Special Warfare Officer- leaders, warriors, all of them able to grow spectacular mustaches seemingly at will. You have tons of questions about the pipeline and being an officer- and there is no one better to answer those questions other than Lt. Nate Ziegler.
Lt. Ziegler just graduated the pipeline and can speak first hand to the impacts of Covid, his experiences, his hardest schools, and the challenges he faced throughout his 2-year adventure. As always- we want you to get that information to be successful on your own journey.
Huge thank you to Lt Ziegler for putting up with Aaron and Trent and being generally Enlisted guys and giving him crap. He’s a true professional and an outstanding Special Tactics Officer.
Hopefully, everyone had a great Thanksgiving and as always, we appreciate you and your support.

You guys are awesome. I’m going to do ROTC for either the Air Force or the army. Air Force special warfare is advancing rapidly!

Easiest way to choose, is to look at the mission set that you want to serve in. Rangers are different than GBs, which are different than seals , which are different that SW. The requirements are different , the expectations are different but they are all amazing! Im currently infantry, and i would go to the air force for special tactics. You get to taste a little bit of everything, and the air force attaches to any branch of service. Good luck!

Love the videos and podcasts! I did like a quadruple take on Lt Zieglers name… Inspiring as hell to see someone with my name succeed at the almost exact same thing I am striving for. As a AFROTC cadet, these videos and podcasts are one of the most helpful thing I have found.

Pretty sure SR does not have an officer equivalent for the career field. STOs will be leading SR teams.

@@sakethtata17 i was wondering that. Thanks for the insight. I havent got to talk to recruiters yet.

Just a note: Was his face supposed to show? 19:20. I noticed that his face isn't shown for 99% of the video and I assumed it was for OPSEC. Then again, his full name is in the description so, I doubt it's an issue, haha. Great video guys.

Really noticed that...I wonder if the video feed was the real problem. Originally I thought "ok, yeah...OPSEC". Anybody got the low-down on that? XD

My SW recruiter said the AF wasn’t looking for special warfare officers specifically TACPO

I’d definitely ask more than one recruiter. I can only speak from my experience here in Southern California, but I’m taking the PAST next month for my STO package so they definitely are “looking” for people.

@@WhatTheFawnz did you talk to a special warfare or officer recruiter??
@WhatTheFawnz
@WhatTheFawnz 2 года назад
@@brendongrant8411 I've spoken to both. Both are SW recruiters with one being for enlisted while the other is for officer and I also attended an officer briefing that covered which jobs big AF is currently hiring for. I'll be honest though, I haven't heard from the officer sw recruiter in months now for some reason (called, emailed, texted multiple times, ect.) so my enlisted recruiter is helping with my packet/recording the past scores thankfully. My best advice for the officer route is to take the initiative and get as much of that packet done on your own, reach out to your local ROTC detachment to take the AFOQT, and lastly continue to prepare physically for that past test. I'm no professional or expert in this but I've done my fair share of research so if you have any questions feel free to keep sending them and I'll help as best as I can.

@@WhatTheFawnz Hey man, wanted to know how early did you start to reach out to the ROTC detachment? Funnily enough but I'm also in SoCal and was almost about to call detachment 075 to ask if they had anyone related to AFSPECWAR to talk to, I'm a senior in HS and about to graduate soon and I still got a long ways to go physically. Only interaction I had was with a few recruiters at a convention, so I'm a tad nervous lol. I'd also like to know how you were physically around my age, I wanna compare my progress so far and base my readiness off of a few other people around my age with similar goals. I was hoping if I just stick to training and eventually start swimming once I can, I'll be on a good track to success but any words of wisdom will help. Thanks man in advance!

Any insight on whether or not the Special Warfare Airmen Program is still occurring for Civilians? Been hearing mixed things on the internet for research.
