It is always frustrating to see such odd choices made like camera angles cause games to become less enjoyable.

I need to try this game, it's like Claymore x Berserk in character design

There's no way to increase the damage of your main attack? That's not true. Or at least, not in supplying main *outright* damage. The comment on enemies being "damage sponges" doesn't sit well with me either, as glad as I am that your final score is on the positive end. All weapons have three Proficiency upgrades that make them deal more damage to specific enemy types, but in *behaviour * they are stronger against different enemy types too. Hammer and Gauntlet break Shields and Armor quicker specifically, Punch Daggers interrupt/stagger with quick focused rapid damage attacks and as such are good against spellcasters and flying enemies, the Whip has a grappling hook move to quickly get to enemies and bosses, and there's a Bestiary in the menu where you can read up about the enemies and their types. What i could agree on is that there are some annoying enemy *types* (Abominations, Furies, Stingers) and the flying enemies get much more managable with the grappling hook move. But even still the majority of enemies (over 20 total) range from alright to positively challenging! Button mashing can work, but Soulstice rewards style: using different moves, avoiding damage, and using Lute's special counterattacks in time. Every (non-sword) weapon may have similar inputs: - Combo string - Pause combo string - Double-tap joystick forward + attack - Evade + attack - Jump + Secondary Weapon - Jump + Secondary Weapon (from air) - and sometimes a charge move and all of them have differences in behaviour. The Buckler/Gauntlet's charge move for example gives extra stun, damage and reach in the attack which means you can charge it up from a further/safer distance, while the punch daggers will continuously do rapid, stunning punches as long as the button is held. The hammer's Attack + Jump from the Air is a downward slam that crushes an enemy into the ground, while the Buckler/Gauntlet also is a downward slam but instead launches enemy in a little area around you. The whip's keeps you in the air and is a multiple-hit big vertical spin like a buzzsaw that can keep enemies in the air while hitting folks below you, the cannon tonfas are a big fire below you, the bow... i believe is a Launcher move from a distance that also keeps you in the air, etc. And a gameplay reason why you'd want to build up this style, is because there's a kind of "style meter" where at its higher tresholds you can perform weapon-unique Finisher attacks or enter a special super rage state that *always* feels awesome to pull off. For the entire genre of character action or hack-and-slash, Soulstice does something quite unique with it too, by having four different "routes" to switch the super rage state between depending on the skills you pick or switch out. (there's full currency refunds from skills). And also in the respect that there's two *other* special states. There is a training room in the game where one can pick the enemy you're facing off against too to figure them out, and where you can experiment with the weapons. I'm being very critical of the review, but i will say that i'm glad you did enjoy the story and production value, and though i don't mind the camera too much, I know you're not alone in being annoyed by it. Soulstice can feel like a six at times, or even a five, but more times it feels like an eight and even a nine. And for me that balances out to about a seven at minimum.

With the limit of one minute I couldn’t tackle all of these points you made, but overall I stand by the 6. I appreciate the deep dive, and I’m glad you really enjoyed the game. Thanks for the breakdown.😎
