Pity they will only cater for the DJI users with this "Pro" version. Would be nice to see them also do this for the Walksnail and HDZero users as well.

I’m mounting an HD zero freestyle V2 in this heat sink right now. I 3D printed a drill jig to precisely drill the 20x20 hole pattern with the tap-drill size for M2 (1.6mm), and then I will tap the aluminum. I will report back after I’ve tested it, and post the STL. Of course this still has the downside of not allowing access to the firmware update port on the VTX, so I’ll have to remove the VTX (or at least one side of the aluminum heat sink) to update firmware. Speedybee could have included these tapped holes and a clearance for the firmware plug, without affecting DJI compatibility 🤬

What’s most amazing about this frame is how stable and quiet it is. Super easy quad to tune. I’ve built both 6S and 8S models with the X frame version and absolutely love how both of them fly

Old FS225 V2 as also quiet and stable, and also beautiful - that’s why I fell in love with it. If you say it's quiet I ll def give it a try (already ordered one).

I agree! Finally flew mine the other day. Put the supafly tune on it and she was good to go. It flew incredibly smooth with a simple tune.

I'm using this frame and have ordered Kit B. The only glitch I see is with the stack side plates. It looks like the motor wires might not be able to come in from the outside, like most drones. Instead, they might need to be routed around the side plate and not under it. I do like this frame.

Yeah that’s exactly right. I built 2 of these frames, one with the speedy bee F7 stack, the other with an Iflight blitz ESC, which has the motor soldering pads on the corners, and it doesn’t fit at all. For the speedybee stack I had to route the wires around the sides, which worked pretty well in the end, but it was pretty annoying to solder

Howdy all. I've been a LOS wing flyer for years and have just started getting into FPV wings (T1 Ranger 7:15 and a ZOHD Altus on the way). I'd love to buy a quad too and thinking of getting one of the Speedybee 5" frames (currently using their FCs which are great). I have Realflight but also plan to buy Liftoff to practice flying quads. Will building up one of their 5" frames be an okay start with quads or should I go for something else? Also, will Walksnail VTXs (HD Pro, V2, Moonlighting) fit okay in the Speedybee frames? I find it super disappointing that they don't have Walksnail options with their FPV drones.

Their frames are a hell to assemble. I am talking out of personal experience: Master 5 HD (V1), Mario 5 DC, Master 5 V2. If you are a total beginner and just want an "easy" frame, than take Apex Evo or Geprc Mark 5. They are way easier to build (assembled both of them too)

It fits, but there is no appropriate mounting holes. I have 3D printed a drill jig to put tapped holes in the heat sink. I’m going to test it and report back and post STLs

didn't we already do this years ago putting plates on the sides of quads and finding out it make for terrible aero dynamics from not allowing air to pass through the body being blocked by the side plates. I mean in like 7 years of flying i think i damaged an FC from impact one time when a branch got in and hit it hard. Just seems like a waste of weight and performance for not much benefit in protection.

13:54 assembly shows a pretty good shot of the 03 USBC with the cover on. It looks like it has plenty of space to plug in without having to disassemble. That would be horrible.

No mention of the fact that the arms are not identical. This is a major design flaw in my opinion. That means you will always need two spare arms to be save. Granted, with a deadcat style frame this is always the case but when I buy a true X frame I like all the arms to be identical.

He's a "Brit" Ala Welsh version. We pronounce it wrong. Lived in England for 5 years. Got corrected on a whole bunch of words. And there is no such thing as a "Hamburger". There's no ham in the burger only beef! Lol
