You’re accurate Daniel, my man! Been a personal friend of Marker Ray for 30 years. Owned 2 of his Ol’ Southern Bull dogs. Even owned one of Ms. Lana Lui Lane’s Blue Bloods back in ‘98. Hogs couldn’t do a damn thing against them in the Dublin swamps in south GA. Ol’ Southerns and Blue Bloods are the best work dogs I’ve ever owned. Hands down!
@mwheele78 - Lana did get Bulldogs from John D Johnson according to him but it wasn’t certain they she used them in her breedings so I left it out. She also admitted to buying them in an interview I read given by Ray Coleman but she said at that time they weren’t called American Bulldogs. You gotta remember he called his dogs White English got a long time.
@@raymondmurrell3755 - maybe not but Ray Coleman reported that she said it and John D Johnson said he sold her dogs. So two people with the same story 🤷🏻♂️. I’m just reporting what is out there don’t shoot the messenger.
GrEAT VIDEO 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I appreciate the time that you put into this Video.❤ I know a LOT of information is controversial. I think you did outstanding walking that line. #walk the line
That’s actually a good question, they share a lot of the same history and started off very similar but if I had to pick a couple of things to set them apart it would be 1.) the Merle color, I have yet to see an American Bulldog with Merle coat pattern, and if it’s out there it’s a cross because the registries don’t allow it that I’m aware of. 2.) the Alapaha may be built very similar to the American Bulldog especially the hybrids and Johnson type but I just haven’t seen any that are built like some of the Scott type and standard dogs out there, some are similar but not a lot. 3.) I would have to say it’s just the breeders, eventually even the similar beginnings dissipated because the two groups of breeders were not breeding together. I can’t speak on temperate though because I’ve never owned an Alapaha buts that how I would differentiate the two as of now. Very very similar breed types though.
@@prideofthesouthlandkennelsI love your channel and I have a 9 month old Alapaha female. The only difference I see is in temperament is that the Alapaha tends to be overly suspicious of strangers. My pup was growling at people at two months old, eventually I socialized her and she’s ok now. She still is very aloof though.
