I uploaded this because it isn't on youtube already for some reason, at least not in a watchable form. Also this was a good chance to test the video quality on the DVD recorder I found on the cheap, it is a damn shame most PAL DVD recorders don't display 60hz because it really complicates things.

If there were ever a Soul Calibur movie (which will, and should, never happen), Tom Hiddleston would be perfect for Raphael.

Funny you should say that. There were plans for a live action movie but it got scrapped. The plot of it would have been very different from the game though.

xxflipthugxx In the game's lore, Seung Mi-na studied the same staff style Kilik uses under Edge Master to complement her own Seung Family sword style taught by her father.

Shame they took these out in future games (though completely understandable, seeing as their basically extra animations that don't affect the game in any way).

But fighting IS dancing. Just with the extra option of hitting someone. Take a fighting scene, erase the enemy, and the weapon/hits. The character in action is basically dancing

Yes, he’s just dancing. Morris, hate to say it, but it’s not necessarily like that. There’s fighting to protect yourself, or to defeat your opponent, and then there’s ‘fighting’ to put on a performance. A majority of the demos show the forms that the characters use in combat, with fast strikes and even a few evasive maneuvers. With rapier fighting styles being very footwork-centric, I can understand the connection between Raphael’s dancing being tied to his actual fighting style, but again, his movements in the demo don’t indicate ‘careful and calculated swordsman’ with decisive thrusts and ripostes, they indicate ‘flamboyant performer’.

I've memorized and mastered kiliks exhibition. I can do all his techniques. I trained with a log to practice it. One of my favorite games ever

Cool I've been learning nightmare's exhibition for cosplay, it hasn't been easy given the arm that he uses to twirl the sword is the deformed one, I've had to make some adjustments to the costume to do it.

I devoted waaaaaay more hours to this one game than any entry in the Smash series. I get sad sometimes thinking of the days long gone when I'd play this with my friends after school.
