Lisa, every video you have shared is a joy to all of us. Your knowledge of spinning and fiber has been such an inspiration to me. I am also a woman that enjoys many different crafts, and I go in waves. Right now I'm sewing as I watch you share your purchase of another lovely fleece... Kate is genuine just like you Lisa. 😊 So share as much as you like. This is your journey and you are taking us along ... How fun 😊

I agree with everybody who says how much we enjoy your channel and the varied interests you bring to the show. You do you. Go where your heart leads you and we will follow along, whether it’s sniffing fleeces vicariously or sewing a quilt or simply chatting. I love how genuine you are. Isn’t it great when we finally reach a stage in our lives where we don’t feel the need to be anything other than what we are? That what I love about Kate’s channel too. She just putters along doing what interests her and I find it all so relaxing and gentle. Just like your channel. Thanks again for the effort you go to for us.

Yeah, I sat here giggling while the fleece was expanding. Everyone who has ever unpacked a fleece was giggling too, I know you all were. And then the look on your face that had that kind of fleece-inebriated look and half laugh as you dove face first into the wool.... well, just saying I know the feeling! To a great extent you already have a podcast that is similar to Kate's and some others' that are so calming and peaceful. And just adding in a few other kinds of creativity just adds more loveliness to what you already do. You are a blessing in more ways than you realize.

I would love your videos any way you wish to do them! I watch Kate, too! I have a YT channel, as well, but it is focused on Papercrafting at the moment….I thought that would be a good place to start my YT, since I wouldn’t have to show my face, just my projects and hands!😂 But, I am a long time fiber artist and sewist. Maybe a new channel for that? Haven’t decided yet…! Your channel will shine if you follow what you really want to do, so go for it! I’ve one more year to retire from teaching, so I truly am living vicariously through your channel, right now! I dream of having every day to focus on my fiber arts and working on our antique home and gardens…..hmmm, might be a good way to start that new channel…..! Can’t wait for your beautiful videos, they are serene, funny, inspiring and your music selections are perfect for this gentle craft we all love so much. Thank you, Lisa for taking us along on your journey! Hugs from New England!

you do you Lisa, we love watching a woman of a certain age with a fibre addiction. I have just discovered a lot of you tube videos of peg looms, they look like a great way to eat up a lot of fibre in various forms, be it cushion covers or rugs.. Found a lovely channel called Highland Colours and she made a huge cushion cover from unspun fleece, she also does natural dying. Btw, all those dandelions would give you a lovely pale yellow dye
@SoulfulSpinning

Hello! I’ve seen that video and the peg loom is intriguing. I have a somewhat cotted Shetland fleece I thought spinning it into a super chunky textured yarn and thought it would make a nice rug.

Hi Lisa! Thank you so much for the content you create and the pieces of your crafting life you share. I love the clips of you crafting with music, it's become one of my most relaxing weekend activities to sit early morning with my tea while the house is still quiet and spin or knit while watching your videos. I learned so much during your breed study, you inspired me to work with more breeds. Recently, I purchased a Shave 'em to Save 'em passport and set a goal of working with every breed in it. The April Sky's batt you made is gorgeous, I look forward to seeing how dying goes for you, but I also love seeing all the natural colors.

I laughed out loud after you unpacked your expanding fleece.... you had just said you didnt need another fleece, then saw you holding it with a funny smile saying "but i did it anyway!". Yes, i have been watching Kate for a couple of years, after Arle and Carlos recommended her channel. She is kind of slowing down a bit, but I still enjoy what she posts. Her cooking episodes are great! Took a class on making fractals on a carder with Clemes and Clemes at PLYaway... one of the other students was Deb Robson from Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook! I finally had an opportunity to sit down and visit with you! I’ve missed you but certainly understand that you needed a rest after your winter breed study. That Corriedale fleece is so bright and beautiful!! I am working on a shawl (I joined the woolly thistle knit-along. Who am I!?) and I am knitting with my spindle spun Corriedale from the first year that I started spinning. It’s an amazing and gratifying process to use your own yarn in a project. I can hardly wait to see your finished sweater. Gorgeous. I really enjoy any and all content that you offer, Lisa. A conversational take-along vlog here and there would be lovely. Hole in the head 😮I must have many, yesterday I came home with 2 Shetland fleeces and some britch wool for socks … waiting for 2 more bags of rooed lamb. (It was Local Yarn Day, I come with fleeces … I think it’s crucial to remind people to shake maximum dirt VM from fleeces before washing. I created my own hell processing fleece with VM, I washed suint method. Not all fleeces come as clean as your cordiale 😊 Also I encourage you to try suint wash … no detergent, but a lot of patience is needed. Lovely wool handling - wool washes itself.

I love the fleece opening. Pure joy. I used to quilt but the love of spinning took over. Much of my leftover fabric is headed to the weaving frame for rag rugs. Speaking of fleece joy...if you want to zip over to Eastern NY next month, I will be helping with the skirting of the shearing of 80 Romneys, you could sniff until.... well you know. LOL. I'm so excited, I will be bringing home all of the ram wool for my peg loom weaving. Hopeful Clean Fleece NY will be scouring them for me as it could be 100#. Ok who is a crazy fleece lady? What a lovely video to wake up to today! That fleece was so lovely I was almost sniffing it myself! I’ve still got a Herdwick and half a Shetland fleece waiting to be scoured so I’m limiting myself to buying only one raw fleece this year (we’ll see how that goes! ) Mittens are on my summer project list this year too. I’m going to do the gorgeous Patronus mittens from Tanis Gray’s Harry Potters Knitting Magic book which use commercial Shetland yarn and are lined with gorgeous merino/ silk craft yarn. They are in stranded colour work so I also need to learn that technique. Without wanting to influence you down another crafting dark path, have you tried nalebinding? I’ve recently got hooked on this ancient craft and made a few accessories. It’s really portable and quite addictive!

I was watching Arne and Carlos make a wooden star at Christmas time to hang on their house and they suggested their viewers to check out Kate. I've been a subscriber for at least two years. Just keep doing what you are doing, Lisa. You are more like Kate than you realize. I'm looking forward to your quilting and sewing adventures. I'm a spinner, knitter, weaver who also felts, quilts, and dyes. I ordered the Big Stitch book you recommended a couple of weeks ago and I'm looking forward to applying those techniques to my next quilt project. Thanks for your time you so generously share with us. Loved the walk with Peaches and your husband today. I live in NE Iowa and we are way behind you with the spring flowers. Love the Bleeding Hearts and Lilac!

I'm from the Midwest (northwestern indianan) and I love that you are representing our general area as an everywoman from the suburbs. My whole extended family is from the Chicago area and everything about your videos is so homey and familiar to me. My mother and grandmother taught me to craft with fibers, yarn and fabric, and now I get to learn even more from you and all the lovely people of fiber arts community. Its hard to find people from my area to learn from, and enjoy crafting together. Thanks for sharing, truly. I am looking into Kate's channel next ❤

For that sweeter, I hope you use the light color at the end of the sleeves and bottom line. I am at work. I ask other workers on lunches to help write ✍️ a short story using the names of flowers and plants 🪴 in the garden center. While you look around your garden, maybe you try a short story of tiny fairies 🧚‍♂️ using different things they spin and weaving for clothes. Gather Spiders web 🕸. When you write this story, add it to your scrapbook. They could knit as well. We named the fairies Lotus and Lily that hang out by the pool and streams. That fleece looks so sulf and nice. I still hope you do another 🙏 breed of studies.

I love your videos and will follow along wherever you wish to take us - as often as you can. As long as it's not stressing you out to make them - none of us want that! Woolly Mammoth Fibres is another podcast I really enjoy - Emma shares beautiful treks along the Northern Irish coast, her garden, knitting, and natural dyeing business. And she has a lovely dog, Rufus.

I really enjoy your videos and am always happy and excited to see a new one posted. I’d love to see more of a day in the life type videos from you. On a side note a spin dryer is a game changer big time for fleece washing. I think you’d love it and wonder why you didn’t get one sooner.🥰

I have my eye on one. Do you have a recommendation? It would be good for all my hand washed items!

Yes, the Ninja by The Laundry Alternative is great. I can’t imagine not having one. I tend to spin dry 8oz at a time and it’s dry within 2hrs and quicker on a hot day.

I love what you are working on, those gorgeous soft blues and the new fleece looks so light and fluffy! I laughed at the never ending warp comment, as I'm finishing off a piece of weaving that I started just before I went away for the summer last year! I love Kate's podcast too, I was looking for a tutorial on English paper pieceing and I started following her from then on, as she built the gorgeous quilt she made for her Granddaughter.

So enjoy spending time with you. It is always so calming. I have learned so much. One of my favorite episodes was the one about your family. I need to wash up a fleece also. I still quilt a little also and I am learning how to weave. 😊 🌺 Take care.

I love the word poorly, it's one that is used in England where I am from, but unusual to hear from one lady that lives in Chicago. Hope you are feeling rested now and ready to tackle that Corriedale.

love the content and dont worry about not being able to match someone for the North of England .... to someone living in the North of Scotland your views / culture what fibre / craft things that are available and your normal are not necessarily mine so exciting .... and then there is a shared love in fibre crafts and life in general that links us . I gave the wool a quick combing before carding and much if the sun kissed tips came off. I got a very solid color.
