Thank you so much for your hard work and honest creative approach. There are some misunderstandings here, Please allow me to explain something to you. 1. As you have shown in the video, about the leveling nuts, we provide a set of extra spare leveling kits with the machine, users who don't like leveling nuts can replace them, which will make the hotbed become like SV06 without the fixing method of leveling nuts. 2. The installation instructions for the accelerometer have already been added to the manual. ( The input shaping of SV07 is the standard setting that has been adjusted based on the engineers' multiple tests, no need to re-adjust the input shaping after assembly. It is best to be familiar with the machine before modifying the input shaping for novices. ) 3. The latest configuration files will be updated on the accompanying SD card and official website. We will make a tutorial video on how to flash the config in the future. 4. Currently, the big fan can be turned off by manually operating the screen. 5. Slicing software will be continuously optimized. 6. About the pulley structure, thanks for the suggestion. Feedback has been given to engineers. the same with the PEI plate, let's look forward to subsequent optimization. Anyway, we appreciate your suggestions for improvement, and these bits of advice fuel us to keep pushing this product forward. 😊

@@AndrewAHayes Andrew I do not disagree with you very ofter, and I always appreciate our conversations. However, my issue isn't a one off. I just finished watching the other videos, and nobody proved to me that they ran the SV07's through the paces like I did. There are two other RU-vid reviews so far. One just showed the printer, taking it apart, and comparing it next to the BIQU Hurakan, barely showing the prints. Next review, showed an under extruded benchy, then next to another sliced benchy that was under extruded, again not nearly the close up shots like I provided. Then was followed by a bunny, and a tool and some doll shoes. I found my test prints unacceptable, even at 100mm/s. Thus I started chasing. Since the release of this video, Sovol reached out to me, provided me with another print.cfg and updated Cura Slicer that I am currently testing. I can tell neither of them received them received this new print.cfg because they also said the main blower remains always on. Which the new config turns it on after the 1st layer, and off when the job is complete. I followed the instructions, and it didn't show any mounting locations for the accelerometer, so I am not going to guess where it get mounted to. As always Andrew I appreciate your input, and always keeping me honest!

If people watch other videos they might just learn this machine looks like it is a one off as no one else has had these issues, quite the opposite in fact, and the accelerometer screws on to the back of the toolplate for the X calibration but I have no idea where the Y connects although there is one hole on the buildplate tab but I dont know if you could get it tight enough to do the vibrations , they really should have included this in the instruction booklet.
@TripodsGarage
@TripodsGarage Год назад
@@AndrewAHayes Andrew I always appreciate your comments, and they always challenge me. Which I appreciate. However, this isn't a one off. The other reviews didn't show off prints as close as I did, and didn't do nearly the testing. How many videos are out? 3 or 4 including mine? Why didn't anyone show prints as closed as I did? I could have easily just taken the machine apart and compared it to the BIQU, shown two prints at one angle and called it a day. Yet, I am given doubt when it comes to a negative review? Yeah, if there were instructions for how to attach the accelerometer, I would have used those instructions. I could have easily copied the BIQU Hurakan attachment method, but how do I know that is correct? Yep, instructions were not complete.
@GusHill88

Hope this helps, I think most of the issues that your having are todo with how the Input shaping was calibrated. The accelerometer that you attached needs to be rigidly fixed to the bed a clip wont do it. Its likely a ADXL354. It needs to be screwed to the bed and the print head and done on the surface that the printer is sitting on. Do that and some flow calibration and and I think you’ll have very different results. I have a buch of ender 3’s running Klipper and these things make a world of difference.
@leroy7647

That makes a lot of sense. If it's not secure in the worst case it could be capturing the resonant frequency of the clip instead :'D . Thanks for the tip, even though I dont have a klipper + accelerometer machine, still very insightful!

Not the experience that I have with my SV07 that's only 4 days out of the box. Oh, and it's my 15th printer overall but my first Klipper unit. I immediately swapped out the springs and wheels for the standoffs. I've had great success with PLA and PETG and my first 25 minute Benchy was just outstanding. I use the standard version of Cura with the Moonraker plugin so that I can send my jobs right to the printer. My negative experiences were minor. I used glue stick right from the start since I didn't like the feel of the PEI sheet. I needed to tweak the eccentric nuts on the X axis. Even without running input shaping I've expereinced very little ghosting or Z-banding. Calibration cube was the best of all my bedslingers. I also tested out the filament out process and it works quite well, too. I'm sorry your experience was bad. I'm a Sovol fan and have SV01Pro, SV02, SV03, SV05, and now SV07.

Agreed! They were riding on the coattails of the SV06, which they should have just changed the name to something totally different. Maybe name it the SK1 (Sovol Klipper 1) then people wouldn’t be comparing it with an established line. They really missed the mark, and I put dozens of hours trying to make it work.

Yeah, I watched his and a few others that came out after my review. All I can say is that I review what I received. I haven’t had a “do not recommend” on a 3D printer for 2 years. I used the skinned Cura slicer provided, sliced a benchy. Printed way to many, all bad. Then loaded regular Cura and made my own profile that helped a little, but still bad. Why did Maker’s Muse not even test their slicer or The Next Layer? I don’t have an answer, I worked on the printer for 2 weeks, and did way more testing than any other video. Maybe I got a bad machine? Seems that me a 3D Printing Professor are the only ones that saw some of the same issues. Hey! Someone did actually purchase one from my affiliate link below 😉👍. Thanks for the review. 🙂 To isolate the problem, you could have printed at very low speed. That would tell if there’s a problem with that machine, or if it has to do with speed - input shaping maybe not working correctly. It may have saved a lot of innocent benchies. 😉 Does the printer stands on a sturdy desk?

Pretty sure it is the same extruder as the sv06+. If the silicone sock comes off you have to remove everything out of the way just to get it back on. It is four screws for fan duct on sv06, move fan and duct out of the way then push sock all the way on. Also my sv06+ without clipper does the standard speed benchy in 44 minutes with clean lines.
@TripodsGarage
@TripodsGarage Год назад
After I saw the issue, and just pushing back on didn’t work. I decided just to print without it, just to get going again. I didn’t have high expectations for the 30min benchy. The 40min benchy was a more of the disappointment.

It's a shame. I just received my SV06 Plus last week. That printer is fantastic right out of the box. Klipper would be icing on the cake. I still have a Tevo and I'm never going back to V-rollers. I'm sure with a little tuning though the SV07 will be great for the price. One plus side with the V-rollers is you don't have to take it completely apart to lube the bearings since they ship the SV06 line with dry bearings. They sure do feel and sound dry.

@@TripodsGarage My SV06 could not do a 1st layer, we all need to adopt this as a "is this printer any good" because if it cannot do a first layer print, you will never have any real luck at the printer. Yep, done tinkering as I need a reliable machine to make parts with and.. do what we should be able to do with 3d printers. Far too long Creality and companies have made us refine their product for them, then they come up with the refined printers as a new version, no kudos to those who figured it out. not cool IMO, and so I ordered the MK4. I hope it is good, and I am modding some Ender 3's that are new, putting the belted Z mod on them, linear rails, non-creality firmware and touchscreens Big Tree Tech/motherboard combos. In the end I just want machines that work, and that I can churn out prints with. THEN I can get a machine that requires tinker time. My CR10 S5 took 2 weeks before I got my first print. Was so frustrated with it. Anywho.. yes please on the first layer!

You did not do anything wrong. Listening to your story gave me flashback of my SV06+ experience. My conclusion is that these many Chinese printer cloning companies are not here to make quality printers. They are here to make quick money. I’ll bet that by end of year we’ll have had multiple releases, and may end with SV10. The SV06+ came with a Marlin firmware version which is 2 years old. There has not been any firmware updates to the printer since I last checked. So I installed Klipper on mine. I must admit, just like you, I’ve spent more filament on calibration than actually printing stuff I wanted. With all of these many months of ownership I have yet to do a good quality print. I’ve wasted countless of weekends debugging this “printer” Sovol only cares about their public image, which is also why they made a comment to your video. Their support is non existent if you’re an ordinary person. I would advise people to save their $399. Then save up an extra $200 and buy the p1p. It’s a light years difference in user experience and quality. I bought a tool.. a printer.. I did not buy a couple of stepper motors, rods, an extruder and a bed to just do a diy printer. If that was the case I would have just built a Voron.. Also shameless they call themselves innovative in their SV07 advertisement. Nothing but a cloning company.

If the motor shaft drives the Hobbed gear and the gold-colored gear at the same time, then only one of the dark gray gears is driving the other Hobbed gear that pushes the filament into the extruder. The other two dark gray gears are useless, they just turn without having any useful function!! Please look up the way a planetary gear box is setup.

Maybe next time, print a few items with the generic input shaping before calibrating a specific input shaping profile for your installation. It's possible that the input shaping messed up the printer. There were apparently no instructions describing how and where to mount the accelerometer and plenty of wrong ways to do it. Hopefully Sovol has addressed this in subsequent machines. You got an early machine with incomplete documentation and maybe some wonky hardware. I like out of the box reviews. Bed slingers require some assembly but I'd make some prints immediately after assembly for the "typical user experience" and also to create a baseline, and only then would I adjust V rollers, calibrate input shaping, etc. I have an SV01 that's been a workhorse for my online business for over two years. I'm ready to upgrade for better print quality and hopefully faster print speed. I'm seriously considering the K1 Max, but I think my dream printer might be a 300 mm cube build volume version of the SV06 Plus, with Klipper and an accelerometer for input shaping. I wanted an enclosed printer to get back to printing ABS but I may get a less expensive and easier to maintain open frame bed slinger and convert my ABS prints to PETG. I wish Elegoo made a Neptune 4 Plus Pro larger format Klipper printer.
@TripodsGarage
@TripodsGarage 11 месяцев назад
I should have mentioned that I did the first 5 benches before the input shaping. Per Sovol, recalibrating isn’t necessary, which I don’t get. Yeah, I definitely got an early machine, with a lack of documentation. Given the history of the Neptune 3 series, I would hope that Elegoo carries that into the Neptune 4 line with bigger printers. I really like how the Neptune 4 performed.

The world needs more good $600-700 printers, like the P1P--the last thing we need is another $200-300 Ender clone.

Some products are just rushed to market, from what you have showed, this is definitely one of them. I’m sure sovol can sort with a bit of an update as long as the hardware is capable of being controlled by the firmware. I always watch your reviews as they are straight forward, so many reviewers just want the free stuff and don’t say all the negatives and we get stuck with half finished products. Keep up the good work ❤️

@@AndrewAHayes I did and some other testers will never say anything negative else risk not getting more free stuff…not saying everyone else lies but not giving the full truth also is a lie. I prefer someone giving good, bad and ugly. I bought a Halot mage, the few reviews out there say good things but not everything is rosy and a few kinks need to be sorted out. At this moment I would not recommend someone new to 3d printing to even consider this machine as it’s temperamental, in 6 months after firmware updates it’ll be fine. Not saying it’s bad and always be bad, it’s just not fully polished product. From others outside of reviewers we will see the real story.

@@Happy3dprinting I just finished watching the other two reviews. Sorry, one took the machine apart, compared it against the BIQU Hurakan and barely showed any prints. The other review, did the presliced benchy, then a sliced bency, not showing much of the detail. The shots that were shown, showed under extrusions. Yet he said it was an acceptable benchy. The other was a bunny, a tool, a boat, and doll shoes. Again nothing really close up like my shots. My standard are much higher. I proven that I ran this machine through its paces, and tried to chase down the issues. Are my videos polished, no, but I am honest with what I represent. I mentioned my affiliate at the beginning, do you think anyone is going to buy it? Not from this review. Now, this morning Sovol reached out to me, and wanted to work with me to get this resolved, "not buy me off". They sent me a printer.cfg file and an updated Cura slicer. I am currently testing it.
@Happy3dprinting

@@TripodsGarage hopefully they have at least improve the machine’s performance. I like your videos, they are simple, open and try to be objective when you do your reviews and not just rip a product to shreds for no reason. You tried everything to try and find out what was going on with this printer and it was obvious that there was something going on. I tend to ignore a number of reviewers as of late as you can see that they have become shills for companies and want free stuff. we all are victims of this game they play with our money. When they do actually show an issue it’s minor, it’s like they point out that the screen is slow to respond then forget to say that the power supply burnt out and the print bed is shaped like a banana. Keep up the great work and will look forward to what improvements the new printer.cfg file will bring 👍

Something seems strange, the other reviews seem to have much better results. I would look at My Tech Fun prints again. Not that great. Both of these videos do not show the super close shots of the prints like I do. XrControl used mostly a white to beige filament which a camera doesn’t pickup that well. Plus none of his shots were super close. Yes, the printer’s big part cooler can be turned off by software. I was pretty frustrated at that point in the video 😂. People can believe what they want to believe. I am now testing with an updated printer.cfg and Cura Profile. So far the results are promising.

@@TripodsGarage Honestly not "believing" anything, it just looks strange. None of those other reviews look as bad as yours and I understand how frustrating this must have been. Have you tried printing without input shaper? Kinda looks like resonance compensation went haywire. Anyhow, I jumped the gun yesterday and ordered one for $299 - Let's hope they'll iron out the kinks until they ship the units.

@@mpauls85 - This is why I don't watch other reviews of a product I am working on until afterwards. I can only comment on what I saw in their videos, and it wasn't much detail on the prints. Not all is lost, Sovol reached out to me and gave me an updated printer.cfg and a updated Cura Profile the results are looking promising!

Just want to point out to any new user, the input shaping was done wrong. The sensor is sending signals based on its axial movements. When you do not mount it correctly the computer is adjusting for movements in wrong direction. You would have been better off not running input shaping at all at all. I just got one, and I'll say Sovol listens to what ppl say! All the complaints people have given about this machine (minus the belts) they fixed.
@TripodsGarage
@TripodsGarage 2 месяца назад
If there was proper documentation, and emails were answered, then the input shaping would have been done correctly. I also reran the input shaping the correct way, and it yielded the same results (posted in community section). If Sovol did listen, then there would be another Sovol video in my library after this one. Instead, anyone that criticizes them in a review, they ceased communication with. Enjoy your Sovol, glad it works for you 👍

@@impostercoding- Don’t get me wrong, I am glad your machine works, and you are having a positive experience with it! I just know after watching other videos after mine was released, many didn’t show prints up close, and or used white filament that isn’t camera friendly. I do the Out Of Box Experience, I review what I receive. Unfortunately, this machine was a bad experience for me. Sovol only reached out to me once, I applied their updated printer.cfg file, ran input shaping the correct way, and yielded the same results (as posted in the community section). That was the first communication from Sovol, and the last. They never bothered to reach out to me again. It isn’t my job to pursue them. As a direct result from my experience, and posting this video, I have been removed from their reviewer platform. Other companies I have criticized, don’t exhibit this behavior. It is what it is. As long as they are producing machines that work, and customers are happy, to me that is what really matters. Happy printing bud, and thanks for the comment 👍
