Space Marines vs Orks - No Limit Mod - Massive Battle - Warhammer 40K Dawn Of War 3 

It's just REALLY not a dawn of war game. That the issue with series people expect something at least related

I only played a bit of DoW 1, but mainly SC2. I understand that nerds like "their" game to be true to the material, but to see a huge RTS potential die like this, is heartbreaking. "Urr hurr it ain't lore-accurate enough" - Relic did not abandon the game, the smug player base killed it.

@@derpysean1072 I mean if you make a flight simulator with hovercraft and shit or a hello kitty games series that suddenly turn into a slash them all gore and age restricted i'm sure it won't go well. When a serie fell it's either because they changed litterally nothing and that just money grab or they changed way to much and destroyed what made the game good in the first place. That the strength and the issue with series : you have backbone that can guide you toward what is good but at the same time you can't just do whatever !

This game has many issues. The buildings are actually amazing but the gameplay and design theme are rubbish. We expected it to be an expansive rts like DOW 1 but also very tactical like DOW 2. Instead we got a very downgraded version of each.

The unit animations are also awesome especially the big units, the game just lacks the grimdark aesthetic/ they look like plastic toys.

@@TheMCmace you would be surprised, a lot of people have a form of nostalgia to Dow 1.not to mention this game is a horrible downgrade compared to Dow 1 gameplay or Dow 2. It tries to be a MOBA in multiplayer on the default maps and it needs mods just to feel like it's own game. Compared to the previous 2 which both have a strong vanila and modded community, this game barely gets any community at all

THe lack of races killed it for me. Eldar/marines/orkz. I like Chaos > Tau > Sisters of battle > Eldar in that order. No chaos to play campaign for killed it the moment game came out for me.

@@rexthero I agree, One of the arguments that many of the 40k made about this game was that Its level of grimdark was near completely gone. Orks were clean and used factory new products that didn't seem crude, savage, and war torn. Same thing with the space marines, and how their voices were nowhere near the performance of the previous ones, DOW1 Space marine set the foundation, DOW2 Space marine was the prefab, and DOW3 could've been the final touch that perfected it. Even making the power armor they wear seem like its made of plastic that's easier to break than a Storm trooper from star wars, and that's embarrassing. I can't say much about the eldar, I was going to say how they're movement is a bit painful to watch but that does match with how they fight let alone move, but with all 3 factions in place, some mentioned how its hard to tell whats happening on the screen in the middle of a battlefield when its just a toned down Seizure procedure.

WTF are you talking about? Animations are great. Not as great as DOW 2 but that game isn't an RTs so it' doesn't count. Sounds kinda lack Bass in some areas (heavy bolters and Orks Shootas) but over all pretty decent. Finally, I'd agree with you on the Unification mod but like Ultimate Apocalypse it can only do so much before the graphics and gameplay really start to show it's age. Say what you will about DOW 3 but playing the elites feel pretty damn awesome and it's one of it's many great traits in an arguably very good game.

It also doesn't help that he is using mods to make it feal less like a MOBA...

because the game needs mods to even be a viable game to play, they took the entire shtick of 40k and got rid of it (grim dark) The animations make the marines, eldar and orks look like toys claymationed (smoothly i might add though) and there is no real impact to anything happening on the screen except for the explosions, they literally took a DOTA 2 creep controller character and made an entire 40k game around it, without maintaining the real reason 40k draws so many people in. The game was a fail, and it takes at the bare minimum, a no-limit mod to make it play remotely like an RTS.

I think so too, 40k fans expected something like DOW1 or DOW2 but not a Starcraft.

@@lonewolf501st9 yeah but the problem in here was that they wanted to sell us cheese but they decided to sell it as cheese cake, when they should have sell it as cheese from the bigining i think an original new franchise could have sold better.

Funny how the Ranked play of where its only space marines, Reflects almost perfectly considering space marines get the most lore, background history, etc. Because space marines sell the most on table top out of everything. I don't know if that's old news or not.

@@verbal_kinks0967 Yeah..... it's an RTS. If you want to design an rts with more then 1 race when theres 10+ to make from the "lore" that was in previous RTS games before that one. It tells me you plan to nickle and dime every single race that comes out past that. Soulstorm had more content then dawn of war 2. Dawn of war 2 had more content then dawn of war 3. The only thing 3 has is lag for your PC because its got graphics. Doesn't have sync kills. Doesn't have more maps to play on. Doesn't have world domination campaigns to get famalier with all the types of maps. Doesn't have multiple game modes in multiplayer to spice it up a bit. Doesn't have multiple races that are at least somewhat competitive with eachother to jump between and have fun with. It's not an RTS. It's a cash grab on a franchise that so badly needed someone to love it and care for it.

There are very few DOW 3 mods, my favorite mod is No Limit Mod.

And the graphics and gameplay of DOW 1 tortures the eyes and makes you wanna kill yourself with how clunky it plays (and I love Dark Crusade). Two can play at the game but if you admit it's just a preference then fair enough "Angelos’ armor makes no sense for that jump." Irrelevant' useless, and nonsensical criticism. This is a universe where fungus grows into killing machines that whatever they believe comes true. Is jumping armor from a Space Marine captain really something worth bringing up? No it isn't. Ther are other more valid criticisms. Please don't overshadow those with "criticisms" like this "There are many wrong factors. ." And many good ones like heroes feeling the best to play (DOW 2 doesn't count since it's not an RTS) or the Orks being the best gameplay wise (I play Eldar so that should tell you something) "The devs were gonna add more factions but it was scrapped due to the overall of the game" WRONG. It was scrapped because fans wen too fast and too hard into the bandwagon criticism *BEFORE* we got most if not all the factions in the game. At least we would've been left with a more complete package to fix but NOOOOOO~ they just had to say something now and sour the chances faster and got nothing out of it. "I can only see this played for fun & nothing more" And playing a game for fun is bad because!?!?

@@alexanerose4820 Good points but it’s usually down to our decision whether that comes from experience or other’s experience. How will I know what sources to trust? Is the game worth buying & yet a great deal of negativity influences many others to be dissuaded. The last point for fun is that I meant fun for you not for me. Not the kind the game for me, it’s the feeling of the game that I don’t like. Just cuz you say it’s fun doesn’t mean it is for others. One could say, it’s not my preference & didn’t like how they went about it.
