Just got my XM5 on release date here in Mexico. Two weeks later I have to return it because they keep loosing charge madly in rest mode. Gratefuly, I received a brand new pair today because of the guarantee. Thank you, Sony. I think. Great video, boys.
The 'Two Fingers' to Speak to Chat on/off is a game changer. I loved that facility, but found it a pain in the neck to fish my phone out when I wanted it on or off. (note: only had these excellent headphones for a week).

Great information and entertaining is hell. I laughed and laughed. Still loving the XM4 amongst my collection. I'm not sure I'll be adding the xm5 but we'll see if it price drops.
The best way I found to get good sound on my XM5 is with CLEAR BASS set all the way down at -10, and all the eq bands in the middle (at zero). When it's set to 0 (in the center), it's already way too strong and makes the bass way too loud. Shut it all the way off, and you'd have the best possible sound.
@@datdudeinred The CLEAR BASS is the thing that messes up the mix. When I turn it all the way down the mix sounds good. The other eq bands are fine in the middle. If you like the overpowered bass @datdudeinred, enjoy. Each to his own. Over time, I've ended up turning up the high band one notch, and I like that.

Each to his own I guess. But I don't think you're hearing what the mixing engineers had in mind. If you have a chance to listen to a song on "flat" monitors, and then the same song on on the headphones I think you'll see what I mean. By the way, I changed my settings: I still have CLEAR BASS at -10, but I have 6.3k set to 1, and 16k at 2. And the other bands at 0. To my ears, this sounds "flat," which I like because it allows me to hear what the artists and engineers were going for.
Ohhhhhhh!!!! I have speak to chat enabled(which I never use) , and everytime I start a work teams call with the headset, I cannot hear the other side the moment I start speaking. I'm only getting why now -_- Thanks so much! You really helped a lot.
I was like "OMG" why do they keep randomly switching to my MacBook Pro? Then I just looked at the Sony app and while listening, I could see it switching back. TY so much that option is badly worded but it does work.
initially, I went into watching this video because I had just bought these headphones a few days ago and needed some pointers and clarification on a few things. But after fully watching the video, I had to subscribe y'all are too funny not too haha
I have noticed on the XM4's that if I change the EQ using manual or custom it kinda turns the bass down, even if I turn the bass bar higher to try and match it, its not as rich and punchy as just leaving it on normal/default, have you noticed this?
With my XM4 I leave EQ on Sony's app off because my phone's built in EQ handles much better and if I tweak from Sony's app it dulls the sound, I think adjusting EQ from Sony's app adds an over processed sound profile on top of built in EQ.
Sony messed up the fidelity since the xm3’s. XM2 is still the headphone of choice for me. Yes you got to subtractive eq and sweep a son wav to eq it as evenly as possible. But still the best imo.

Best channel about headphones on RU-vid for me. And I love that humour 😄. I am owner of sony wf1000xm4.. and bose qc45 (got them cheap..) and thinking about sony wh.. but still not convinced with xm5 over xm4 ( price to quality ratio )

With the "fixing" option, Sony might be thinking of the definition of "fix" which is: *1.* _[with object and adverbial of place]_ fasten (something) securely in a particular place or position. or *2.* decide or settle on (a specific price, date, course of action, etc.).
I used to get paid an embarrassingly large amount of money to solve problems (read instruction manuals) for lazy (illiterate?) corporations. And I didn’t even share comedic commentary as a value-add (except in my own head.). I have very loud hispanic neighbors playing boom/plain music pretty severely loud, making it hard to study/hear video tutorials or lessons. Please recommend wired headphones (a mic is a plus) that block out the outside boom music/noise.

Hey nice video. I just got my headphones and I’m comparing them to my Sennheiser momentum 4 I can say the momentum have hurt my jaw and I’m trying these to see if they’re better. When I receive a call when I’m wearing these Sonys, the caller ring and volume is very low. It’s so low that I can’t hear except the music stops so I know a call is coming in. Can anyone help me with this issue? Also speak to chat is great but it sometimes doesn’t go back to hearing music. I have to put my hand over the right cup and then i can hear the music again. That’s not right?

hi i love your videos. i have XM5. it bard new, i don't know you have maybe same problem. when I connected with Bluetooth it working fine but I connected XM5 with cable they sound terrible if headphones are ON, but if turn OFF and connect with cable it sounds like 20$ headphone like no clear sound. if you find something similar can let me Know what to do??
Did anyone solve the teams call problem? - If you are connected on MS teams via XM5 and for some reason the call paused or the audio changed to speaker, it doesn't switch back to XM5 even if you change the device settings on teams.
How do you talk to someone using wh 1000 mx5 for a long periods of time? It seems to not allow it. I can only find two ways that you can talk to someone, using the right earcup or you start talking to them.
I am still torn between XM5 and XM4 😅. I've been watching a lot of reviews, and lots of them, yet still hasn't been able to decide. These Sony headphones are so good bumy their own right ...
I went with XM5 because I combed through 100s of reviews for each and a common theme was that they're pretty equal for music, but the XM4 is sub standard for calls, so it depends on what you want them for. I use headphones for calls and music hence why I paid the little bit extra and went XM5
Great video as always. Not a fan of the audio DB if it actually limits volume. I like my music loud at times and do not need another parent to tell me how to listen to music.

@@DHRME honestly, it’s mostly for the gym and at home before go to bed (i listen to some celine dion 🤢 ok just joking). I know that wired headphones sound ´s better, but i better like wireless just for theeeee … wireless haha (this is the only way i can explain :) ).
Xm5 Don't buy them... the headbands break in under 12 months and Sony won't replace their poor engineering , instead they expect you to pay another 60% on the original purchase price to get an 'upgrade' . Not to mention the other issues like, sound and mic dropping out mid call.. unit turns off even though fully charged... changing settings randomly and can only change it back on the app... go elsewhere.. Sony has created a really expensive disposable item
