Love how you left your editing note in the video at around the 45:00 mark and didn’t actually make the cut away I assume you were meant to 😂

I actually don’t mind and like seeing them left in when there nothing bad it’s shows their human :)

I personally prefer to use blast door blocks for landing pads, as they are non-deformable. Is great for if you have unexpectedly heavy landings and not annihilating the landing pad.

I have a suggestion. At the intersection between the 3 landing pads, if you could expand that out to a 5x5 and put a control tower on it, that would make a good mount for those 30 degree lights. Also, have you considered blast door block instead of heavy armor to make the landing pads out of. It would take a lot less resources.

This. For the small pads. And i like the idea used of a gap for the large engines to fire down through. I might even drill a small pit in the ground as a "blast effect," lol.

You could add an event controller under the pad that turns Off the flashing landing lights and turns ON the 30 deg spot light when the connector is connected and reverses that when disconnected :)

The repair-bot might have just been struggling to deal with running from a sub-grid connected to such a massive grid... If you add a repair-bot station to the main base and launch him from there it might work better... And if that works it might be a good idea to have a home base repair-bot that might be able to repair/weld any ships that dock to the base after it's done welding the main grid...

Seems likely, worth testing anyway

I believe the classic solar panel lets you double-layer them back to back. You get twice the output for the same amount of area. Downside being that you're stuck with rectangles that you can't paint. So I guess you have to have a love for space efficiency and utilitarian design over nicer flowing shapes with customizable colors.

add a piston + rotor to the ship connectors - at the landing pad. U could rotate the ship any direction desired. The piston could allow to land all type of ships - with i e connectors standing out or in

I'm a sucker for buried conveyors. Love bases that look like several discrete structures. Have you ever tried the weldless texture for landing pads? Has a nice worn-in look on heavy armor blocks. The concrete texture works really well, too.
@moconnell663
@moconnell663 6 месяцев назад
Why do the welders point out the front of the ship instead of out the bottom? It seems like maintaining the ships attitude would be much easier in a high-gravity environment that way.

Hey, instead of the pillars, try to use the "neon tubes" in an unwelded state - with them U can decorate more details too ;) ... BR and THX 4 the series!

The light armor blocks around the small landing pads should be cement skin. And where it would flow best to the large pad. Little more to break up the shape of the paid.

I like how technical you are. Do you know anyone that wants to play this game with someone, I seem to not be able to find anyone who plays this, or they already play with a group and are not looking for new people?

@@ilovevincent_1 well I like teaching people how to play games, because I like knowing that I helped someone enjoy a game instead of getting frustrated and quitting it. Let me know if that interests you.

Can I suggest you use the AQD - No Armor Edge MOD? This greatly improves the visual of constructions by removing these horrible edges to the blocks - especially on smooth surfaces when blocks are not the same color or the same texture. 🙂

You should install a building between the landing pad of before them that could role-play as a custom office or a spaceport office. also considering there is a maximum number of block per grid maybe divided you base in different grid attach by connectors would be a good idea if its get bigger
@Nemethon
@Nemethon 6 месяцев назад
The size of the grid has nothing to do for the bot. I used the ai bot to weld my whole base. Fastest way, put the bot block on the grid you want to weld, and the container with the material next to it. If you want him to weld other grids, and he can't find it, make a route for him through the other grid, so he has to go around to not hit the grid. This forces him to "see" the grid. ;)

looks awesome pads well done for my paths i use the carbon fibre block they look great
@DieyoungDiefast
@DieyoungDiefast 6 месяцев назад
Might have been better to use half blocks for the pads. As to the lighting towers, I made one that had 4 hinges at the top and use the 3 light bar to floodlight the whole area below, much like the light towers you get at railway marshalling yards and large car parks.

why not put the landing pad connectors on pistons to help with said landings along with mag plates to act as "docking clamps"? And any thoughts to putting welders onto the underside of the "Pan cake"? and did you try putting the robots control station ON the grid? not on the ship?

What planet is that? I am two months old and never seen a forested area like this. Is it new, a mod? Inquiring minds (mine) want to know. Would be a great area for hiding a base on a pvp server. Minus that HUGE ass solar panel! 😱🤣😅😁😂 Great video as usual bud. 🫡🫡🫡🫡

Sad part about where he has his base is that he is Limited on ship size if he wants to build anything larger then his Drop ship without effecting the surroundings

To weld up the ...well... Could I use/upgrade the same plunge drill, with a pair of welders on one side, a couple cargo containers for the build materials, and drill down the side of the shaft, welding the pipes and also drilling the added room needed for the craft as I go? And then set up the "hover mode" with a little bit of negative lift. ?? It wont "drill" the original down-pipe as I try to drill the rock to the side of it, will it? Because I want to do this sort of build atop one of the iron mountains, which means the well shaft will be over a kilometer... Automating this as much as possible is the idea. Thoughts, Engineers? Idea #2 is to use a double headed plunge drill and the 8 shaped hole will allow for the second pass as a welder. To recover the drill/welder, i could include a small cargo container at the bottom of the shaft, to toss the welder resources into as I deconstruct it, right? Which would be easy to do, resource wise, if the weld/drill has a couple of them already built into it...
@michealnelsonauthor
@michealnelsonauthor 6 месяцев назад
I'm liking that idea. If you need still more resources while down there, you can build in a junction and add a small cargo container or just a connector to the side. then draw down more resources for the welder to continue the down pipe. Yes, a side connector in the ship build seems pretty obvious. Sweet!

I think the blue paint stripe should be yellow., and the red one should be blue. to match their two ships better.

May I ask a question? You said you have a well dug down to water level. What? As I said, I am two months old in SE. I have never seen water, only ice. So what does the water do? Is it an ice deposit and you made an automatic ice miner? Thank you kindly in advance for answering my questions if you do. 🫡🫡🫡🫡
