Not hitting high notes have nothing to do with puberty. Also he is singing in falsetto, u can do that at any age. He should have been able to sing it like he used to.
And this is when the cute starts to wear off and mother nature kicks in. No more falsetto, the balls are starting to drop and the barotone is taking over. Can't fight mother nature.

Yeah man, puberty had him at that really weird phase where he's halfway into his new adult voice but parts of his old childhood voice are hanging on for dear life. I remember when I thought I lost parts of my range forever but I was able to get some of it back once my voice settled at its "final" adult tone; an even better example is the fact Jase STILL sings this song in its original key.
And all facts about that end riff. There's a few parts throughout the performance where you can tell that he hadn't quite mastered how to rearrange the notes on the fly but he absolutely NAILED that ending! He was on the right track - ya'll gotta hear him today! Man is COLD on the vocals
Homeboy lead singer sounds like he went through puberty since this 'cut' went on the radio. Maybe he didn't want to try those 'high notes' in front of that Apollo audience.

Lol... nah. The lead singer had to adjust his performance, as his voice was deeper from going through puberty, and handnt gotten comfortable with his new voice yet. You can hear him changing various melodies to lower intervals to avoid high notes. Smarter than cracking and having your voice squeaking on stage.
In the middle of puberty. I use to sing around that age and that shit use to throw your voice off every other day. 😂 one day you squeaky later on your voice deep lol 😂 voice cracking all the time lol still killed it tho y’all tripping 🙌🏽🔥
He was STRUGGLING. Puberty him him HARD. But it was still a great performance. Unfortunately when you have a hit song like this and you’re still growing you lose your popularity just b/c ppl can’t connect with your music anymore. They’re like..this isn’t how the song sounds.
