Gee is considered to be like the first viral video/song in the infancy of RU-vid. It truly broke barriers. In fact, it's probably most people's first Kpop song because of said viralness. I can't imagine hearing about Kpop especially in the West since it wasn't as accessible when RU-vid/streaming was just starting compared to now. SNSD, legends! You'll look at the numbers and think that they were just average but their impact is not measured through that.

No other kpop girlgroup has reach 16 years and still ad relevant in the industry a Girls' Generation, they are the textbook for all the girlgroups that we see today. I highly recommend you guys to watch 'The Boys' it came out in 2011 but still hits hard and 'you think' that came out in 2015 one of greatest and has the most insane vocals ever.

Snsd or Girls Generation is iconic in kpop history. They were so famous that other groups tried not to overlap their comebacks with theirs because once SNSD’s song was out everyone was listening to that and nothing else. All of the members are popular, successful and legendary and literally everyone knows them. You may have heard of Taeyeon(the leader). She is now a soloist and considered as the Queen of kpop.

These girls are the innovators of girl group KPOP. They had all the records until the newer gens. All their songs are good and fun. My daughter and son loved them growing up. Good stuff.

Girls Generation paved the way for girl groups. They started a generation for ggs' that was dominated by boy groups back then, w/o SNSD you wouldnt be seeing these girl groups these days who grew up and dream of becoming idols bcoz of them. They got the vocals, dance, charisma and all concepts covered. You might be seeing groups that are good dancers, good singers, swag and all separately but Girls Generation have it all in one group. ❤

Girls' Generation is the English name of the group, the Korean name is 소녀시대 (So Nyeo Shi Dae) hence SNSD or Soshi (for short), it is the first girl group nation, we could say that the first love of Koreans , but it is not the first girl group. The boy who appears in the video is Minho from SHINee, another iconic Kpop group.
