I’m stuck here at another city ever since the quarantine began. I swear I’m having withdrawal symptoms for not being able to touch, hug, or smother a dog. But seeing Benny enjoying his day with his hoomans is a very good cure for me.

Oh to see everything through Benny's eyes for just a few minutes... well, the camera is the next closest thing, thank you for that. Benny is full of life, stopping just long enough before charging off to the next thing he hasn't quite fully planned on how to investigate, but does anyway 😍

So sorry people have been unkind. I've had three Berners, lost my precious Bob a year ago and I cry everyday for him. They are indeed a most wonderful creature. I enjoy Benny so much, he such a stinker....he is so blessed to be with you. I think he's actually well behaved for a berner...they do have a sense of humor that some people mistake for being stubborn! Enjoy him, they never live long enough!

We tried washing our Bernese puppy with the outside hose and could only manage it two times when he was under one year old. ( he hated it of course) After that we started taking him to the groomer every two months.

He had a great day. Two thoughts: 1) be careful with the agility stuff with Berners - we lost our previous one at age 5 the day after agility trials. Bloat due to the big chest cavity; and 2) it's not quarantine if you're visiting people. Be careful. Even if you think you know that you're virus free, you can't be certain.

They always look smaller when wet and our dog took some 4 hrs before it was dried up. He also loved to lay on top of you, as if saying you made me take a bath, so now i dry on top of you, lol.

You should get the dog sprayer from Walmart!! It’s only 25 dollars, I just bought one because I live in an apartment and it makes it soooo much easier to give my dog a bath! ❤️ it even has a thing where you can put your dog shampoo in it and it will dispense it out with some water

It’s important to make sure he gets completely dry with some sort of blow dryer or he could develop “hot spots” which is a term for a section of the undercoat not completely drying and becoming a breeding ground for bacteria which can cause skin irritation, infection, skin conditions, or patchy balding. Hope you guys can figure out a way to get him clean and dry so he can still enjoy all the things that get him dirty :)

Hello! Don’t worry we definitely know what hot spots are And this video was filmed over a year ago. He doesn’t get many baths since it’s not good for his skin And he doesn’t usually get dirty

@@BennyBerner that’s awesome, it’s always good to see pet parents who take education seriously for the safety of their pet! :) I only commented because I know that not a ton of people know about these things, I worked as a dog bather for a while and most people coming in had no idea how important it was to get them 100% dry

@@shaylahastings6383 oh yes! I did so much research on berners! And have definitely been through a lot with Benny. And I’m always making sure he’s okay Luckily we haven’t had a hot spot in over year As long as you don’t count the time last year he had fleas. Haha those caused a lot of issues

I've met several Bernese mountain dogs, but never one I didn't like. Bennie looks healthy, uninjured, in good shape and happy and clearly adores you two, so I believe you're good to him. Unfortunately, any post on the 'net draws nasty comments. They don't mean there is anything wrong with your post.

Our Baxter is 8 months and weighs 105 pounds. Yes he is a Berner. When does the nipping quit? He is still hyper and biting anything he can get. He has more toys than a child. 🤣. He jumps in bed and tries to lay on me. Augh! 🥴

Also you guys ever had a hard time with the feeding part of the day he is very stubborn ever since I took him off the raw patties to raw kibble I mean he eats it but almost feels like he waits to the last minute every time like instead of eating twice in a day only eats at night? I've tried instinct and ACANA FOR OTHER brands and finally I've stayed with Stella and chewy raw kibble. He it's but like I have to keep hinting for him to eat his food. Is he just being picky you think? All other signs like being playful energetic everything seems normal.
