I have this figure, mine is the NECROPLASM SPAWN, it's the same figure but it's made of translucent green plastic for the body, the cape and tombstone are painted
MOst posable Spawn figure ever, I know because I have plenty of them. Great look for Spawn in his first suit edition, and the cape being so articulated is spot on. I know Spawn the comic has been over for a while now but it's still my favorite, I hope they do another movie or animated series :)
@@genghiskhan930 Yes I don't think the MK one is a bad toy but it's definitively not my Spawn. I never played the MK version that has him so I have no relation with that rendition of this character. I want a new Comic Spawn figure with Tod McFarlane style and, ofc, a big F...ing cape!!!
To anyone interested in picking up this figure, but terrified by the prices it goes for online, the general body and articulation of this figure has been re-released at least twice to my knowledge. It's used for the Spawn Cover Series i.98 and i.88 figures. The i.98 figure is the exact same body as this, but with an unmasked head and a more basic cape. It's painted more like modern Spawn; without the red color on his gloves and under his symbol, but the sculpt on the body is unmodified. The i.88 figure is a retool of this body as a proper modern Spawn; with a big boot and gauntlet. It also has an unmasked head, and the cape it comes with is preposed and covers most of the figure, almost as if they were keeping its fully articulated body a secret. The red parts on this figure are colored slightly more orange than normal, because it's a Halloween themed figure. You can find either of them loose online for $50 and under. With a bit of custom work, either of these could be very serviceable substitutes for this 10th anniversary figure. Just wanted to help make it known to anyone who might be interested.
Mad Maxx I got a 60 dollar spiderman figure for 30 at a con. Pretty sure it wasn’t bootleg. And even if it wasn’t it still looks nice and fits perfectly with my display.
god this brings back memories..... still have all my old spawn figure from 92 somewhere, might just have to dig them out some time now. great vid as always
It’s the end of 2023 and I finally picked one of these up for a good price…actually I got 2 because the first one came with the cape separated from the skull up around his neck, (seems like a common problem from what I’ve seen online)…then I thought my second one had a broken ankle in the packaging until I saw this review. Thank you very much for demonstrating that double ankle pivot, you just saved me from buying a third haha.
great review shartimus ive always been a big spawn fan but i never knew they had a figure like this one i have to get him thanks for bringing it to my attention keep up the awesome videos
mine just got delivered today, and the cape came as a separate piece that you could attach and detach via a square plug hole in the back. it was nicely separated by plastic packaging, the whole thing was nicely packaged to be honest. thanks for the video review Shart your the reason I even knew about this figure, oh and you convinced me to get the Animated Batman series Batmobile too so High fiving a million angles rite now.
Those figures by Mcfarlane toys are(unfortunately they was)personally for me THE best manufactured statue figures for the money on the market ❗ NOBODY can beat Mcfarlane's quality in THAT price range ❗ 90% of the them flawlessly made and from 2003-2007 I bought most of my Spawn figures brand new for around 18€ and the special editions for 27-35€ I mean such a quality in a mass production.....I was and am TOTALLY satisfied as a customer 👍 I really don't know WHY Mcfarlane stopped making Spawn series 🤔 but again an action figure statue so soooo well made for just 18€....till today I am still speechless.
Yeah... This is by far one of the best Spawn figures (imo), really impressive considering just when it was made too! Extremely advanced articulation, which actually reminds me of the McFarlane AVP line... If you havn't seen those you should def' check 'em out as well!!
Piss on those AVP figures man Neca has far superior Predator and Alien figs i mean sure the Mcfarlane ones were good for their time but are now way too expensive.
Yeah.. There's no doubt NECA's current line of figure is better, at least as far as articulation is concerned. However, McFarlane's AVP figures were made back in 2004, and if you compare them to the first run of Neca Predator figures they are actually better. Look at Neca's Wolf Predator for instance, and they are both incredibly expensive if you miss out on the initial release.
NECA's current Predators have way better sculpt, paint and certainly articulation and yeah i agree with you the Mcfarlane figs were good for their time and were far better than NECA's first Predator but are still way too damn expensive.
Yep... They are pricey. However, some of them arn't that bad. I was able to land the McFarlane Predator from Predator 2 for $25 and the ALIEN figure from the first wave of AVP for $25... But, then I had to pay $40 for the McFarlane Elder and $60 for the McFarlane Celtic figures. Those prices were from my local shop here in Sac Ca.
Back when i wanted to get some of the Mcfarlane Preds i couldn't find any on Ebay under $100 and that was about 3 years ago so yeah good thing you live near a shop that carried them.
Beautiful figure! I have this one mint card in my entire collection for over ten year's now and no he is not comeing out the package. If only McFarlane can make the walking dead figures like this one.I would be more happier. Anemone review! Shartimus.
My Uncle Alfred bought me that same spawn figure back in August 11 of 2007 I just turn 19 years old that day I also bought a deluxe 13 inch Superman that day the money my grand dad got me and my 2 uncles we to dinner and movies that day great memories great times.
For the loose base: Push the cross ALL THE WAY DOWN. Mine was beginning to willt too but then I pushed it all the way in and now it's still, after 6 years, completely straight! Hope it helps
great review but if you want a spawn figure thats in perfect scale with marvellegends get the spawn classic covers 88 spawn he has a huge cape that hinders his articulation but when you take it off he has similiar articulation to this but the legs area little different
My grail. Got one for 30 on eBay when it first came out in 02, and found another one a few years ago, MOC at a local resale shop for about 60 bucks. I knew I had to pull the trigger bc that’d be the last time I was able to find one at a reasonable price.
Damn, I didn't know you even wanted this. I had mine still sealed since getting it way back in the day. I just sold mine for dirt cheap a few days ago.
I have a large collection of Spawn toys from 1994-2001. McFarlane has a huge amount of variants so it is hard to have a complete collection but I do have a good number of the variants. I stopped collecting in 2001 and wish I picked this one up. I think I might have to go back and complete my Spawn collection one of these years. I am focusing on a complete Walking Dead collection so I will focus on that for now. I don't think the waking dead will have such a huge production of figures over the next couple of years when the show begins to reach its finally.
Yeah I don’t recommend taking off the cape once it’s off since it’s so heavy it’ll keep popping off since it’s made of some rubber material. Also be careful with the chain connections for the front skull belt piece shits are thinner than a condom lol
Great figure! How can MacFarlane say it looked awkward, it looks fantastic! Say, when are you gonna be reviewing the Amazing Spider-man 2 Marvel Select figure? I've seen him floating around Amazon...
i have this figure also but i have the al silver version. People say it is the aniversary edition but could not find it anywhere. Sadly no cross... it was a display piece in a store. really want this version as wel...
I have this and my brother has the Halloween version with the tree. Same based figure even can interchange the cape but the Halloween version has one big foot and one big arm guard.
I would suggest pouring super glue in the cape's joints and moving them around so that it doesn't get glued together. Once the glue is dry, and if you kept the joints from hardening together, the joints should be tighter and won't pop out ad easily. There are a bunch of other techniques you can look up, but that one woks best for me. Hope that helped!
Just bought mine today, I seriously want to open it but I'm scared something might happen to it. Still love the shit out of it though! Great review Shartimus! I don't know....I grew up catholic alright?!
It's 2020 and still one of the best-articulated spawn I have, Spawn MK11 is still on the mail because of the pandemic. Will feature this soon on my channel.
Can anybody please help me, I recently got this figure and the right side is a little messed up from me trying to fix stress marks with a blow dryer and now it's uh even and very annoying plus the right corner Hausa little intention and I tried using tape to pull it out but that didn't work. Can anybody please tell me how I can fix it without making it worse please
Omfg, I still have this figurine that my mother gave me in early 2003 in my collection (with the 10th anniversary Shadowhawk) and I had no idea of its current value. Too bad I no longer have its box (I was too young at the time to bring value to the packaging). The most impressive thing is that she remains one of the most beautiful figurines of Spawn despite her age. They could re-release it without making any changes and it wouldn't shock anyone.
Thats a bad ass figure the cape has more detaill than the xmen box set figures all together lol. The base is sick and the pose you can get it on looks fantastic, hahaa your teeth allways whistle in your reviews.
This is a awesome figure but I had a problem with this figure I hope Todd could make another spawn new figure more articulation and more accessories it look good but his arms doesn't go up and down with his shoulder and no double jointed elbows and more hands like 2 trigger fingers 2 fisted hands and 2 claws hands also alternative head for spawn that would be a great figure
I feel like they should have consolidated their money and instead of toe articulation and a very articulated cape, they should have given the figure ball jointed shoulders and a less articulated cape
Actually the Spawn Figure is in good height comparison to Savage Dragon. Spawn I think is 6ft 2 as Al Simmons, but is 6ft 11 as Spawn (That's the height of Hellboy btw for those that don't know). Savage Dragon is actually only 5ft 10, however his sail makes him 6ft 3, so his sail is 5 inches tall, so if u wanna be really acurate, Savage Dragon with sail should be right below Spawns Eyes.
