Amazing video i enjoyed it i went with the XM5'S because the earcups are like soft pillows in your head and are very comfortable the sound quality is best for me and they are light enough to wear them for hours i got them in the best color in my opinion out of the three offered the midnight blue ones

Getting xm5

How are the hinges holding up? I saw a lot of people who experienced broken hinges on their xm5 and mine hasn’t broken yet but it does move laterally when I move them and see the middle metal hinge so worried

After the first few days, the hinges weakens a lot. The two ear thingy swings while wearing. It hurts for me to wear it, got to take off every 15 mins. Battery is great, anc is great, but why is it not in metal? Why use plastic. The cushions very deflated for me, it has stripes (like scars) for some reason. Sound quality is fine, but when u listen to musics, the Apple earbuds (wired) sounds so much better and much more comfortable. The only problem is it’s painful, doesn’t sound as good as the Apple wired earbuds, poor build quality (not all as my friends’ xm5 are fine)

Best Over Ear, 2023!

I was really excited for these when they were coming out. I went to try them out right away when the store demo unit was available but was already thinking I'd be walking home with a pair before even auditioning them. Really wanted to like them but felt underwhelmed by their sound quality and I'm also not an audiophile or anything but felt like they aren't worth the price (420 euro if I remember correctly). I like how they look not a fan of all the plastic tho especially for the price. I went back and gave them another try when price dropped to 300 euro and for some reason sounded better so maybe there was something wrong with the first few demo units I tried. Basically just want to ask what do you think of the sound quality from these as a musician? Paired with an iPhone or a mac. I've done so much research and have yet to come to a conclusion on what headphones to get and have since gotten another pair of airpod pro 2's by default.

How is like to wear your glasses while using the headphones?

How durable is it, have the headphones deteriorated very much over time?

Sent mine off for warranty after less than a year of use. The touch pad had been randomly triggering after a few months of use then about 8 months in the headphones stopped charging. I supposedly they got liquid damage where part of the board had corrosion, which I genuinely think was from the condensation of my natural ear/side head sweat from using them as my daily driver for most of the time I had them. Not covered under warranty. My XM3’s have still kept going for a good few years now, under the same conditions I put the XM5s through. So I’m rather disappointed as all they are offering is for me to buy another set for half the cost of a new set, which will inflate the overall value I’ll have paid by a considerable amount. It’s a shame as they really are great headphones, but I think the Quality control of Sony in general isn’t as good as it used to be.

How good is xm5's noise cancellation really? If a person continuously sings shrill high notes, will it block all the sounds, will the sound of a dog barking be blocked as if there is no dog there? Only the quiet like on a deserted island is what I'm looking for. The Sony store near me does not allow product testing.

How is the mic quality for teams calls?

How is the connection while flying? Does it the Sony XM5 come with a jack to view movies while flying? Thanks in advance 🤙🏽
