We like high speed RELIABLE internet. Router with a Verizon & AT&T cards, plus Starlink. Yes we pay, but it’s that important to us.

We use multiple gateways: GL-iNet Spitz AX with AT&T prepaid sim & T-Mobile sim from FMCA), campground Wi-Fi (seeing more sound Wi-Fi systems at campgrounds these days), Verizon phone hot spots, and Verizon Inseego MiFi. Somedays even then there is no Wi-Fi or cell service so we just communicate the old fashion way using 2 tin cans connected by a string and watch DVDs.

We’ve had SL for about two years now. Have camped in some wooded areas. Never had a problem getting a signal. There is an app for your phone that you point up to the sky that tells you what area is good what area is not,and with the 71+ feet of cord that comes with the starling, we never had a problem. Not to say that it won’t happen at some point down the road. I hope I have spelled everything correctly after watching your last video.😂

Hi Guys! I've been seeing some chatter in RV groups but did not know what it truly was about. Thank you for the clarification however this is a real bummer since we have the T-Mobile that we take with us when we go in the RV. We were upfront and honest about what we planned to do and it was the recommendation of the T-Moble store we went to. We have been using it for nearly 2 years. We don't full time and take 2 longer trips per year then local stuff for long weekends so I will be interested to see what others come up with. I work remote so it is important to have internet a few times a week for work, but my Mr and adult kids will think the world has ended if they don't have internet.

3 years full time and been on every network, booster, external antenna etc. cell coverage varies and usually is non existent. Went to Starlink and it’s the only thing close to consistent. In the west, outstanding. East with trees, site selection is key. While I have a roof mount, often we need to find a spot on the ground with less coverage. Even with obstructions, Starlink delivers decent results. Currently a T-mobile, they provided the best deal and coverage is on par with other provides.

I bought the cheetah you mentioned. I often wondered why other tubers on this topic don't mention this device. One reason might be that the carrier sees it as a tablet/iPad instead of what it is., a router on the user end. It isn't a hot-spot and it isn't a tablet/iPad. It is a very cheap monthly option. For me, using Verizon, which is my bundled carrier the cost is under $20 a month and unlimited data. Again a tablet plan and and simm card needs to be for tablets. Haven't needed to use anther carrier yet. Have used it on both coasts with no issues. I think you mentioned it in your video on the device, it can use Starlink or Ethernet piped internet, so it is one WiFi (SSID & password) no matter which route is providing internet. I am using a roof antenna for the inputs (cellular) for better range. Output is split, two to that antenna and two to a poynting puck inside the RV. Note, all four WiFi antennas are close so signals been great inside and outside the rig. The external has helped and at one campground in the wooded zhills of PA. I've been able to get some signal in spots that failed in previous stays. Note, by some, I mean for texting and getting emails or maybe a call.

What frustrated me are a few things. One Tmobile reps were at every RV show we attended pushing this product, they specifically targeted the RV community, including us. Also I can understand the increase but from $60 to $160 is insanely high, especially for folks like us that are sometimers, not even part timers. Without good affordable connections we won't be able to RV as much. If there was an option to turn it off or go yo the home plan when not using I would pay the $160. Not sure what path we will take now. Wait and see approach for now.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but it seems that T-Mobile knew about this "issue" very early on, and let it happen because I suspect that they wanted to be able to claim a much larger user base. Apparently, they were content with the $40 or $50 a month for quite some time.. Now, I am guessing that corporate greed kicked in, and now they're looking for more money. If I were affected, I'd not only cancel the line for the home internet, I'd look at every other T-Mobile line or product that I had and cancel those as well. Reality is that it's nothing more than corporate greed. If they lose enough lines do to their nonsense, well, they might consider the consequences the next time.

Most RV Parks around us (W-NY) have free Wi-Fi. McDonald's? Other public places? We haven't traveled in about 5 years, but I don't recall having an issue finding some type of free WiFi. I don't recall a park/campground without it? When we had our seasonal site we were to the back end of the Park. I bought an extender/signal booster that serviced about 15 of us. But that just took the existing signal and amplified it. We only used our Verizon mobile WiFi a couple times road side. Just some suggestions, I'm a former IT manager at a large company, retired now. Maybe an “authorized “ dealer many of Verizon stores etc are not Verizon but a “franchisee “outlet. Look closely at the signage on the counter in small print it will say that. ( Some) Dealers have no problem stretching the truth to get the sale. As an fyi I had terrible service a couple years ago with t mobile and home service that didn’t work properly in my area .. returning the device was a nightmare. Good luck to all those needing to return the router ( or be charged a bunch! ) after the account is closed .. they lost the ability to send me a return tag and authorized stores couldn’t help me ! I had to find a “real” t mobile store. It’s then I realized there weren’t any near me .. tons of dealers though.

I'm not sure how T-Mobile is going to do the tracking since they use dynamic IP addressing. My T-Mobile Home Internet IP address bounces around... sometimes the system geolocates me in Nashville (about 6.5 hours away from where I actually live) and sometimes in California. The fact they don't use static IP addressing (where your IP address doesn't change) is why T-Mobile Home Internet is incompatible with some streaming services like Hulu - Hulu thinks you've moved every time T-Mobile changes your IP address.

I have it. Have used it in Tennessee and South Dakota so far. It’s 4G but we can watch tv or stream RU-vid tv without any problems. We only activate when we go on vacations. Happy so far. I know it’s not the greatest option out there but works for us.

@@EndlessRVing I do not use this, I heard promising things and wondered what your thoughts are.

Well since I work for ATT, cells are 5G and can work as hot spots. I get unlimited data as an manager on all devises….but also have Starlink that uses a PVC pole strapped to the RV ladder when stationary. If needed it comes with a tripod stand that can be set up anywhere within the reach of the cable….all I pay for is the Starlink….we have plenty of data for streaming video via our DT service and others link such as Netflix, HULU and others……..

If I had a nickel for every camper that needed internet...I'd have enough money for internet while camping....enjoy the outdoors, the internet will be there when you get home.

We live in our 5th wheel (stationary in a park) and the wifi here is horrible And forget about even working when it's windy Lots of people in this park live here and have lived here for years And like was mentioned above, a lot of us work out of our rigs and rely on decent wifi

T-mobile sucks and has for a long time. I have AT&T, Verizon and T-mobile. In 9 out of 10 cities I have visited, AT&T and Verizon tethering to my iPad is nearly always 80 to 160 meg down. T-mobile is 20 meg or worse, far worse, most of the time.

Why get angry? The agreement stated it was for home use only. That's like being angry at a cop for pulling you over when you were doing 20 over the speed limit.

Because taxpayers funded much of the infrastructure. Both broadband and 5g. Since 2020, 9 billion dollars of taxpayer money has been used to build out America's 5g network across the country, then it's fully privatized and sold back to us at absurd rates with nonsensical data caps.

I have a question on the outside storage on a RS-36 Thor Magnitude. Can you put a 40 gallon water bladder in the storage bays? Will it hold up with 400 lbs of water?
@EndlessRVing

Not really sure. We recommend reaching out to Thor to make sure you get the right answer. 👍
