i wasn't in a sorority in college but i was in something very similar at ut austin and i have to say being able to have a group of girls that will have your back over anything is so valuable!! if you're starting college this year, put yourself out there and friendships will start to grow!! :)

I joined my sorority 2 years ago and it was easily the best decision that I have made in college. They are my hype women, my best friends and are always supporting me to be the best version of myself.

I'm not even rushing and have been out of college for years, but for some reason I still love watching your sorority sit down videos. Also, I rushed as a junior since I transferred schools. I rushed my freshmen year but the house wouldn't be available at the college I was transferring to so it didn't make sense going through with rush.

Don’t try to fit into sororities just because of how the girls “look!” This will show when they’re “rating” you and will also result in both sides being unhappy with a match. Be YOURSELF! This is the best way to make genuine friendships and sisters. When I say all kinds of girls rush, I mean it! Put yourself out there.. this is how to make the best of college. And tbh if you’re being rated on looks, you wouldn’t want to be in that sorority anyway or you’ll just be miserable. These relationships will connect you personally and professionally so pick the ones that you feel you will succeed in 💕 It’s also ok to ask about hazing! Our sorority was soo against hazing the new members and active members weren’t even allowed to wear different bud day colors because that was considered “hazing” Honestly, that makes things confusing but at least I knew I’d never be hazed Also, something to consider: yes, it will cost a few thousand.. and in my sorority, if you missed mandatory events you were charged even more money!

i have always found sororities to be the most interesting and weirdest things lol! Where i'm from, you usually go to school either in your home city (if it's big) or to a city nearby... so you either live with your parents until you graduate (or longer) or live in a "family house" where usually an old lady rents out the rooms in her house. Sororities are not a thing, universities do not have housing so you live wherever you want, and so your community is based on your classmates and, if you have any luck, your house mates.

Can/are the sorority dues part of financial aid or is the all out of pocket and separate from financial aid?

In my experience, it’s separate from your normal financial aid. But the sorority does have scholarships you can apply for once you get past your first year I think!

I believe it depends on the school. At my school, LSU, the sorority fees are added to your LSU tuition or fees. If you have extra financial aid, it can be applied to the sorority fees, but you don’t get special financial aid from your school for Greek Life.

Never even had the thought of wanting to join a sorority until watching your videos! I honestly never wanted to because girls can be so judgmental, but you make me want to go for it anyway!!! I would be an older student rushing as well, I would rush as a junior
