other so you have the 💵🤔🤔
Samsung and LG does it for me. Best all rounders and the screen quality is far from other TVs that I have tried before (Sony, Panasonic) since we bought our first LG and replaced it with a Samsung after 4 years, we never came back to any other brand other than the two. There is a reason why they own 65% of the market.
They are all around, but my experience is that while they have a reputation on their top of the line tvs, low and mid categorie LGs and Samsungs are most often not the ones to go for. After last years disaster in nanocell picture quality , LGs have recently improved in the mid segment with their improved miniled line, but especially Samsung I would avoid if you have less than 1000 bucks to spend on a tv. I think both Sony and Panasonic have their entry levels put together much better. TCL is another sub 1000 budget tv to advice. And here in Europe, we have Philips that offers a lot at a price where Samsung still offers very little.
LG was the worst tv and refrigerator weve ever had. Switched to TCL and whirlpool and love them both. I thought for sure theyd both be trash because they were so cheap. Nope. My dad always said you get what you pay for and I lived by that for yearsss. While that may be true most times, it's not all of the time. We dont game or anything so maybe that's a big difference
We have LG tv but suddenly won't turn on I don't know why. Maybe the backlight ? So the appliance store recommend us to get Sony tv even thought our plan is go for TCL because of the price. So now we bought SONY Bravia 50' X75 .. I really love the picture quality, the colors and motion it also have X protection pro. The cons is the price it's pricey than to other brand but it's okay the quality is superb and durability.
Hisense sounds right for me.. the analogy for what you mention is British HiFi amps of the 80's and 90's; no fluff, no tone controls, no extras, select input and volume; gold-plated speaker-outs; they focused on the sound! I don't game, I need no extras; I want my Criterion Collection and my very select 4k-collection to look great. BUT; I'm on a budget.. I want panasonic, I can pay for Hisense.
Bought a H9G and had to return it immediately because the motion was terrible and the panel had terrible horizontal and vertical banding. If the panel selection was better it would be a winner but you're really getting the luck of the draw with the cheaper options. Replaced it with an A8H OLED and it is phenomenal.
Dude your video is two thumbs up it’s spot on you broke it down for every brand and you educated the consumer including myself. I am greatly appreciative for such but in addition to that you spoke very clearly you took your time I didn’t have to rewind very very pleasant video I will always reference your reviews when I’m shopping great job!
Im enjoying my Samsung Q90T QLED! I just couldn't live with a OLED right now since its in the family room. I didn't want to risk burn in since the kids watch Disney JR and logo stays up forever!
I love samsung brand, but they didn't implement 10bit matrix in their Q segment and i was a little disappointed. The second con for me is that it does not execute well in gaming mode in terms of local dimming feature... i guess because of the processor isn't capable to manage all the actions needed in that specific scenario (i got that perception when watched video exhibiting both samsung q90 and lg cx oled, which was not compromising any feature).Nevertheless i hate oleds because of anxiety of the pixels getting burnt... Want to ask , does sony have gaming mode and how it performs in that scenario?
Superb summary, I will share this with everybody looking for a new TV now! You really have your (latex gloved) finger on the pulse of current TV products.
Running a Samsung q80t 65 with my Series X and loving it. Took a bit to figure out the audio delay to my receiver. Running eArc out and that fixed the delay.
When you mentioned Panasonic I got pretty excited. Still looking for a decent upgrade from my 60" Panasonic plasma. Holy crap they made a good TV with that thing!
Great video man! It brings your knowledge down to a very uninformed consumer understanding and helps the casuals out greatly. That's a great thing and you are a natural at this!
I would love to see an updated version of this video. And one that addresses some of the problems we are seeing crop up with some brands. TV’s dying and breaking within only a few years. That would help me make a buying decision. My feeling is, no matter how good the TV is, I don’t want it if there are known issues with the model that are likely to appear within a few years. I’m a fan of your work! Thank you.
I have been buying all of my live only Panasonic for TV. I like the quality and images of this brand since 1994. The last models 2022 - 2023 are even better and for gaming not only for movies! By the way 😊 very informative video!
Your voice is so smooth. You tackled the critical and most important information for someone looking for best TV brand. Thank you and you deserve my subscribe.
Stop the FOMO ( Fear of Missing Out ) LOVE 💝 the gimmick(s) 😁 the name , the hat, gloves , glasses ? STF. the best of the best = Top Gun School of TV Reviews. I just bought my second Panasonic tv after 11 years excellent & love with 2011 42" Plasma U series..still at service till now, just upgrade to 50" 4K HDR Led tv HX series 2020 model.
@@GanymedeXD in between those 11 years i bought one LED TV from Sharp & it does not going last after 3 years it brokes, Led display has problem. This is bother to me now also with led's tv im got now.. plasma's tv are much better & durable for years.
I had a Hisense smart tv that broke while I was moving. That tv was an awesome 50" tv. It had crisp colors and clarity. I was so upset that I broke it. I miss that tv!!! You have such a pleasant voice and thx 4 this video. We can finally c what matters to us with knowledge about the Pros and Cons of each make and model. Next video..... motion cameras!?! ;}
Vacuum tubes that it took like a minute to turn on the the back would be like a heater dissipated all that heat in the winter it was fine kept my room warm 😁
Do you also recommendation for TVs that would last for years? we’ve been an LG user since then and their TV would only last for max of 3yrs and will have this white screen on it. i hope this can be read and answered that would mean so much. thank you
Mr FOMO you're the man. I googled this exact subject and was lead to zero. Just randomly came up on my youtube feed. You have a lot of good videos about what people actually need to consider when buying a TV, not the BS wishy wash fake info on most tech websites. Thanks man I'm a subscriber.
In the 90's I had National Panasonic CRT TV. And I fully agree with you when you say Panasonic picture quality is almost at par with Sony, because at that time, I would also feel that if there is one brand that can give Sony a run for its money,in terms of picture quality, was Panasonic. BTW nice comparisons indeed👍👍
After 5 yrs I've get out of my storeroom a.national television bought in 1991/92 waow still going on very clear just a little issue with the loudspeaker
In terms of durability nothing beats panasonic, my refrigerator and automatic washing machine both are more than 10 years old and I'm impatiently waiting for them to break down so I can replace them with new models but I guess we'll stick together until forever.😊
So I was looking into getting the Samsung 65” Q80T because it had a great mix of the features that i wanted (for both gaming and watching in bright rooms) but you literally said that other TVs at that price point ($1500) do the same things better. Which TV did you have in mind.
I have spent days watching videos about different tv's and I no further along. I was leaning towards the TCL 85" series 4, but Hisense shows up on my radar now trying to stay around 2K. I use it mostly for movies and some TV. WOW so much to consider.
that's exciting panasonic finally bringing their oled to the states. Hope they give it some gaming features in the next few years, while i hold onto the CX until it ruins
@@merlinmage6012 it's called a Best Buy extended warranty/replacement plan. If your screen gets burn in they will replace it. I've had it done twice now, i had the c6, then a c8, now a CX, and will baby this CX until next gen tech arrives in a few years that has more features i can make use of. right now the CX has everything i personally need feature wise, only thing i could ask for is slightly brighter panel, but i can wait on that.
@@danny.4506 so you burn in your screens then replace them? You are a ripoff you are not supposed to burn in screen. Doing that makes company lose money and will make things more expensive while they reduce quality good job but i guess the company deserves that since theyre promoting the worse possible gaming tv lol.
Hello There and a Happy Hew Year 2022 to you also. I just want to say that I really enjoy and appreciate the way that you explain things. High End or Lower End, you are easy to follow and your explanations are concise and easy to understand. Thank You for all you do, for so many! Boy, I am used to the Panasonic or Sony tier of devices, but I am now retired and disabled so... Champaign Taste, but Beer budget. UGH! So, I bought a "VIZIO 43" about a year ago and Never again. The Speakers blew within a month of purchase. Then a complete row of LEDs went out, so the bottom half of the picture couldn't even be seen?! This VIZIO wasn't even 1 year old yet?! So I don't want it even if they will fix it, so I threw it out, where it belongs! Now recently, (2 months ago), purchased the "TCL ROKU 50' Series 4" television and I like the picture and it was a breeze to set it up BUT... It will not work with any of my "Bluetooth" devices at all?! NONE of them?! I have Good quality devices too, such as Ear Pods, Head Phones, Speakers, as well as a complete 7.1 Digital Home theater Surround Sound System and Nothing will even be recognized by this TCL?! Now I spent over $1,000.00 per Speaker on this sound system, so i'm not getting rid of it any time soon, so the only option that I have left is to connect via the "Head Phone OUT" connector, but this doesn't really solve any of my issues, because Using that connection Mutes the television's Speakers completely and on top of that you can only transmit Stereo, (two speaker separation), with this connection?! Does any one, anywhere, know a Solution or Work Around for this? Please Help me if you can? Thank you. Keep Smiling...
FYI for Samsung buyers: I came here to see what TV I could get to REPLACE my 26-month-old Samsung UN55NU6900, which half the screen has gone dark. Doing research I found this is a COMMON problem with Samsung TVs. A 2-year-old TV is now worthless since it is "out of warranty" and would supposedly cost more to repair than replace. (Think of the landfills filling with ALL those crappy 2-year-old Samsung TVs!) So my question is, what is the LEAST evil f'n TV manufacturer, with the most longevity in their product?
Costco for warranty. Trying to decide and advice welcome. 65”. Brighter room. Lots is sports watching. Not a ton of gaming. Sony x900 for 1150$ or Samsung q80t for 1500$ or Vizio OLED for 1500$ but not Costco so weaker warranty.
Well whatever the TCL 635 TV can do I think my 2019 65 825 set really looks good seeing how they were trying to be high end and have thousands of micro leds in their big sets. They couldn't sell them at the original asking prices and finally mostly dropped them back reality so I bought it rather than the Vizio Quantem X series at Costco for much cheaper. I didn't want to play the panel lottery and hope I got a good one with Vizio. I also thought the overall picture quality and color balance was better. I'm still quite happy with the black levels and overall balance of the picture and I don't notice any blooming. They have actually updated them a couple of times to add features and fix the local dimming issues in medium and lower settings since I got it recently. Hopefully they'll bring out the Vidrian sets that supposed to bring active micro led to improve things even more but we'll see how it goes. I think they are concentrating on sets using similar setups but less zones and micro leds like the 635 to sell a lot of units and make some money back from the new technology.
got the sony x900h 75inch for my ps5 (yet to be delivered) and so far I am head over heels for this thing, coming from an IPS panel on my previous lg nanocell tv, the contrast and black levels are wayyy beyond what the lg could even come close to, well worth the upgrade : )
I had the Sony x900h and returned it due to dse, ended up getting the nano90 and like it way more for everything it has a softer picture with great contrast and gaming is really smooth
I don't know how you can call the Hisense a great movie-watching TV when your forced to put up with bad stuttering or soap opera effect. Motion is fundamental to a proper cinematic experience.
I've been binging FOMO and RTINGS videos for the last week or two nonstop. I still can't decide what to get. My gut and natural draw keeps going toward the Sony X900H. But then I think maybe I could easily get by and live with the 800h instead. I think pretty much any TV would be an upgrade for me. Currently I really don't watch much if any TV in part.... if I do watch tv I'll be sitting at my computer and use one of my 32" monitors as my defacto tv to stream content on while I cruise the internet on the other monitor. Also..... because my current TV is about 9 years old. A moderately priced if not cheap at the time of purchase Toshiba of all things. Pretty sure they don't even make TVs anymore or at least don't sell them in the US anymore. It's also a 47" TV i believe with about 2-3" bezels, Haha. I bought the thing in college which again was damn near a decade ago. I'm not a videophile (I assume that's a thing.... I know audiophiles are a thing) by any means.... but I do notice imperfections more than normal people. My only must have capability is that the TV needs to play live sports and not look like a blurry and jittery pile of steaming turds..... like my current TV. As far as movies go though..... pretty sure I'd be fine with anything seeing as I'm tolerant of my current tv's movie playing capability already. So I'm pretty sure I'd be blown away by any 2020 tv's movie playing capability. Sports though.... I feel like that has been TV's Achilles heel for forever. Nerds lament about the gaming specs. I'm not a gamer by any means but if I was...... why are people still playing games on consoles and their TVs and not on their computer and just get a 32 or larger actual gaming PC monitor? So... gaming is a non issue for me. Why am I saying this? Hoping someone here with tv tech knowledge will just suggest what I should get. As for the size of screen? The house i just bought in April and live in has a long living room in which the viewing setup has to be lengthwise just because of the room layout. So I'm going to be about 14 feet from the tv sitting directly in front of it.... and that's at the closest.... I could probably push my sofa back yet another 12-18". So at that distance my current 47 incher looks a bit ridiculous. I can't believe just 20 years ago or so and in the 90s we grew up with the average TV size being like 27"..... how did we manage? Haha. So with that distance in mind I'm thinking more along the lines of a 75" TV. I'm fucking kicking myself because the Sunday after Thanksgiving I was perusing bestbuy's app and they were having their black Friday deals. They had soundbar+TV packages going at stellar prices. I wish I truly understood how stellar at the time because the price isn't even remotely close to that now. They had the 75" 900h paired with a solid sony soundbar (reg. MSRP about $700 for the soundbar alone) going for $2000. Better yet.... they had the 85" 900h paired with the same soundbar going for....... $2000. Those prices mere hours later that next Monday and ever since - $2500 and like $3000-3100 respectively. Just went on the app again and I'm guessing they're having their Christmas week sale going because the 85" package is now at $2800..... still.... not close to the 2 grand it was about 3 weeks ago. So..... can someone just recommend a tv for me. Definitely suffering from analysis paralysis here, Haha. Criteria: 1) smooth and enjoyable live sports capability. 2) good movie capability.... ideally toward the high end... HDR..... Dolby vision. Just for longevity. When I buy a TV I intend to keep it for probably 10 years.... like my current one 3) 14' viewing distance. So ideally 75" if not 85" screen. 65" is in play but I'd have to be absolutely blown away by the picture. I'm not sold on oled just because the only content I've seen played on one is best buy and they only ever roll the stock 4k footage I'm guessing every manufacturer owns. You know... the stupid honey dripping/pouring footage. I feel like they've been playing that content on tv showroom floors for like 5 years now. EVERY TV that plays that stock footage looks stellar to me and I can't really tell the difference to be honest. LCD looks just as good playing that content to me as OLED. the Sony x900h again is the one I keep going back to. But I'm wondering if the 800h would be "good enough." Bestbuy has that TV+soundbar deal going for the 75" 800h and the soundbar they're pairing with all the Sony tvs for $1600. 75" 900h package..... still $2500. Is the jump from 800h to 900h worth $900?
@doseofreality100 Your plight sounds all too familiar... I was in your shoes less than a month ago, and my journey led me to an 85" Sony X900H. I, too, watched countless hours of TV reviews and loaded up on pertinent information before my initial trip to the store. I left empty-handed on the first trip, only to do more research at home. ; -) On the second trip, I had my choices narrowed down to three. I wanted to maximize size vs. performance vs. cost. Finally, I spent over an hour looking at the 75" X800H and X900H models side-by-side. In store, there just *wasn't* enough difference visually to justify the price jump to the 900 series, so I ended up coming home with the 75" 800H. The 800H *is* a great TV. I'd be happy to answer any questions that you had on it. It also *is* quite a bit different when you get it home in your living room, vs. the cranked up "vivid" picture in the brightly lit store. Whatever you do, *don't* pay attention to QuantumTV's review on it, he must have gotten a defective sample or something... All in all, I could've been content with it, but... Black Friday came around, and I stumbled on that deal that you spoke of. $1,969 for an 85" X900H is way too good of a deal to pass up. It will roll around again, hopefully. -There was *no sound bar included* in that deal however. My 75" X800H, purchased at $999, was returned. Yes, the 85" X900H for twice the price, is subjectively twice as good. You only get a new TV approximately once a decade. It's an extremely important item in your home, and enriches your life. The fact that you're doing this much research and questioning tells me that you view the subject similarly. As the video's author proclaims, "Stop The FOMO"... *Get the one that you want.* It's only a bit more, perhaps a bit longer payments on the CC, but immensely more enjoyable. :-) Very much worth it.
@FULL HD - tech is always "better" next year. It's a saying that applies every year. This time in 2021 "wait till next year _____ will be better" will be said by many. And again in 2022.... 2023.... etc. As far as OLED being "brighter".... I really couldn't care less. I fail to see the value and justification for the higher premium for OLED TVs when I can barely tell the difference between them and the higher end LED-LCD screens. People rave about the better picture quality..... but there are cons to oled picture-wise too.... a fairly large con being lost shadow detail due to crushed blacks. Their biggest pro - being able to get true black - leads to their biggest picture con.... lost shadow detail. It's the exact same con LCD screens have just on the opposite end of the spectrum with being too bright and blown out and lost detail in bright scenes. So IMO..... do you want to see detail in dark scenes? Go with traditional LED-LCD screens. Want to get the detail in the brightest of shots? Go OLED. IMO losing detail in dark scenes is more crucial because most times the blown out images on an LED TV tend to be in extremely unimportant areas in the scene.... like cloud detail in the sky..... or the sun setting..... or maybe an explosion that blasts your tv with just a screen of white for a fraction of a second. Entire fucking movies or shows can be filmed essentially in the shadows/dark as hell scenes. Maybe I'm wrong but either way I fail to see the justification for the price premium for oled when the higher end lcds are pretty much right there with them in picture quality. That and..... pretty sure no OLED goes up to 85". If it does it would probably be north of $6000. And fuck that nonsense, Haha. For me, sitting 13-14 feet away a 65" oled would feel like a lateral move solely on size alone. Bottom line.... I think OLED is just incredibly overhyped..... and as such - overpriced.
@@stevenjones916 - is the picture quality that much better to warrant the price jump? I think I've made up my mind already though. Probably will make a trip to the store though one more time to look at the 3 I'm somewhat debating between then order it online. There's no way I can fit a 75 or 85 inch tv in my car.
Still waiting for my 2008 Samsung to die so I can upgrade. Think the difference is my model has an internal fan which prevents it from dying so easily like other non-fanless models.
I still got a Vizio from 09. I actually gave it to my mom, and she still uses it. The Blu Ray player I bought with it went out in 2013. Amazing TVs can last that long.
Our samsung lcd tv only had a bad set top box while under warranty, fixed and still working ever since 2008. We are getting a Hisense 70 in tv and the other tv will go to a guest room.
I love the gloves, hat and glasses. FOMO has a style that sets him apart. Why do you want to be like everyone else? Here is the thing with FOMO, his reviews knock it out of the park. Tons of info, accurate, objective and super easy to listen to.
Hello I need your guidance I hesitate to buy these three options LG uq9000 samsung cu 8000 Panasonic LX 800 You are checking brands and models of TV Which one do you recommend? Of these three options
They have some but not vidrian. Vidrian ran into serious problems with panel color uniformity due to some new electrics regulations on what substances they are allowed to use. This is the only issue known to public.
So long as there is no light source that can shine on your screen you won’t regret the purchase. It’s my first OLED and I can’t see me getting another LED ever again.
@@davidkelvon7936 It is for a dark room. I won't buy an LED, but I'm not going to pay $1500 for an OLED, when I could buy the same quality in a QLED for $900 in the same size.
@@dmimcg that isn’t entirely factually accurate. QLED doesn’t get true black at bare minimum. Beyond that it depends on use case, for instance with vrr on QLED gamma shift is greater than on OLED. Then there’s viewing angle and a single HDMI 2.1 port to consider as well. I could go on but having “test drove” the Q90T at a friends I’d hardly call it the same quality, and at a higher price point than the BX currently I doubt it’s better than it in picture quality.
What do you recommend? I bought my wife the QLED Samsung 80 for the bright room and it looks great. I am looking for something for a dark room where I play playstation in the 49-50" size. To me, I'm leaning towards buying another QLED for $900 vs the OLED for $1500. I know the blacks won't be as good, but $600 is a lot.
Given the crispness of OLED I’d probably get a TCL if I couldn’t swing the LG. That being said the LG CX will likely see a price drop when it goes on clearance as the C1 is right around the corner. I got the 55” CX for $1400 on a Black Friday sale. The 48” will likely not go on sale as its quantity available is directly related to the number of 72” panels as they are cut from the same sheet.
FOMO - With the recent reports that TCL TVs may be a security risk, do you feel consumers should still consider them? Any thoughts... maybe it's just their Android TV, maybe both Android and Roku... what about Hisense... Is this a "Chinese" manufacturing concern or do you think it's "nothing to see here."
Yes Hisense is China manufactured. Skyworth also. Yes, there's a video that these are all security risks. The TV has a camera which they can always access in China.
I got a 4K QLED Smart 55-inch Hisense TV that had better HDR than I'll ever notice (local dimming zones), 1000 nits of brightness and a 120Hz native refresh rate for about $700 and to this day I feel like I robbed somebody. The TV has since been discontinued on Amazon as far as I know. Insane value for the money.
Really enjoy your videos - like the simplification / explanations however just like everything else, it just leads to more questions lol... I do have a question though - looked at your "buying chart", however it your low-mid section i see you listed the Samsung Q60 which is a model i was thinking of, or another Samsung model which you didn't list, the AU8000. Looking at getting a 65" tv in the $1000 cdn range. Why did you list the Q60 vs the AU8000 - i can't see a lot of difference other than loss of composite connections.
TCL 4 or 5 Series tvs are good for the price. Have a 4 series for almost 3 years now and have not experienced any hardware issues. Something to note tho is the hdr on the cheaper TCL sets is mostly poor for gaming, but is fair enough for movies/shows with the right settings. Also has very low input lag and great color accuracy for the movie preset, right out the box. If you want better quality and reliability tho, I would look into LG or Sony.
My Vizio P55-F1 does not display Dolby Vision from any HDMI inputs. Xbox or Fire TV Cube. HDR is fine even from HTPC. Did not about HDMI problem when Buying it's My 3rd. Vizio 1st. supporting any kind of HDR. Thinking of 65" TCL next.
Thanks for the video ♥️ ........ Which one is better especially in lifespan... (TCL 43 s5400a) or (Samsung t5300) or (skyworth 43 Google tv)........ please reply 🙏🙏🥰🥰
THANKS for all the well made informative videos! I thought I should share with you my "nightmare" experiences I have been having with SONY OLED TVs, I am 83, thus I have purchased quite a few TVs in my years, but had never had one DIE on me until now! Have they ever heard of Quality Control? My 1st OLED was an LG - no problems ever and after a couple of yrs I sold it and invested in a SONY 77A80J - It WAS da Cat's Meow, I loved it! It died in 7 months w/o any signs/symptoms .... but....Sony got me excited by telling me they'd like to replace it with a new 77A80K, guess what it too DIED in under 3 Months....I am on the verge of receiving my 3rd replacement, skeptically excited - this week they deliver me a 65A95K! I hope and PRAY that this one will not demonstrate that lack of Quality Control I have been experiencing!
When I was stationed in Okinawa for a couple of years. I went with Panasonic's 720 HD flat screen over Sony's option at the time. When I got back from a deployment. I wanted to upgrade to a 1080 and found myself going with Panasonic again. My current plasma Viera still looks better than most of the stuff offered by the others. So again, I'm looking at Panasonic over the others. It's going to cost me more and is harder to get. But I'm willing to put in the effort for a quality product.
