The problem with denominations is that they all seem to disagree. That is a result of less and less people reading what they Bible really says and just nodding and agreeing with whatever your pastor says. People should always double check their Bible to make sure what the pastor is saying is correct. The news we really should focus on is how wee are all saved. Because the bible says once you are saved you are eternally forgiven. So once you believe and are eternally forgiven at least if you mess up you are secured. However to be saved to begin with you have to believe the Gospel. The Gospel for our time is grace and that we have a saviour who bled out for all of our sins who believe. Forgives all trespasses (sins). Not past sins, not future sins, not present sins, but all sins. That he came in the flesh as well. And rose on the third day. That it is not of works (what we do or actions we have) but a result of faith alone in Christ and believe on what he did. We are all sinnners. The flesh is evil. Even saved Christians can fall back to sin if they are not careful. But that doesn't mean you are not forgiven anymore. A lot of people don't actually recognize that Jesus had to bleed out for our sins. He didn't just die for our sins. He shed his blood for the world. For all who believe on him for this salvation. I would be willing to bet most people can't actually tell you how they are saved these days. You need to believe first to be saved, not be saved to believe. Me, personally I do not belong to any denomination. I believe the Bible. If the Bible says females should not be pastors I do not argue with God. The reason God does not think a woman should be a pastor actually stems from Eve being the one who was beguiled by the serpent. Adam wasn't beguiled. He was in love with Eve and ate the fruit, which is what caused the downfall and curse on all flesh and all living things. So instead of bickering and fighting over context we should all know we are all flawed and all of us need to be corrected sometimes. To be corrected means you are humble. We also must love one another and correct with kindness in our hearts. All this arguing is useless. It truly is simple to believe.

Just because women aren’t called to leadership roles doesn’t mean that they are valued any less, they just play a different part. They were part of many Baptists who swung away from the prejudices of Southern Baptists to joyfully be part of northern Baptists: Female ministers very welcome and very capable. In my hometown in Mass and in a southern NH town I lived in for many years, the Baptist church and in the smaller NH town were lead wonderfully by women pastors. In the small NH town (Chester) the Baptist church combined happily, welcome-ingly with Congregationalists as well. A close long time "Woman about town" who loves helping people, she's also a long time strong woman-of-service in the town center church. And no 'holier than thow' exclusionary-ness. Baptists, northern, are welcoming.

Pastors wives are indispensable and do so much work making good churches great. However working tirelessly for the church does not make you a pastor nor an elder. These are leadership positions. They need to tirelessly work to. Lead by serving. But they are the decision makers and that's how God set his church up. Women are integral as are the non leadership men in the congregation. Bit neither are the actual pastors the actual leaders.

As a young kid, about 7, I heard the men discussing whether it was appropriate for a young female teacher to stand behind the pulpit as she told a bible story to a large group of vacation bible school kids. Her name was Ms. Hale, and all the kids loved her. That incident is the first I remember that caused me to question things pertaining to organized religion, of which I now want no part.

Salvation is eternal, and all sins are forgiven so even if a woman does this being a believer that will not make her lose salvation. But The Word does say those things. So arguing against God is not a good idea in my opinion. 1 Timothy 2:11-14 KJV 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Nuns are all under the authority of a male bishop. Being a nun is not leading men. Their abbesses lead the nuns, but every Catholic convent is under a bishops authority.

I believe religion and bible was a man made up thing. It was a way to control its group of people. Made up stories in New Testament by men. It was rules and religion that made the male seem to be the one incharge.

Church attendance is growing or stable in most evangelical churches. It has been rapidly declining in all of the liberal mainline churches--all of which allow women pastors, gay marriage, and (most) allow non celibate gay pastors as well. The Southern Baptists are however losing members too like you said and they are not liberal. I think their decline has more to do with a recent and long running scandal in the SBC that is still being remedied and reckoned with.

The letter of Paul is to be understood in the context of it's time and it was written specifically to the situation that was facing the church of that time.

Which is out of context because it says let a woman learn quietly because the vast majority of women back then had no education at all and couldn't even read which is why it says let them learn quietly to prevent them from disrupting service to ask questions. It says he does not permit them to teach or speak or have authority over men because they were not educated enough to teach in general. But when you read about Priscilla and her husband Aquilla , Priscilla was educated, and she and her husband taught Apollos and Paul didn't have a problem with that otherwise just the husband's name would have been mentioned as teaching Apollos

Christian are not under the law. It is a guideline. Most Christians worship on the Lords day of resurrection ( first day of the week. If they want to keep the Sabbath they can. If you can do away with a commandment that was given to Moses, then surely one can do away with a doctrine that came much later. (Target) Members bring resources with them and when members leave, they take their resources with them. I don't think a majority of christians/pastors speak out against women preachers because in the 21st century, it's not something majority of people will agree with. Same with divorce. If pastors start criticizing people's second third, fourth marriages, those people might leave. Divorce in the 21st century is overwhelming and when the consensus is overwhelming, then most churches I believe will try to go with the consensus. Watch, 25 to 50 years from now, churches will accept same gender loving marriages especially if an overwhelming amount of Americans start to accept it. The trend is real.
