The Champion of Mortal Kombat has forseen Li Mei's treachery. Li Mei must not be allowed to defect to the Dragon King!
You had to expect it. I've always been a fan of Liu Kang, so I just had to add him into the mix. He turned out well, but then again, there's really not much to his character design outside of Kung Fu pants and shoes, long hair, and spiked bracelets. Granted, he doesn't have a stereotypical "Bruce Lee" yell/voiceset, but that's to be expected. I guess it's for the best that Namco decided not to put something like that in the game. Twenty bucks says everyone and their mom would abuse the heck out of it.
Unfortunately, for being the Champion of Mortal Kombat, his stats are pretty pitiful, especially in the HP department. He has enough Skill Points for a decent Boost skill, but that's about it. Yeah, really not built for Special matches.
I made sure to actually spend a few hours in Training Mode before filming this video so I could learn how certain attacks string together. Shortly after I'd gotten a decent idea how Maxi's moves work, a friend of mine asked me to play online with him. I ruined him so bad that he absolutely INSISTED I must've been button-mashing. Mission Accomplished.
A couple parts of this video really make me question the hit detection in this game. Look closely at 0:44 and 1:32 and see what I mean.
...And I only just realized how much I relied on the A throw during the whole fight. Blargh.
