Spellcasting in the EZD6 RPG from Runehammer Games 

Just came back for a quick refresher before playing my first magick user; I really like that the resistance dice get rolled before you choose what power level you’re casting at.

Conjurers in this system are amazing. The freedom to create your own spells on the fly has really let some amazing scenarios flourish in my games. As always Scotty thanks for sharing, thank you for your time and your passion.

Honestly, this game instantly became one of my favourites for how amazingly simple it is, but at the same time it really doesn't feel almost any different from playing the countless OSR books I've tried over the years and that's including my own hacks. This is simply a genious level product and I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this before. It's simply just perfect for one-offs or any game sessions where you don't want to dive into a rules heavy system. And the best part of it is that the game uses the best die of them all; the always lovely, so perfectly balanced and endlessly reliable D6.

This is nearly identical to the magic system I use in my home brew game. Except your dice can explode and that's way cooler lol

I just picked up EZD6 last Friday, after learning about it, last Friday. Waiting for my book from drive through rpg, but reading the pdf has me excited to run and play it. You have an amazing product here, Scotty! 🤘 Now I have to figure out how to get a bunch of d20 hungry players to try it.

We are running our first one shot this Sunday using EZD6 and im very excited for it, its a one shot called mind over mimic. Running it with normal d&d rules takes forever due to the amount of time your in combat. I think there are 47 mimics total in 3 rooms. Hoping with how this plays out to have the whole story done in under 2 hours and leave everyone feeling involved and happy at the end! Thank you for all the effort you put into this. Are you planning on adding more races/classes in later books? I bought the pdf for this and am getting the hardcover copy as well and would love more books with more races, classes, maybe a few more inclinations, and definitely more monsters!

Great stuff, I love the magic system. One question, using spells in combat crit when you roll 6s? I was watching this video in hope that you rolled a 6 so I got this answered 😂

Loving ezd6! For real though, where did you get that sick stone floor mat? Did you make it?

I love the easy spell system. No secondary books and multiple tables. The maintaining the spell with karmapoints I am a bit unsure of. As a new spell caster i think that is great. I don't want to complicate the system but I would think that more experienced, older spellcasters could keep the spell up for longer at a lower cost. I would think there is a Difference between Gandalf the Grey and a newbie mage). Or maybe some foci , level up feature if they somehow specialise in that branch of magic or specialist items could do it. Maybe graduating as a master in their craft their tasked with designing a wizard staff that reflects the type of magic they possess at their core and personality. I am making a scenario were a volve(viking spellcaster) has to cast a spell several times in a powerful ritual of DemiGodlevel magic. The spellcasting will be hard so spellburn will be really bad but as a faustian bargain she burns of a D66 of years of her life instead of taking the spell burn. She will most likely come out of the ritual as an old woman but also the savior of mankind....giving the old norse gods hundreds of years extea to prepare and muster fallen heroes before Ragnarok happens.

Someone help please, where do I find the rule for spellburn & anchoring in the soft cover book? I know it's fairly straight forward, but I know someone will ask about it & there are reasons people don't trust my memory.

I grabbed my first box of Epic Encounters and hope to run a 1 off using ezd6 with some friends to get a group going. I'll lyk if it happens and how it goes 😀

DM Scotty silly question but where did you get the token hearts and karma tokens?

Don't have the book yet, but did I understand correctly elsewhere, that magic can not cause direct harm? Do elementalists forgo that by the element damaging objects/monsters?

Okay you gotta stop making these videos because it's making me want to try out this system so badly!! May have to purchase this book in the near future... If I remember correctly you have a setting type book to go along with this on the way? Side note: I love the little hearts and karma rock pieces! Simple but add such a nice touch!
