Miles is stronger than Peter in most aspects outside of intelligence and experience, and some minor differences in physical strength and speed. I don't mind Peter being less powerful overall since it's simply a accurate depiction of both characters as a whole.
nah, they changed it to focus on melee combat, and it definitely worked. the combat has much more depth and feels much harder to master. in the first game the gadgets were a straight up cheat code that would one shot most enemies, now they assist the melee combat, which is a much better choice.

Yeah that made me roll my eyes in disbelief. All this nonsense just because Insomniac seems to think, we need to include a badass Female character that can take out trained assassins that give Spider Man a hard time. Seriously they need to gtfo of here with that logic and hey don’t we technically have Black Cat that can take out those trained assassins? That would be far more believable than MJ taking out trained killers.
Also, another thing regarding "taking the ranged enemies out with one hit," I have no idea why this was taken out in this game, but in the previous two games, you could unlock a skill called Webstrike Takedown, where if you perfect-dodged a ranged enemy, you could use your webstrike to immediately take them out. Like, THAT would certainly have come in handy!
But wouldn't that make all ranged enemies a joke, even more than they are now? It's already a pretty easy game and one hitting certainly doesn't help imo

@@sdbzfan1 but being able to one hit every enemy isn't a good option too. Besides when I played on spectacular no enemy besides the symbiotes, heavys and those flame thower guys. And even those can be easily killed with your abilities, gadgets or smart use of focus. There are suit mods that make attacks in the air more leathal and there are mods or abilities that make you gain focus faster too
@@warpitexis2341 like i said its not a negative because it benefits playing smart If someone is terrible at dodging then they would still have to deal with the ranged enemies as is, and its not like having specific ways to deal with enemies is a negative either, symbiotes are weak to anti venom for example plus the colored enemies give you hints at how to beat them, the green ones die in one hit to anti venom webs, why do you want to keep attacking an enemy 8 times before it goes down outside of hard mode, dude was playing on easy and enemies still took the same amount of damage from hits, that just sounds like terrible balancing
@@sdbzfan1 having different tactics for different enemies is good, but when the tactic is that you just do what you already did 2000 times to one hit the enemy it's not really good, especially if it's not even a risk reward system like parrying, where you get damaged if you don't time it right, the only thing that happens is that you dodge the attack and can't one hit the enemy. And as I said even the higher difficulties you shouldn't have those problems, you can web them up close to an object, try to get them on a wall to kick them until they die you can use your abilities to get them in the air and increase your damage output and be a lot safer. You can use the grappling gadget to get them in one place and hit more enemies with one special attack etc. You can use the super jump followed with a ground pound to get a horde of enemies away (if you put the super jump on the d pad it goes of instantly btw) etc. You can combine a lot of things to get rid of enemies faster. I don't like saying it because it's annoying but that really is a skill issue if you take that long to kill normal enemies, even if you upgrade

The entire last part of the game was literally Web of Shadows. Insomniac tried to condense an entire game into a small part, thats why you feel the way you do about it. I would recommend Web of Shadows if you can find it. Web of Shadows had an Infamous style morality system, you have the option to use the black suit or not. The black suit made combat much easier with it increasing your damage and giving you access to alot of AOE tendril attacks. Web of Shadows was the power fantasy Spider-Man game.

Oh God I thought I was the only one that felt the enemies were very spongey. Especially the symbiotes. Fighting them is such a chore EDIT: For everyone saying skill issue and whatnot, I don't mean that the enemies get difficult or it becomes too hard. I just mean that it gets boring. Fighting the symbiotes, for example, gets boring, and upping their defense to make them spongey just makes fighting them even more boring. I enjoyed the game, but it definitely has flaws. Having the symbiote fights feel like a boring chore is definitely one of them.

Yeah I found it weird how easy it was for MJ when Peter absolutely struggled. He even points it out so I guess it’s because he had the symbiote longer than everybody else did. They had to absolutely wear Harry and Peter down in order for them to take it off tho. Everybody else were minor symbiotes so I guess they expected that to be self explanatory
@@Peter_ParkedCar I'm actually talking about the movie.. in spiderman 2 the game, everyone get out of the symbiote so easily without needing some help (like a large high pitched sound) meanwhile the movies spiderman 3 - peter parker, despite knowing that he had his consiousness now and not affected by the symbiote had to use the church bell (a high pitched sound and vibrations) to remove it .. venom - both venom and riot had to use a speaker that emits high pitched noise to remove it.. its funny really haha
That’s exactly what I was thinking, you pretty much hit the nail on the head with explaining the problem with this game thinking taking the symbiot suit off is easy. Even Spider Man struggled until he used the bell and still looked like he had a hard time.
Tbf Miles had used the bell multiple times before Pete took the suit off. He was even gonna hit on more time but didn’t wanna see him like that, then Pete takes off the suit
By the way, thank you so much for commenting on the lackluster combat. Enemy types even on a base level were spongey and I never truly understood how Spider-Man’s powers could be watered down that much.
Uppercut, web, web yank. Done in less than 5 seconds. He's SPIDER-man. Use the webs. Plus Spider-Man has allowed people to injure him in order to spare them broken bones. He goes really easy on human enemies in the comics, because he could easily wreck them for life with no effort if he didn't. He's not a brawler. He's a dancer.
You are right man. At this point I treat these PS5 releases like free 10-15 hour movies you can watch on youtube. Their stories are written for mass appeal and the gameplay is watered down to casual level with little to no skill progression on the player's part. They are basically somewhat interactive movies with gameplay mimicking mechanics slapped onto them, instead of being video games first.
A story game focusing on story😱 also u do know abt the lizard boss fight, leaven, venom, and more right💀 they have specific patterns the player has to follow in order to dodge/parry them. If u want a shitty campaign play COD. There is player skill progression in the form of combos and trying to get ur focus bar high enough without getting to much damage to heal so u get pull off a finisher

Hot take, maybe: Web of Shadows still has the best combat system in any Spider-Man game to date. That game REALLY made you feel like you were a superhuman wailing on people, and the moves were flashy, fast, and satisfyingly brutal, especially with the symbiote suit. When your game allows you to literally surf on someone’s face and chest, before kicking them 20 feet away, or pinning them to the ground to wail on their face, picking them up, choking them, and then punching them away… You know the combat is cracked. The Arkham games have the best combat experience for this kind of system/gameplay that the Insomniac games have taken. As Batman and the other playable characters, you FELT like you were actually hitting people and hitting them hard. I know Spider-Man outclasses Batman in strength, but the latter actually makes you feel like you’re beating the shit out of the people whom are trying to kill you. Let’s not even get into how much better the stealth in the Arkham games are, also. I really enjoy the Insomniac Spidey games, despite me having not played SM2 yet, but I also won’t pretend like there aren’t other super hero/comic book games out there that do particular things considerably better than them.
People only like web of shadows because of nostalgia. Emulate the game now, and it's a mess......I can see why the newer spiderman amd arkham games are more successful 😅
The worst thing in my opinion has got to be how annoying it is that it forces you to change in to the games symbiote suit so you can’t use the classic or webbed black suits in the cutscenes and gameplay, really don’t know why they did that

The way they try so hard to make Miles seem cooler than Peter just pisses me off. Miles saves Peter from the symbiote by beating him up and telling him he's being a jerk? Peter should've gone overboard, had a moment of self realization, then went to the church to rip off the suit! And don't even get me started on how Miles defeats Venom single handedly! So stupid! Considering how much padding they added instead of Harry breaking the symbiote out of it's container, while it's in Spider-Man's hand. They could have easily manufactured another threat peter has to deal with and this makes him leave the symbiote with Dr. Connors. This would make it more reasonable for harry to break it out and become venom. In face I like this solution because It would add another activity to the open world. Which was another aspect that lacked variety.
Well Cletus Kasedy already had another sample from Oscorp. I'll be honest people may not want to hear it, but insomniac is reaching to get Knull and war of symbiotes in Spider-Man 3 the final chapter with Dr Oct and Harry Osborn. Rather you want to know or not. The plan is Norman and Otto is going to make New York turn against both Spiderman and reveal their identity to the world. Otto saw the whole plot including with sandman who's an anti hero now. Both Spiderman will face NYPD Police department, Carnage unleashing the Knull portal on New York, Peter will die, Miles Morales mother will be in jeopardy of Death, and Harry or Norman will die. Somewhere in this story we will get Wolverine, black cat, silver sable, Yuri, Silk, avengers and Dr strange. Yes the goal is that Otto and Norman are going to team up with Cletus I already know from story plots and details. They will show clues in the future DLCs
Peter was sidelined way too much, never been a fan of miles. Also mary jane couldve been taken out of the game entirely and the game would've been better.
I had the opposite impression, it felt like Miles got the short end of the stick; felt to me like he was put into this game just to boost the ESG score at the cost of making him completely irrelevant to the story.
It’s hilarious when the best part of the entire game was when you play as Venom instead of Spider-Man or Spider-Man. All it did was make me want a standalone Venom game.

@RMMonster01 People can’t comprehend nuance. Rhino broke out twice (three if you count the hidden wall mount that implies Kraven killed him) and he’s still evil. Same goes for Scorpion and Electro. Vulture was always looking for a way to cure his cancer and Shocker wasn’t really “evil” either. Both of those guys are dead. Otto is still evil. Tombstone is the only guy who just… decided to go straight. Martin Li was never really evil. He did evil things, deserving of punishment, but that’s mainly due to him feeling wronged by Osborne and his literal powers of Negativity. He acknowledges that he did insane things to justify his seeking revenge. That’s not impossible. The discussion around this game are so irritating because people on opposite “sides” always go too far in their observations or criticisms and are either purposely blind to nuance or are just not that intelligent
This games feel like they are trying to push Peter Parker out, and Miles in. While playing, all I wanted to do was switch back to Peter. I hate Miles, his character is so annoying.

spiderman 2 literally had the same formula for the first game. 1 - villain that (is supposed) to be main threat 2 - friend becomes foe 3 - new foe makes the city ill/destroyed and peter needs the super Mcguffin to save everyone. Kind of amazing how the Batman Arkham franchise is still the gold standard of superhero games that hasn't been beat. Even a weaker title like Origins is objectively vastly superior and deep than Marvel's Spider-Man.

The thing I hate about this game is that by the end of the game, Miles and MJ are the ultimate MVP and Peter is the biggest loser cause he's not a diverse person or a woman. Peter got so shafted compared to Miles, constantly apologizing and people not giving him a break even thought it was the Symbiote doing it and all of them have seen the black suit. Naughty Dog, Insomniac, and Sony Santa Monica's design philosophy is the polar opposite of Fromsoft's or Nintendo 1st party's. It's very curated with lots of cutscenes and QTEs, apparently it's what's worked for them over the last decade+ and they're probably not gonna change that anytime soon.

In spiderman miles morales I felt that the combat felt more brutal and punchy than spiderman 1. I was hoping to see more of that heavy hitting feeling. I do like the very smooth transitions and flow of movement visually speaking.
You know youbare absolutely right, i bought spiderman 2018 on pc immidiately refunded it because of its obnoxious game choice and combat feel. miles game was short and better made than 2018 where combat was satisfying.
Lets be honest here, the Metacritic is only as high as it is because of the very preachy, in your face political bent it has. MJ is out here one shotting the enemies Peter and Miles have to hit 12 times to put down. She is tanking hits from symbiote drones and had the easiest time overcoming her symbiote infestation. All the main character men are emotional wrecks that are hugging all the time and screaming "they don't understand me!" and "you hang out with miles more than me!" This is especially out of character for both Osborn men of whom greatest character flaw from the comics was their excessive macho personalities. If this was a normal game and not a ESG Special it would have been low to mid eighties max.
yeah these games just fundementally misunderstand everything about spider-man. But people will applaud because it looks glitzy and expensive. The dramatic cutscenes are so bizarre, its like a spidey story written by aliens.

Whenever, I see really high user score count on Metacritic (3500+) I am almost sure the fans are coming out in force to protect "Their" game. This fact is further substantiated by the dog piling of anyone who has any criticism of the game on social media. It is a Metacritic 90 rated game why are PS fans so sore? Spider-Man 2 has a more dedicated defense force than even Starfield. The Starfield fans weren't as successful in review lofting however, because Xbox simply has a smaller dedicated fan base than PlayStation. RoboCop just showed what happens when you do not tow the line on political message. It is getting review bombed by the press; but look at that user score and that the user review number is not in the stratosphere.
They completely took out all the interesting gadgets that made stealth fun, setting up traps and picking apart enemies one by one rather than boring stealth takedown after boring stealth takedown. There was far more variety in the first Arkham game let alone Arkham city in terms of fluid combat, stealth mechanics, etc. They even got rid of the perfect dodge, which was a feature that rewarded finesse.
Word of advice if you find the enemies: use the uppercut on the enemies, web them and slam them on the ground so that they stay down, using your gadgets more also helps allot but the combat did get nerfed you got a good point there I remember the focus bar filling up faster when you hit them mid-air but now I feel like they fucked that up to and enemies also get stuck in buildings which really annoyed me but still fun video griffin take good care off you and your dog

It's a shame. I feel sorry for Griffin because his community post made it seem like he was excited to play the game. I'm sure he's not trying to hate on the game, and that he was genuinely hoping that the game was great. However, it's nice to get a fairly honest review of the game since I had some of these problems with the first two games (repetitive combat (although this was slightly alleviated by the use of gadgets), and the story taking up too much prominence) and it's a shame it wasn't fixed this time around. Between this and the AC Mirage review, I am really enjoying Griffin's reviews, and hope he continues making them! Also, Harry's "Spider-AIDS" killed me lol.
Respectfully, how can you not expect the story to take up a majority of the game when it is clearly marketed as a narrative spiderman experience? I don't care for what I have played of spiderman 2 yet but, you should expect a story based game. It is a first party sony game after all.

Yeah I agree. I absolutely loved this game and it’s easily my favorite spider man game now, but it’s not perfect and I like hearing legit criticism. I strongly disagree with a lot of his points though, but I don’t think he’s the worst person on the planet like the other ponies would

Gotta disagree with your opinion on the combat, your gameplay is missing use of your abilities. You werent using your web gadgets or abilities (if that was your gameplay being shown) you can take out enemies a lot quicker if youre webbing them to walls and using your special moves. Your gameplay was a lot of square mashing. You didnt even have any of your other web gadgets by the time you got to the symbiote suit. Just an observation my man Also, youre intentionally obfuscating details to make the story sound terrible. Like when you said miles "just talk no jutsus peter and convinces him to take the suit off" thats dishonest. They fought, miles electrical powers countered the symbiote and helped peter rip it off. And later in your review you say venom doesnt explain his motivations or why/how he covered the city but its explained in the same cutscene right before, either you didnt pay attention, or your intention in this review is to blatantly be dishonest. Be objective. Only half way through this review and youve lied and been dishonest a few times now. I agree with you about all of the MJ stuff and forced diversity nonsense but youre lying a lot too, like what you said about the music museum segment. It wasnt about the guy wanting to shut down a black business like you said, there was something valuable that he wanted to steal specifically that just so happened to be the museums center piece. Watching you fight the symbiotes is painful, again...you didnt have any of your suit upgrades/gadgets of course late game combat encounters will be hard if you dont use any of the abilities at your disposal and just mash punch. Love Kraven and thought he was portrayed well, but the lizard boss fight pales in comparison to fights like Killer Croc or Solomon Grundy where the phases at least with Grundy felt unique and meaningful, hell even killer croc’s fight was more narratively well-portrayed than Lizard’s.

This was easily the worst “Black Suit” story ever told. The gameplay is better and the websuit dynamic is cool but the storytelling & decisions made were awful - Harry over Eddie?? Biking when I’m Spiderman?? Kraven not feeling like a hunter at all.. I could go on but Sony should’ve let Insomniac Games finish the game before putting out that mediocre mess that was just a money grab. I was disappointed after all the hype they built for it
I sold my PS5 several months ago, I liked the first game but I knew the second one wouldn't really do that much new so I felt like I wouldn't miss out on much. I'll get it on PC years down the line. Not to sound like a Batman simp, but at least the Arkham games all had a different setting and all excelled at something different. @@gangstagummybear3432The reason they don't put them day one on PC is to maximize their earnings from the Playstation platform first so when they put their games on PC years later, they would have already made the most money they felt the game could do on that platform and people on PC could go ahead and spend basically full price for the same game that came out a few years back. It's more of a financial decision and no, the casual gamers which is the vast majority of gamers don't care if Playstation or Xbox have "exclusive" games that are on PC day one. Exclusives aren't the driving force of the vast majority people to get a console, with the only exception here being Nintendo.

You forget that unlike Microsoft, Sony doesn't truly consider PC as a competitor, PC can never be to Sony, what it is to Microsoft, and now that Call of Duty and other Activision/Blizzard titles are in Microsoft's hands now, there is far more reason for them to bring all of their games back to only Playstation. The other option is to make another game system that is only for people that would want to go premium on their gaming, but were normally stuck in that $400 or $500 budget hardware threshold of game systems, a new platform outside of "playstations" that don't have to stay in the confines of the "$400" price ceiling, a platform that assures the best version of their game is on their platform, if that happens, then they don't have to worry about the game being on pc at all.

Spamming gadgets in the latter half of the game really helped me, especially with the symbiotes. You can kill the green ones just with webs. They annoyed the shit out of me at first until I realized that I was relaying too much on physical combat skills. The combat loop encourages more use of gadgets than the previous 2 games.

Instead of using the stungun I suggest MJ to just send it to Peter. To be honest the stungun is better than any other gadget. Instantly one shot everything, realiable, its power is magically infinitely.
I do appreciate your review for being honest to your opinions on the game, I remember Ragnarok was hailed as this masterpice and yet I still haven't gone back to play ng+ because that game was so underwhelming throughout and was done a disservice by how much hype and praise it got when it was really just an okay game.

I didn't expect that Spider-Man 2 would be the game that nailed the coffin shut for my interest in modern video games. I remember I was so pumped to see what Insomniac would have in store for us, I even pre ordered the collector's edition, which was practically a scam (an empty steelbook with just a code, not even a disc and a statue). Long story short, I cancelled my pre order, bought the game second hand and after finishing it all I felt was disappointment. The story was rushed, empowerment and wokeness was thrown to my face and the main character whose name is literally in the title was nerfed to high heavens.

Peter got slammed by Scorpion and only lived because he “Would get payed more” 💀💀💀 and as we know Peter couldn’t even beat Dock Ock without buffing himself. 99% of the fights he won in that game were merely based on terrain advantages. In that “1v6” they were all taking turns hitting him as opposed to actually working together. As for Spider-man 2, Venom had to call in for help from other Symbiotes, and when they actually had their 1v1 Peter had 2 separate opportunities to kill Venom. I pity those poor suckers who undoubtedly received this malicious pile of filth for Christmas from 80-year old grandma Betty who doesn’t know any better. She saw the “game”, thought “oh little Timmy loves Spider-Man!”, purchased the game, wrapped it up for Christmas, and little Timmy was traumatized for life for receiving this miserable pile of garbage on perhaps the worst Christmas in history.
In terms of graphical issues (and they'll probably patch this), Peter's head is too small for his body in several scenes. It's very noticeable in the first scene he is in when he is teaching. This happened in the remaster as well, but I thought since they changed the face altogether, it was a consequence that they just had to deal with. This game was built from scratch, so there isn't a lot of excuses for it. His lips don't match up with what he is saying quite a few times, in fact sometimes they don't even move. This happens with quite a few characters, actually. Jonah's web conversation with MJ is by far the worst example of that. In fact, it comes across as if that scene was re-scripted and they tried to re-animate around it last minute. The character models, themselves... at some points look great, but most of the time, look underwhelming. It isn't a big step up and maybe that wasn't the goal, but whereas I think the PS3 was more than capable of handling the cutscenes from the first Spider-Man, this game's cutscenes could have easily run on the PS4. Battle scenes are a bit too chaotic at times. It's still has enjoyment value as did the last one and it is a spectacle to look at, but there's almost too much going on on-screen at once. Kingdom Hearts 3 had this same issue. Cool combinations and battle sequences, but man is it noisy. With multiple people fighting on screen, this happens. Spider-Man 2 is not to the level of chaos Kingdom Hearts 3 is, but I can definitely see it trending int that direction. I definitely agree about the number of hits it takes to take down the bad guys. I wasn't the biggest fan of it in the first game and they went harder on it in this version. It winds up being artificial difficulty because they didn't make the enemies more challenging, they just gave them longer health bars so that they stick around longer. This was a MAJOR issue I had with DBZ Kakarot. There was ONE very difficult boss battle and all the other ones were just take out 15 life bars while you have 1. Spider-Man 1 & 2 are lesser versions of that, but I can't stand that when fighting enemies. It creates drag on the game, I think and it get very boring very quickly which says a lot with all the things on screen happening. If I can compare the first game to the second, the battle with Lizard is much like the first battle with Mr. Negative. Li had 3 phases: 1 where you just fight, 1 where you learned his first pattern and 1 where you learned his second pattern. None of them dragged though. They made the health bar for him make sense to keep the player engaged. They didn't make you fight him for any extended amount of time. Lizard repeats the same pattern over and over from the jump and you have to fight him 3 times in 2 different areas and that kind of stuff makes it drag, especially with the massive life bars. I didn't mind the MJ missions from the first game. I was moreso irritated with her for getting herself into these situations in the first place because it was VERY stupid coupled with the fact that they basically... didn't write Mary Jane well at all. She's probably the farthest removed in terms of accuracy, and she makes VERY dumb decisions and is just not a character you can get behind at all But I didn't mind the MJ missions, mechanically. Having to sneak around and not get caught, knowing you can't take them out, it made sense. It really felt like this role was suited for someone else, but yeah... she got some boxing lessons from Silver Sable so yeah, she can now take these guys down. Tasing is one thing, but she is outright beating them up. It's like "... ok whatever" The "Save the Supervillains" arc would have meant more if... well... they tried to keep them as villains. Li, I understood after the previous game. They kept Scorpion as a bad guy, but the others... just didn't make a lot of sense. I think it was to make Kraven look like more of a bad guy, but... the other bad guys don't have to be bad for Kraven to be worse. Kraven is REALLY wasted in this... he's built up to be this super bad, but he's really just a plot device. He's the one that's just setting the table for Venom... I HATE Venom. You'd think after several attempts someone would get the Venom storyline right. But no... we have to go with the Disney XD Ultimate Spider-Man storyline of Harry being Venom and it isn't even built up that well. Also Harry has the symbiote and is fine. Pete has it for a day or so and turns evil. Then Harry gets it back and suddenly "We are Venom!!!" People might think I'm crazy, but Spider-Man 3 did it better. I, honestly, was thinking that Miles was going to get the black suit, not Peter. I'm not a fan of Miles at all but given how they were telling the story (and they aren't going for comic accuracy anyway so that's out the window), it just makes more sense for Miles to get the symbiote and become the temporary bad guy, rather than Peter. Heck... what if he became Venom and was the final boss?? It makes way more sense vs. Harry given what was happening with him earlier in the game. It wouldn't solve the rules of symbiosis, but still. Venom's end goal is to infect everything on the planet, by the way. There's a scene where he's talking to Harry as his mother and they hint at that is what it wants. Think Riot from the Venom movie if that makes any sense. Anyway, what they did was basically combine elements of the Spider-Man 3, Amazing Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man 2 movies along with The Disney XD Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and they could make that work, but they failed. It honestly suffers from a lot of what movies and shows suffer from today, bad writing and often lazy writing. This story, obviously, should have been spread across 2 separate games. I can look past some of the irritating woke stuff. There are elements of that in the first one too, but it's pretty in your face in the second one. I don't hate the game. It has its merits, but I was massively disappointed.

Kraven's plan was to find his equal and an worthy opponent and he chose all supervillians but not Spider-man who defeated every single one of them. 100% goty material.

Kraven was going to go after Spider-Man as well. He just didn’t really care to have him as a priority because Spider-Man doesn’t kill his enemies. Once he sees the power and rage of Spider-Man in the symbiote suit, that’s when Kraven gained interest.
Kraven knew the spidermen didn't kill. So he wanted the villains more because they were killers. When peter got the symbiote and showed more brutality and aggression kraven took interest in him. That's why he didn't really care for miles as he didn't have a symbiote
Anyone else felt annoyed playing Peter Parker missions? I felt they were distraction to the main story of Miles and MJ. How dare they waste 50% time on Peter's missions when they should be giving us the og spider-man Miles.

Why is there so much stupid playable MJ stealth sections, why is she in the final battle with a fucking pistol shooting venom spawn and surviving. WTF were they thinking? Note to anyone thinking about buying this, turn of voices and skip cutscenes, you’ll have a better time I think, except you’ll still need to play the forced MJ stealth sections. I'm a huge fan of Spider-Man ps4 and I've been eagerly waiting for this games release. Looked up this video to get a less glazed take on the game. As a self-proclaimed fan boy, respect to you for being willing to criticize a game most audience members will praise to the heavens.
I loved the game. But I am definitely with you when it comes to the combat and the stealth. The Arkham games are the perfect example as to how combat SHOULD be.

lol there would be so many times where I was one hit from death, and using a single gadget saved my skin so many times🤣😂🤣. I kinda appreciate becoming op in the game too, especially when the game just tanks 3 to 4 waves at you which is annoying, way to many, but the gadgets for real speed the process up, which I why I liked Miles the most since he has the best area radius attack with the Mega venom blast. Peter not having an big area attack like web blossom from the first game was just something else🙄😂.

You can have story and character development without sacrificing gameplay and making people sit for 20 minutes doing nothing but walk around and watch cutscenes. Devil May Cry series is a perfect example of a game that is not a movie game while also having a great story and cast of characters who have a lot of depth and development
Having a story is not what makes a game a movie game, a movie game is like god of war ragnarok constantly interrupting gameplay every ten seconds to show you a scripted cinematic and the gameplay it does have is virtually on rails not allowing you to fail lol
