In this video, I test the image quality of the new SONY ZV-1 as an advanced user. The SONY ZV-1 is put to the test using its SLOG2 picture profile and surprisingly holds up very well. The SONY ZV-1 has proven to be perfect for beginners but can also be as advance as the user wants it to be. The image quality in this video speaks for itself and I'm thrilled to share the professional looking result of the SONY ZV 1.

Is th 67 Nd filter bigger than the camera ? Still fit in pocket ? Will the weight damage the motors of the zoom?

Slog2 with its default settings.. the LUTS I use recommend minimal adjustments to the default Slog profiles. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the video!

Do you recommend that magfilter to thread an nd filter on? I know it was meant for RX100. Does it fit the ZV-1 ok? Thanks.

Thanks for checking out the video! Yes, I do recommend the magfilter adapters.. I’ve used it previously on my rx100vi.. I’ve had no complaints and it fits just fine on the ZV-1.. you just want to be as precise as you can be on install because it doesn’t ship with a placement guide.. hope that helps!

Cool , new sub here. Have any videos on hlg2? I heard it’s good too. I heard slog isn’t that great in low light . Thanks for the video. I have the zv1 love it

dmn88mia Thanks for the sub and for watching the video! I use HLG2 the most out of any other picture profile! It’s absolutely the best of both worlds. The flexibility of grading if you want to and the convenience of a minimal post workflow. I’ll get some videos out about that in the coming weeks.. SLOG can be a hit or miss on any Sony camera but that’s all dependent on the settings LUTS and additional equipment, etc.. in the video. I was just trying to see how far I could push the ZV-1! And yes, I do agree that using SLOG on a 1” sensor won’t yield good results in lowlight.. additionally I don’t think the SLOG workflow is ideal for someone looking to pump out a bunch of videos like say for RU-vid or other social platforms but it can be done. Congrats on your new Sony Zv-1! You have an incredible camera there!
