Today we paint some Boxdark troopers for Bretonnia with a yellow and black scheme, commonly famous for the connection to Mousillon. These undead Bretonnians seem very popular and this method is one readily available option for the Old World troopers needed to play. Regardless if you use Bretonnians or the Vampire Counts.
This will all be done using a simple process streamlined enough to speedpaint an entire army worth of troopers while also relaxed enough not to get bored. It does include a step using oil colors but there is no airbrush involved so it can be done by anyone.
Most things in this video are pretty common stuff and I will not go into details as I assume that most viewers have already seen at least a few of videos about it. To keep it short I will try to only talk about the stuff where I actually have something specific to say.
I do not concider these miniatures to be actual Grimdark, that in my view requires a bit more artistic skill. They are grim and dark enough to support some proper grimdark charcters or units while still being easy to produce and boxarty enough to tie the army to the common astetethics of Warhammer Fantasy.
Their bases are the bridge between these boxdark miniatures and whatever green Warhammer Fantasy field you will find yourself on. Or one for The Old World, if that makes any difference.
In the end they are not the greatest paint job I've done but that is not the point of these troopers. Their job is to be a part of a unit at table top distance. As such they do a really decent job. Especially compared to the effort to paint them.
