I've played a lot of specter recently, and the best thing about it seems the versatility it has. Changing 1-2 utilities and 1-2 traits is enough to fit anywhere from open world to WvW to different roles in PvE, and this video shows the most of its potential perfectly. Need DPS instead of alac for your group? Just swap middle trait in specter, get more venoms instead of wells, get Viper gear and voila! It's also crazy how much sustain does Specter have for a dps/alac support role. Covering 5 people with huge barriers with Consume Shadows saved my group from a wipe a lot of times already :D
its borderline overpowered because you slot in a dps that provides healing, so if your group is struggling but you don't want to blame the healers, just sneak in an extra support with specter :P
Spectre is making it way harder to play my alts. The playstyle feels natural and I'm overflowing with accessible utility and practical answers to most situations. I've got useful boons, great barrier, more conditions than a pandemic, and it feels so good to solo break bars like they're tissue paper. And I've got a mini mesmer portal, to ensure I can support ANY content. Playing anything else leaves me feeling naked.
Will definitely play this! I had no interest to even try specter but this convinced me, it looks really fun to play and different than the usual DPS or condi builds. Thanks for your video, always appreciated 👍
I would love to see your One for All build on Vindicator. I've seen your introduction video on the series and I agree, as a new player, meta builds are not meant for pve content (outside of raids). So that's why I've been loving your builds. so yeah, Vindicator :)
In pve content, Is it normal that deal next to little dmg / cant last against enemies? I don't have runes yet so im not aure if thats the issue or not Also my max hp is 16 k (i think) and the shadow gauge is like over 15 k
Ive spent a lot of time on thief as PP... I perfected a build to have insane cleave damage ( i dont think anything else has a higher 5 target DPS ) but this change made me come back after a long time away play WoW and other games Besides... I miss the rains down in Silverwastes
Could you maybe do a WvW tank setup? maybe something like a herald tank? or a guardian or warrior tank of some sort? or maybe a hybrid of a support/tank?
the site is updated by me, its because the video serves as a guide for the mechanics but it cant be updated as easily as a webpage can be so use the build on the page but the guide of the video@@piet-0
@@Vallun Cool. Would you mind explaining why you went away from the healing and shadowforce from traversing dusk in PvE, and also why you switched away from bow to sword in PvP and WvW? Also, why do you consider using your scepter skills on allies unnecessary in PvE, but more necessary in PvP and WvW?
@@piet-0 1. they changed the alacrity to be on another trait so may as well go for more damage instead of resistance 2. sword is better in pvp because it has more survivability and utility for doing the job that scepter doesnt do, making it actually better at what shortbow usually does 3. PvE usually has dedicated healers and much easier to survive in, PvP by nature is dangerous and requires you to use more of the tools of your class. But of course you can still do it in pve if needed
I need to start going to strikes and pushing My fractal level... All I have to do is to get a full set of Ritualist gear and acendant ritualist trinkets for agony resistens................ .....
Thanks, great guide! Question: I alredy use the celestial/aristocracy build from metabattle for which they also claim to have decent support potential. I mostly use it for solo/open world though. Would you say I need Ritualist gear if I want to get into supporting group content or can I get away with celestial?
Love these guides. I would love a quick section on how to get Ritualist's armor if you don't have Legendary armor. Are there better options than coughing up 20g per piece on the TP?
the wiki says you can craft the ritualist insignias and inscriptions using 10 echovald amber you get from mining the petrified wood, and then 150 research notes, you can then stat swap the gear from there
for team play ritualist for sure, for solo play trailblazer, essentially if you are interested in more than just solo roaming the ritualist is better everywhere else
I've been hearing that healing power doesn't scale well with specter but can someone tell me why ? I read that healing power was good for barrier-generation so why isn't it interesting since we're providing a lot of barrier ? Is plaguedoc instead of ritualist viable or not ?
I'm loving support specter (and I mean full support); unfortunately it can't give 18-25 might and aegis/stab, which makes it more of a troll pick. The power of being able to immediately revive the asshole that was downed far is sublime, the amount of barrier, healing and cc it has is beautiful; but without might zzzz. Rit Alac spect gives a very respectable amount of barrier; but for generic pug groups it doesn't work as a subg healer, nor does it have enough damage to compete with mecha, rit rene or miracrity; not to mention that he still lacks might I hope in the next patch they will balance the sources of might and I can fully enter without being overshadowed by the other alacs or supports BTW one of my teefs is called Scepter And Specter; yeh, i loved the class. Edit: pve x10 cont
@@synclimatic7800 use all ritualist gear, if you cant use that then just use what you can get out of the alternatives. no need to optimize an unoptimal replacement
@@Vallun thanks! I have no problem with ritualist gear and trinkets, only the back item i have problem with. I don't know why they haven't added exotic or ascended ritualist back piece yet.
I’ve tried playing support Spector in WvW and I just don’t think it’s viable outside of small roaming groups. It’s wafer thin and literally melts as soon as a power profession looks at it, making unplayable. I can’t provide support if I’ve got literally no sustain.
