Untouchable??.. USA 2 Spain 0.. 2009 Confederations cup.. an official game.. but you're right.. after 2012... they began to decline... Brazil 3 Spain 0.. (2013 Confederations cup final)... Netherlands 5 Spain 1 (2014 World Cup)... Chile 2 Spain 0... (2014 World cup)... Italy 2 Spain 0.. (2016 European Championship)... that team is lapsed...
furrycheetah2000 ..so what??... that is not my point.. my point is.. they weren't untouchable... and of course they didn't like to lose (In any tournament)... by the way, in the history, Spain (From 2008 to 2012) is not the best team by far... the best team in history is 1970 Brazil ..
Spain became one the big national teams in the world when they got the euro 2008, the world cup in 2010 and the euro 2012 again. That team was seriously a "Golden generation", I dont know if Spain will have a similar generation for the next 100 years...but they made history.
marioalll you could also say the same thing about the golden generation of Brazil from 1994 to 2002. Went to three straight world cup finals, won in 94 and 2002 only losing to a loaded French team in 98. Also, in that span of 8 years they won their continental tournaments in 97, and 99. They basically won everything except the 98 world cup in those 8 years. That's crazy!
I don't think anyone said that Gerrard and Lampard are better than Xavi and Iniesta. There's just regret that Gerrard and Lampard weren't used properly together in England's national team like Van Der Vaart and Sneijder sometimes for Holland.
I am from croatia and besides croatia, I always support italy. I was crying so much that night, my heart got a bit broken. since then, I am not that invested in football. 😅
Torres clutch in the big moments. Euro 2008 Final game winning goal, 2010 World Cup Final played the initial ball to Inestia that Cesc would get to and then play back to Andres for 2010 World Cup game winner, Euro 2012 Golden Ball winner and scored in the Final, and finally the break away goal against Barca to seal Chelsea's place in CL Final. "El Nino"
Casillas, Valdes, Ramos, Pique, Alba, Busquets, Javi Martinez, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Iniesta, Fabregas, Silva, Torres, Pedro, Navas, Mata, Cazorla What an un-fucking-believable squad this was. Spain's golden generation packed with legends of the game in every position and on the bench. Probably the greatest international team and squad of all time.
He was torching the left side of the pitch all tournament with those end-to-end runs. If you had him while playing EURO 2012 fantasy, you'll never forget his all-time performance.
KingTolgaTV no,i love spain..i wish they get back their golden era..but not 2018..cause 2018 is for argentina..this year maybe being the last world cup champion for leo messi to win it..so why not??
What a team we had in that time. Best football team of the history. I think that we will never see a team like this, they changed the football and football history.
Italy was threatening for much of this game but when Thiago Motta was the final substitution and then got injured, it was game over. Italy was forced to play with 10 men for 30 minutes already trailing 2-0. This game was closer than the score suggests, especially when it 11 vs 11. Spain were definitely the favorites though, but Italy were very unlucky in this game.
@@crocutabruta9723 Yes they did. I think Italy deciding to play Chiellini, who was nursing an injury at time, was a mistake. His mobility was hindered and that played into the first goal. That's why they took him out early in the game. The worst part, however, was that Motta injury that made them play with 10 men for 30 minutes. It's a tall task coming back from two goals down with 10 men against any team, let alone Spain.
@@kurtkachidza3613 yes, there was a spell in the second half when Italy were outplaying them and could have made it 2-1. It would have been a different game then.
2008-12 Spanish team especially the 2010 and 2012 sides are the greatest national sides ever. They didn't even give a chance to the opposition. Such dominance
They beat Italy in shootouts in 2008, beat Portugal in shootouts in 2010 and 2012 and had to squeeze by Germany and Netherlands. An amazing team, but not as dominant as they're made out to be.
@@blackmamba3060 You cherry-picked 4 matches in a 4 year window - and all matches that Spain won, nonetheless. If that doesn't tell you how wrong you are, nothing will. No team has ever had a period of dominance like Spain no matter how you look at it personally, it's just a factual observation.
One of the best team of a hundred. That team was unbeatable. Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Torres, Pique, Ramos, alba and the unscorable goalkeeper. When he is goalkeeping. My god what a team that was
this team achieved what no other team has in sports back to back..to back..brilliant generation that will stand in my opinion decades before mimicked..outstanding football matched with results
@Erik Kuqi he has said that was the *most dominant* , not the best. And I think he is right, this spanish team was the most dominant team ever, maybe not the best, but clearly the most dominant. I mean, for example, any of the best generations of Brasil could be better than Spain in terms of skill, but not as dominant as team as Spain was.
@@onenessvijay2566 there's no need to be that mean dude, he just imagine how dominent spain could be with Messi in It's sad that he haven't won even though they went to 3 consecutive finals 😢
It is true but you still have a pretty solid team. Don't forget that. I am italian and i can tell you that after we won the world cup we just declined. Now we are trying tho give our young players an opportunity but let's see. I love the spanish squad. You have all my support.
David • yes you are very right mate in those each years Spain 🇪🇸 became to European champion but not only in those 2 years, in 1964 it became to European champion as well, it has 3 European championship, that is why it deserves to being admired so much with whole hearts. 1964, 2008, 2012
Once in a lifetime team that was Each and every player was stacked with talent with no weak link There will never be a better international team than Spanish one (2008-2013)
Xavi and Iniesta, the heart in of one of the best national teams ever. Their midfield was the best thing about it. Xavi & Iniesta controlling the game and players like Mata, Fabregas, David Silva etc made the difference... oh god I miss these times... 😢
That a team wins a Euro, a World Cup and another Euro in a row, I do not think it will be repeated in more than 200 years, I thank God for having lived these moments.
Imagine retiring in 2006-07 or making your debut in 2013 - how miffed you would feel. I feel a bit for Raul as he retired in 2006 with 99 caps and is considered one of Spain’s best-ever players, but once he retired they started winning.
Adesso i campioni d'Europa siamo noi, siamo i piú forti🇮🇹🏆.
How can one team have so many technically gifted players? Almost each and every one of them are capable of unlocking a stubborn defence. Xavi, Iniesta, David Silva, Juan Mata, Fàbregas, ... Spain's golden generation.
