+TheSpitfire109 Its because the Afrikaans part is actually from South Africa while the other languages are derived from an African song for God to bless Africa. The Afrikaans parts were written in a very dark time in History - its got some conviction!!
+Adam Clark Over 90% of Afrikaans derives directly from Dutch. But because Afrikaans has developed more quickly then Dutch, dutch people can understand Afrikaans but it's much harder for an Afrikaner to understand Dutch.
I love how they sang this almost comparing the voices of the 2 singers and highlighting how Heinz is being out classed and should please go take his seat while Charlize just quickly owns this anthem. Nice voice Charlize but please stop singing with the peasants.

Founded by settlers evading persecution in Europe and wanting a place to practice their religion freely.
