Check out Sophia the Robot drawing her creator and the Founder of Hanson Robotics Limited, David Hanson.
To get Sophia to draw, the Hanson Robotics team collaborated with Patrick Tresset, an artist who uses robots and autonomous computational systems to create art. Together, Patrick and our team were able to program Sophia's software to turn photos into sketches, and then translate the sketches into lines and curves in three-dimensional space. Then, we were able to augment the previous work of Tresset at this stage using a general-purpose inverse kinematics engine to create arm and hand control in 3D space instead of 2D. This resulted in Sophia being able to create a custom portrait from one look at her human subject in just 7-10 minutes using her general-purpose, small human-like arms.
