I have 2 they paired up, and seem to have incorporated the mini zebra danios into their group. At the time i didn't know you should have at least 6 to 10. But they seem very happy, and have grown in such a short time.

That's called stress schooling, a sign that they are not happy at all.

Fabulous little fish! I really enjoy my school of 15 along with a single bolivian ram in a planted 20 long. :) Hardy and fun to watch.

In 45 years of keeping fish I'd never kept Harlequin Rasbora. Then on a whim a got a little school of them and fell in love. I'm really sorry I never kept them before.

How do Espei (Lambchop) Rasboras compare? Are these also as hardy and good for beginners as the Harlequin is?

Hi there, great question! In our opinion, Harlequin Rasboras are the easiest, but both the Espei and Hengeli Rasbora are pretty straightforward to care for and good choices for beginners as well!

Ember Tetras (H. amandae) are a good choice for those types of tanks! 👍

I have had just 2 Rasboras in a 10 gallon planted, sand substrate tank. They seem very happy and school with 2 zebras danios and 3 white skirt tetra's. Also have 2 pigmy corys and 1 dwarf Ghost Shrimp. I'm working on getting a bigger tank..but really not needed. My ph is high but they have adapted. 8.0 pH. 76 to 80 Temp. Fluval aqua clear H.O.B. 1 SMALL SPONGE FILTER. GOD BLESS YOU

honestly not the hardest to get them to spawn just a pain raising fry. mine often spawn in the mornings on an algae magnet [ i removed the magnet and they dont do it as much now] particularly when i first got them. but my neons and the other harlequins ate the eggs

@@RaceSmokie i hear varying reports. some say they carefully place them on plant leaves but despite having tons of plants in the tank they chose the magnet. they sort of scattered the eggs on the magnet but they didnt stick to it and the eggs fell down to the substrate where they got eaten
