That part in the trailer might not be Otto’s first appearance in the movie. According to an alleged plot leak, Dr. Strange is already holding Marc Webb and Sam Raimi’s spidey villains captive in his basement, basically. Which is where him and Peter appear go to do the spell. Many have already pointed out the Lizard there attempting to attack Peter. So, Otto and the others have more than likely seen MCU Peter before an all-out battle on that bridge.

Sylvie killing He Who Remains/the Kang variant enabled the Multiverse to grow again; it seems Strange’s spell allowed these characters to cross over. So Sylvie helped all of these other universes branch out, but Strange’s spell either weakened the fabric between universes or straight up pulled certain characters from one universe into another. I’m betting on the former but we’ll see.

My theory for introducing the mutants was that a percent of the people brought back from the snap, would develop the x-gene as a side effect. We have seen individuals get powers from a single infinity stone but people got snapped by all six, DNA is scrambled and reformed by Infinity Stone energy and a whole spectrum of powers is possible.

@@KuroSlick my theory for that is, the older mutants already exist in MCU, mutation is a random slow progression: wolverine, prof x, magneto, Mr sinister, apocalypse etc. But the snap returned will cause an explosion of mutants suddenly, then u get prejudice storylines, Mutant registration storyline, sentinels etc.
