The little boy who was struggling to walk had been unable to walk at all when his father left for his deployment, He worked as hard as he could so he could show his dad how well he could walk on dad's homecoming.

When I see ordinary citizens protest war and genocide, it fills me with joy. Protesters risk being labeled anti-semites, losing their jobs and being kicked out of school. They also risk physical abuse by cops. Yet they pile into the streets to defend people half a world away. They're worthy of our deepest respect. Workers, youth and students especially must oppose patriotic/nationalist sentiments and unite the world in peace.
