This is the Final Madame Ginko Quest that's only available in NG+ and it's Seth. You get to see Seth standing now like in SMT NINE instead of him always flying in the air. Wow something that finally has an Pierce attack??????? Yeah, Seth is like the only enemy that can pierce through resistance, lol. Just another boring fully scripted Super Boss fight, but whatever. I already complained that NG+ has little to no content and this is it, it's just embarassing. And no, I don't count the final floors of the boring Soul Matrix dungeon as NG+. Ever since they stopped doing EX dungeons, NG+ has become a big failure in the game series. Soul Hackers 1 actually had an interesting end game dungeon, NG+ dungeon with a super boss fight. This is completley stripped from SH2.
I just want to add, you can easily cuck Seth with having full Gun Repel party as that's the only attack he can use with a Megidoloan. Seth from Digital Devil Saga 2 feels embarrassed of what he has become in this game.
This is all that's of worth in NG+? That's kinda sad, though I think Soul Hackers 1 equally dropped the ball a bit with its NG+. Though I'm probably in the minority there.
There are actually 2 more quests before this, but it are just regular scripted pattern bosses. I guess you refer to the NG+ where the ''answer'' matters to keep someone alive right? You could still transfer your save file to tackle the extra ex dungeon.
If only the DLC demons were part of a dungeon like the Sea Ark it could've been interesting instead of just "you paid? ok here you go, and no level restriction lol"
@@BuffMaister Actually in regards to Soul Hackers 1, what took me out of it is what happens right at the beginning of NG+. When you boot NG+ up and run into Kinap again. Hitomi asks you if you know him. Because you're in NG+ the protag can respond with 'Yes'. When I saw this, I thought that NG+ would offer tons of different dialogue options and the like allowing things to be recontextualized or even some parts of the game being completely changed (Wouldn't it have been interesting if we could have nipped that Yuichi problem in the bud, or what if we were able to tip Lunch off about what was REALLY going on with his dad?). But unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Also I'll always hate that particular choice because it feels so damn random.
I don't know why so many people hate on this game. If you completed it then it must wasn't an issue cuz there's no way I'm going to waste time on a game I don't like
It's because it's not Persona, and thanks to how well Persona 5 did a lot of new SMT fans want Persona 5 to be the standard of the SMT franchise- When really among all the Spin Offs of Shin Megami Tensei, Persona is the one that is the outlier of SMT story. One good way I heard to describe Persona and other games of the SMT Franchise is this. Persona is a game about Psychology, while the rest of SMT is about Philosophy- And this leads to wildly different story telling. Persona will go into more in depth storylines to help you understand what is going on in a characters head and how they think, whereas other SMT won't go as in depth but they also show of what these characters will do because of what they believe is the best for the future.
I want to thank you. The road to the Platinum Trophy was a miserable time. Then I learned that there was also Seth, and Ardha, to beat as the game's secret super bosses. After getting the Platinum, I had thought of beating the two bosses to cap off my time with this game But after seeing your fights with both of them, I have decided to call it quits. I am not going to spend any more time mapping out fusions, and making very specific demon builds, just to beat these two. I got the Platinum Trophy already anyway, there's no reason to beat them other than bragging rights. I'd rather just preserve my sanity and move on to a different game than to spend any more time with this game So thank you, for dispelling me from my trance and freeing me from this game
I enjoyed the game in overall, I'm mostly ranting how the game has changed from what it was. Now, I don't have much good things to mention as I just see this is a Atlus JRPG. I'm way to critical how SH2 has become from what it was before, and you can see towards what audiance they want to push this to. Just some things that I can think of now. Good Atlus JRPG You can level up demons I like Saizo Graphical style (I'm not a graphical hound, it was fine for this game) No random encounters (It doesn't really matter, it's preference) Bad DAY 1 DLC Annoying battle voice spamming Annoying Navigator voice spamming Boring dungeon (Soul Matrix Dungeon Mainly as that has no changes) Lack of NG+ content No Ex dungeon Running Speed skill Buff (Seriously?) Story pasing with cut content that never made it in the game Figuring out which demons can learn what elemental skills Most mechanics are just blant Lack of sound tracks in the game Scripted Boss Fights Persona/Tokyo Mirage like (Yeah, I see what I'm playing and have played before) Game is short (For a 2022, this game is very short on Main Story Content) Boring fetch quests Mixed No stackable Buffs (It's really a preference and it's w/e they do in a game) Hangout events (You really have to enjoy these random conversations) Soul Level system Comps weapon upgrades No press turn system Can't control demons (Human party works, it's just not the same)
@@Paragon231 I guess. Although, at least SH2 seems to be a little more finished than SMT V from what I’m seeing and hearing. Even if there are a few annoyances here and there.
@@BuffMaister What's really infuriating... that Sega managed to release better JRPG ~3 years prior *pointing towards Yakuza 7*. Hangouts and Social Links that actually matters? Check. Good and dramatic plot? Check. Great music? Check. Hilarious moments? Check. Great EX dungeon with Super Boss? Check. Ofc it's somewhat closer to Dragon Quest in couple of parts... but game acknowledges this right from the bat!
The thing that completely killed my interest in this is that you don't even summon demons. Legit just feels like persona under a different name :/ oh well
I can't even recall what NG+ smt5 had other then transfering your progression...everything could be done in 1 playthrough, unless you wanted to do a 100% compendium. SMT series isn't really the game that had NG+ stuff, but SMT 5 sure lacked some extra dungeon/tower they could add. While Nocturne had the Labyrinth of Amala where you can unlock an extra press turn. SMT 4/Apoc had some extra NG+ quests, Fiends and twisted tokyo as an endgame dungeon. Persona 1 had the end game dungeon that further unlocked the more you progress in the game. persona 2 had the Factory and the Ex dungeon that was interesting. Persona 3/4/5 killed it with NG+ and became ''Replay the WHOLE game just to fight a Scripted super boss at the end of the game) I give Persona 3 the praise it does deserve, as the game actually had The Answer story mode and P3P did have the new added dungeons as endgame content.
The fact they all talk together when you use the menu and then attack is infuriating. Terribly poor design, and surprising that it would appear in the "finished" game like that.
its an enjoyable game, had fun with it but its not as big a budget like smt or persona. all in all a very enjoyable experience especially if u r newer to smt games
