Welcome to Monster Madness 2019!! Justin and James review a classic kid's Halloween film... until they realize it's way worse than they remember. Spaced Invaders is a 1990 American science fiction comedy directed by Patrick Read Johnson and starring Douglas Barr, Royal Dano and Ariana Richards. speaking of "Sugar Induced hallucination movies". I watched a movie in the late 1980`s with Jawa like creatures coming to earth. There was an action scene with the aliens controlling a flying trolley in a supermarket. At least I think I saw it. Does anyone know the name of the movie ? Movie was shite btw

Lol same here, my mind was just blown by this review because I forgot about this movie and didn’t even recognize the name or the picture in the notification on the video. As soon as they showed a clip from the movie it all came back to me, they used to show this movie on tv on weekend afternoons or late at night when there was nothing else to put on and I watched it many times just because it was that or nothin lol

I enjoyed this movie. It's goofy but fun. I loved the speeding ticket for the ship going WAY over the speed limit, the part with the candy bar trap, the duck costume, and more. I have it on VHS somewhere.

This movie is basically live action Invader Zim. I have seen it fairly recently and I still like it. Maybe it's because I don't try and think too hard about what's going on when the movie flat out tells me that the martians are stupid.

I must admit I'm a little disappointed that this years MM is just rental reviews but exclusively horror movies. I much prefer the older style especially since we already have rental reviews. It is nice to have it every day again though.

I remember this movie. It was close to Halloween in the late 90s. I was 11 or 12 and asked my dad to rent a horror movie to watch. Did he rent Friday the 13, or Nightmare on Elm Street? Nope, he rented this movie...

Justin's sigh at 4:33 basically says "why did I pick this stupid movie?" But I'm glad he did, it has the total nostalgia factor for me. My 8 year old self was very excited about seeing this on TV back in the day. I remember going to school the Monday morning after it aired and talking about it non-stop to my classmates who also watched.

I watched this movie multiple times as a kid. It's very strange. I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it. I think it's best left to memory, and have no intention of ever watching it again.

5:18 I think one of my favourite appearances of the Zagnut bar was in the movie 48 Hrs. in the scene where Reggie Hammond is complaining to Jack Cates about being hungry and reasons with him "Look, I know a place. Let's go get something to eat." and then he walks over to a vending machine, buys a Zagnut bar and gives it to him and says "Yeap, There's your goddamn dinner. Come on."

I remembered this fondly from being a kid, because it helped me get over a fear of aliens. Up until that point, everything I'd seen relating to aliens was creepy/horror/depressing stuff. Things like the Alien movie, or unsolved mysteries. I don't remember jack about the movie to know why I came away less affriad of them as a whole. Just that I did.

Honestly I prefer this to Hocus Pocus as a cheezy Halloween kid friendly flick. ther a plot hole you could drive a pickup through, but considering that this was partly a send up of the 50's alien invasion films along with a reminder of how powerful a broadcast the 1937 Mercury Theater rendition of War of the Worlds.

According to Wiki, the old man (Sandman) is R. G. Armstrong. He isn't credited for appearing in Spaced Invaders, but who knows. Maybe he was invited on as a cameo..? That would make for some interesting film trivia! I mean, the side-by-side comparison and looking at the wrinkles in the forehead, there are a LOT of similarities there.

I caught the very end of this movie on TV one day. Specifically, I saw some weird looking aliens give a stick of dynamite to a probe droid from Star Wars, convincing him it's a gift or something. Then it explodes. It took me years to figure out what the movie was called.

did some research, apparently the Zagnut Bar is from the 1930s The bar contains no chocolate, but has a bit of Cocoa and it was originally made by the DL Clark Company but was later bought by Hershey The name Zagnut name is weird, most people assume the name originates from these terms Nut refering to the Coconut coating or the peanut center, and Zag may be referencing the popular slang term zigzag, since the bar came out in the 1930s
