I think we can say that the highs and mids sound a bit muffled compared to the Boombox. But hard to say from a YT video.

I don't believe you. I've heard that the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus has better bass and richer sound. The Boombox is quieter, so you might think JBL is better, but it's inside a room. The JBL is designed for rooms, while the Anker is made more for outdoor environments.

How do these compare to the Harmon Kardon 6?

JBL sounds better to me. I do not hear any high-level sounds on the Soundcore's speaker, unfortunately. Maybe, it is due to the specific sound profile. However, thank you for the honest review since other reviewers made their own reviews more complementary to Soundcore than they should have.

I love Soundcore (Anker) stuff, but I'm not brand loyal. So the JBL sparked my interest. But, as you said, the difference in price makes this an easy choice for me. Running 2 Boom2 in a stereo configeration is such an enhanced sound. Not the quality, but now you have a stage and you are able to be loud enough, even for medium sized locations for like 30-40 people. BTW: If price is the main criteria, I would run 2 linked Boom1 plus for a bit more than you pay for 1 Boom2 plus. If even that is to expansive, two Boom 1 (non plus) cost around 100-110€.

Thanks for the comparison. My first Bluetooth speaker was of course JBL. A Charge 3. Exactly after 2 years and 2 weeks it broke. It stopped charging and the sound creaked. Then I bought an Anker (Soundcore). Paid a quarter of the price. The sound is comparable and after 4 years the thing still works like on the first day. AND it has been dropped dozens of times! JBL failed because they sell products that are supposed to break after the warranty period.

I already own the JBL Boombox 3 and the Motion Boom Plus I don't plan on getting the Boom2 because I've been spoiled by the JBL so now I'm thinking about getting the JBL Xtreme4 for portability if it comes to the US because the JBL Boombox 3 is a bit hefty! 😅

Boom 2 sounds noticeably fuller. The boombox 3 is a little harsh and lacks some midrange.

I got a refurbished Boombox 3 for $260. At that price it’s a no brainer and probably best value for your money. If you peruse eBay lots of people are selling used ones sub $300 right now since it’s on sale for $350 brand new (which I feel like its on sale at that price every other month).

The JBL Xtreme 3 would be a better comparison to the boom plus 2 as it is a speaker the boombox 3 is a stereo system not a speaker because it has a subwoofer so it's not really a fair comparison.

Soundcore sieht optisch gut aus aber vom Sound kommt keine an JBL ran bass nicht mal wenn sie wollte höhen sind bei soundcore immer müll.. Hab die Soundcore boom 2 plus wieder zurück geschickt.. Sie war eine enttäuschung und wenn ich den EQ brauche um den Sound zu verbessern dann hat Soundcore halt versagt.. Leute stellen ihren EQ so ein das sie sich anhört wie eine JBL kaufen sich aber keine JBL weil sie das Geld nicht haben oder wie XD

It cracks me up that people have sound tests on a speaker review. Why? Like its is going to tell me in any way how the speaker will sound. It is pointless. I know a lot of people do it but if you think about it for a moment it makes no sense. There are so many things in the sound chain changing the sound that what I am hearing in your video has zero resemblance to the speaker sound.

JBL have more crispy sound

Soundcore is known for it's punchy bass while JBL has deep bass and clearer treble. Total Harmonic Distortion is much lower with the JBL at higher volume than the Soundcore. It's been my experience that speakers with the lowest THD are a bit more expensive and I believe that's what you're paying for when you buy the JBL

For starters it's got more speakers than the JBL that's why they call the JBL 3 cuz it only has three speakers😢

Soundcore is a great choice if you're on a budget. However, Boombox 3 is on a different level for fuller, richer sound and bass. Also if 6 additional pounds with a handle is too heavy for a guy, then maybe their girl can do what they can't. Rolling eyes

Mids on Soundcore sound better to me but the Highs on JBL are richer. Soundcore can float on water though and cool light show at night. We'll be watching 4th of July fireworks in my 92 degree pool with my Soundcore blasting tomorrow night from Palm Springs. Hope I don't get electrocuted.

It resembles the sound of the Tribit, even in the bass, but with more power. Tribit has a very good sound, but it loses in final power to the Bombox 3. This box turned out to be incredible.

I feel robbed whenever a speaker has 2 different performances depending on power connection. Boom2 plus for the win only based on that.
