@@vonclohk507 You weren’t “stupid” thinking they were ripping off another band. I’ve always felt all 3 albums were a bit too reminiscent of something else done by someone else that came before it without the credit for having done it.
@@vonclohk507 I’ve always felt Bleach was their Melvins/Mudhoney album, Nevermind was their Husker Du album, and In Utero was their Pixies album. I was never impressed with them on Sub Pop (with the exception of “Sliver”, which I liked straight away only because of Danny Peters), and thought the rest of the world was out of its fucking mind for fawning over them once they moved to DGC. Still do.
I was there with my band trying to pass out our demos to record execs. This was my first introduction to Soundgarden and I was blown away wish I could I had time to talk to Chris because back then you could just walk up to them after they played and just talk to them. I talked to Mike Patton because Faith No More played there that weekend too. A&M was giving out copies of their tape louder than love, and I played it endlessly and then when bad motor finger came out I was hooked
I don't remember this many ppl. I'd given Axl a tape and said they'd be playing but didn't think he'd show. I remember being up front with Axl moshing all over bumping into very few ppl that were there but in suits. I thought maybe they played a club and the convention??? I don't think I would have missed it if there were 2 as it was Soundgarden the 1st band I saw leaving LA in 87 and moving up to Seattle and worth staying there.
Tommy, I think Soundgarden was the 1st band out of the alternative era to be signed by a major record label , Then Alice in Chains were next. I hate that word GRUNGE! I grew up out there , went to HS in Wenatchee, class of 84' then Moved to ABerdeen Wash when I was 18, then Seattle area when I was 26. I saw a lot of these bands b4 they were famous. IMHO SOUNDGARDEN should've been bigger then they were , I'm talking METALLICA big!
@@nomandad2000 we had a great time and did a lot of traveling in the van as most struggling bands do. Got to meet and make friends with great musicians. We went as far as we could and am grateful we went further than most get to go. It was certainly fun and many wonderful memories of great gigs and opening for many nationals and and friends with alot of them. Great times for sure and a great time for music.
This video blew my head hahaha it's just amazing how it sounds.... It seems like i was there. Chris was incredible playing and singing at the same time. What a great performance!
Jason on Bass ... ahhh it cut off before Hands all over was over. By the by I didn't realize Chris played that riff on that song. I always thought it was KIm. I love that song and Loud Love. Great album.
I think this is the only time I’ve ever seen Chris playing a strat, it’s so cool to see he’s one of my hero’s. Not to mention the cool shirt what a icon. R.I.P❤
I was there. So happy this was my first exposure to this band and that this video surfaced. This place was mostly empty as I remember, with exception of the front of the stage. Remember, the hair metal scene was in full force as GNR Appetite was at the pinnacle of the end of that era. I knew this band was special and they were the only band at the foundations forum that made a major impact to the music scene in my recollection.
Unbelievable! Blown away by the quality of these videos. By far the best I've seen. They look and sound just like they did back in 1989. Thank you so much.
#ChrisCornell in a #Nirvana T-shirt 🆒 Cool AF! & Thanks for posting this Absolue Rare Fantastic footage 💛 #Soundgarden. ✴🎸🔥 Upsetting to watch, But how can you 'Not!?! Miss You Chris" ,...❤ #NoOneSingsLikeYouAnymore 🎵♥
Oi Renata, teu relato é muito parecido com o do Tom Morello quando conheceu o Chris ao vivo kkkkkk, Soundgarden, pra mim, mudou o rock, mas isso é outra discussão, abraço RIP Chris Cornell...
It's so unfair that he is regarded as the guy fired from soundgarden and nirvana...instead of being in those bands-so special....and then going on to become some badass soldier....
For those who were not around for the 90s, especially from 88-94, we have no idea what they missed. In every city in almost all the clubs, there was Rock n Roll/ punk music bands playing. Glam metal was in the way out, and musicians were not wearing spandex and eye liner!! Plug in and play loud original music!!! What a time to be alive. Best decade for ALL music. I know the 60s and 70s had good arena rock but the 90s was much deeper than rock and roll. Alt, country, hip hop,.
Jason was Nirvana member before Soundgarden. Then, Ben was also Nirvana member, he toured with them and helped, rehearsed... They all know each other. That's not the only tshirt of another band he used... Btw. 😂
Soundgarden got these shirts for free at SubPop studio. Chris wore the shirt to tease Jason Lol. All the bands supported each other in a way..just how they were. Chris has said many times in interviews that he really didnt know Kurt that well & that they never hung out. Chris was a home body anyways. His closest bro's was Soundgarden and his dogs!
@@ccsg1313 dogs is what we referred to our friends as back then when we greeted our friends we said what's up dog that's where the dogs reference comes from Ashley
