Baffles me that people were that close to the track. I’ve had to tell parents off in children’s athletic events to get off of the track. We had to pause for 15 minutes because a parent refused and screamed at me while I politely asked everyone to scoot back because they’re in a lane. Almost into two lanes. The headteacher had to step in and reprimand them infront of spectators because of their disgusting behaviour. I was like 16 running an event we had to set up for our exams. You can blame the organisers too for allowing people to be that close to the track but people like to be run over and insert themselves into events.

The woman, who stepped onto the road during the race and had her back to the cyclists, was fined 1,200 euros, or about $1,350 - far less than the maximum penalties she was facing. The charges under consideration carried a possible one-year prison term and a fine of €15,000. At the woman’s trial, in October, prosecutors requested a four-month suspended prison sentence. She did not have a previous criminal record."

Can’t claim to be a fan if you are more worried about getting yourself on camera than respecting the athletes. Even without the sign itself the persons arms are extended into the road and their lead foot is on the road as well, absolutely shocking behaviour
