This helped so much. My audio sounded all fuzzy and crappy when I just checked the "keep pitch" box, using the manual pitch shifter really fixed the issue and made my audio sound really natural when sped up

Did you know that this tutorial is out of date? The same process works but it is different with Adobe Premiere Pro 2022. We use this process on our live streams that we reupload to our channel sped up by 110%. Thanks for this tutorial. Thanks for the tip. It was very helpful. Onward, AW

Super-helpful video, thanks. I'd tried the "maintain audio pitch" checkbox in the Speed/Duration dialog and indeed found it wanting! Btw, the "Pitch Shifter" effect seems to work well now.

The "maintain audio pitch" setting sounds like it's layering on a real tight plate reverb. I have no idea why it applies that, but I ran some test samples through Audition and (whether they meant to or not) it's definitely getting plate reverb added.

Thanks, great video. Question, how do you do that when you only decrease speed of a small portion of the video clip. I am loosing audio sync immediately as it seems I am only slowing down the video and not the audio. Appreciate any support there!

So good, thank you. And HEY EVERYONE, I found a chart that tells you what semitones and cents to use based on what percentage you change the speed, so you don't have to listen and guess. If you search "semitone percent conversion table", the first two image results are the chart (that was the case for me, anyway). It says "Semitone/Picth/IPS/Percentage Conversion Table" at the top.

For those that are stuck and can't find the aupitch plugin after going to edit-preferences-audio-plugins and even after rescanning it doesn't show it, that means it is likely part of the wave plugin set which costs an additional $150+/year. Like me, you may have to peasant it up with the regular pitch shifter which isn't great.

Awesome! Thanks. A note...PP2023 seems to have dropped the AUPitch options and replaced the obsolete Pitch Shifter with a new offering. It doesn't have the fancy knobs, either, unfortunately, but it works well.

Hey, you said that Maintain Audio Pitch was not that good but currently in the year 2021, I don't know if it has been updated to be better or not. It seems to works pretty well for me as a quick and dirty solution. It kind of does its job, it's not an EXACT 1/1 match but it's close enough most of the time honestly through my testing. It is perfectly fine if you want to do it quickly and don't want to fumble with sliders or knobs. But this video is still good for those who want to refine and tune the audio exactly how they want it.
